Merlinite was not going to let himself get beaten again, damn it, and he was not going to get this guy get out of here without at least a few bruises to show for his trouble. Merlinite was going to leave his mark: he was going to start making a damn name for himself.
Though he probably needed to be a bit more careful. He needed to really understand what he was trying to accomplish. Was he a brute force kind of a guy, or a subtle information kind of guy?
He'd have to pick one or the other eventually, but that was not going to happen tonight.
He felt the small hammer smack into his head, though, and that stunned him enough to make him fall backwards a bit. It brought some stars to his eyes, and stopped his flailing and punching at least for a short time.
"Damn your little hammer! I'm going to shove that thing down your throat!"

Shang was very happy to be released and took the moment to face his opponent spinning around, no longer focused on running. It didn't seem like he'd be able to anyway. Merlinite pushed and a little to far at that. If he wanted to fight, one thing was for certain, he had it now.
He released his weapon at the threat, having no desire to even have the chance it would be shoved down his throat. He balled up his fist, for what reason even he didn't know as he quickly raised a foot and kicked hard at the other aiming for his stomach.
It was time to see if any of his training might actually pay off or get pummeled it seemed.

Merlinite was not sure if he had gotten what he wanted, or if he had failed and gotten too much. He was tense, but ready for a good fight either way. Come hell or high water he was going to make this guy and his stupid little hammer regret picking on the Negaverse.
Ignoring the fact that he was the one that was the aggressor, not the poor knight who was only fighting in his own defense.
He took the hit to his stomach and doubled over, but righted himself awkwardly to try and swing for Shang's face. This was going to be a brawl, close combat and violent, and not very graceful. He was going to fight with all he had and prove that he was meant to be in this damn game, and he was going to win!
Maybe.
Well he was going to try, anyway, and that meant all his effort, all his strength, and he put all that determination into his next punch, swinging for Shang's head and not letting go of his baton.

Shang attempted to dodge the batoned fist that came sailing toward his face, but a full dodge didn't happen. The fist connected with his chin and as he head turn and the baton followed with a sharp sting to his cheek. He wouldn't be able to hide the mark, that it would create and that irritated him slightly.
He rubbed his bruised cheek very briefly before he rushed at the other not caring if he was kicked or hit and attempted to grab his jacket and jerk the other and try to roughly shake some sense into him.
He didn't know what to say, the words wouldn't come. It was a just an intense of not anger, but a question stare, that sort of still conveyed the question why. Shang just didn't get why, with any of them on the other side. He didn't here order member going, go pummel people on the other side. He hadn't seen on just randomly attack another.

A hit! A palpable hit!
Merlinite was more than a little excited by the fact that he had managed to land a good blow against an opponent. For once he was starting to feel like his skills could actually back up his bluster: he was not just all talk, as he had been so far. He could land some hits and do some damage, when he got the right chance and he used his advantages for what they were.
He was learning how to play this game.
His private celebrating left him a little off guard, and he was surprised when the knight seized him by the shirt and begin to shake him. He growled and did not like to see the question in the other man's face. He was not about to start doubting himself, questioning himself, not because this guy was upset with him. He tried to smack him away, using his baton for what it was worth.
"Get off me!" He said, enraged, "who are you? Who do you work for? What do you think you're out here to do?" He almost forgot he needed to gather information from clowns like this.

Shang was less than pleased to be smacked with the baton yet again, it hitting in him and the next and cause him to shove the other away. He decided to if he decided, in that moment, to shake someone again he would be holding there arms not there clothes.
He frowned deeply at the questioning, "I won't answer any of your questions. The answers are no concern of yours," she said swiftly.
He summoned his weapon again, "now if you don't mind. I will be leaving. I can't stay and play with you all night."
He started to back away, having no desire what so ever to turn his back on the other, he found himself jumped on the last time.

Merlinite growled. He was invested in finding out anything he could and reporting it back to his superiors, until he could prove himself worthy of being one of the ones others reported to. He was not going to stop because he was getting a little shaken up. A couple of bruises weren't going to stop him!
Hopefully.
Breathing heavily, he watched as the knight backed up. He growled, considering his options. Keep fighting, and he would probably exhaust himself and pass out from the strain of it. He was still a newbie, though he had tenacity to burn.
Damn it. He was willing, but his body was not playing well with him. He was tired. This guy had one up on him. Damn it. Damn it.
"Get out of here then! And be thankful I didn't give you a worse beating! Next time I see you, I'm getting all the answers you have to give me!"

Shang had no idea he had one up on the other. Did he look less tired, probably, he was very use to odd hours working in the emergency room. Adrenaline rushes and having to go it one more, two more, three more hours were just a thing with him. It didn't matter because once it came apparent the other wasn't going to attack him again, he turned tail running out as fast as he could. He barely heard the warning, nor did her care about it. He only cared to get away and that was what he was going speeding away from the other and disappearing from sight.
