He nodded. Artifacts were pretty important things, that he could agree on, but for one who was supposedly extremely slow in noticing the most obvious things, he managed to see the faintest shudder from her, and frowned.
"Well, don't do it on my account. If the place makes you uncomfortable, you don't have to go through with it." He wasn't going to suggest the mall, NOPE.

"Oh, no. It's...fine." She took a deep breath. "Can't be worse than anywhere we've been sent before, right?" She grinned at him. In this line of work bodies are the last thing I should be afraid of, in all honesty. She turned her attention back to the book. Besides. She'd promised him something to do, and now Armagnac, too. It was entirely possible it wouldn't be that bad. She might not even see a body. That would be nice. "Oh!" The familiar word portal jumped out at her. "It...looks like..." she spoke as she read, "there are portals to this place." She looked at Jake again. "Through Halloween, of course. Says something about portals and such. I bet the forest would have a way in." Previous experience told her as much. "So...we could give it a look maybe?" She shrugged a bit, and half offered the book to Jake. "It has to be more fun than shopping or something."

Sherry only earned a halfhearted shrug. "Sounds about right. We had to go through Weeping Forest. We had to go through there twice before, didn't we?" Her last comment made him freeze, and he flustered slightly. "Yeswelllet'sgo." He didn't bother waiting for her as he headed towards the portals.

Sherry was nodding. The forest made the most sense. Though she didn't exactly like portal searching. It lead to....well. She did get cake that one time. That was worth it.
"Hm?" Jake suddenly seemed in a hurry to get on with things. That was a good sign, right? Surely. As long as she didn't get left behind. "Yes!" She may have left the book on the table as she scurried after him.

((Just gonna hunt in this thread. Because why not?)) Quote: Getting into the The Ancient Necropolis:- You need to camp out in the Weeping Forest after reading the information. Hunters can enter Halloween as well without a golem (recommended as the Altar itself is very golem unfriendly due to its climate and high altitude as well as natural enemies), for a max of 30 minutes. Each roll takes 5 IC minutes - students can pretty much park here as long as they need as well as horsemen while Hunters will need to exit and enter back again. - Basically, all Hunter characters have 6 chances to find the portal. If they don't find it, they will need to leave and come back. Students and Horsemen do not need to ICly leave and come back. - All players roll 1d100. - Rolling 50 or less will let players find a portal that takes them to the frigid tundra, near a certain abandoned base that some older Hunters might remember. Some polar bears have taken up residence here, and gosh aren't they hungry? Better run! - Rolling 70 or less will let players find a portal to an alley near a busy street marketplace in Cairo, Egypt, and a street vendor mistakes you for someone that stole some of his wares. Yikes! - Rolling 80 or less will lead you to the Haunted House. - Rolling 81 or higher will let you find the portal! Success! You can now proceed inside.

The Weeping Forest, to Sherry at least, seemed very much like the last time she'd seen. Dark and eerie, still and quiet. Except of course for occasional whisper of wind blowing through the trees or strange animal-like noises that echoed through the stillness. For all it's strangeness, it was familiar. Sherry wasn't sure how she felt about that. "Well," she would sigh when they were both safely in the gloom of the forest, "I suppose we should...start looking. Since we can't be here forever." She glanced at her phone taking note of the time. "Remember, we are looking for an underground tomb. Hopefully there are not too many portals to other places fitting that description." Sherry turned, ready to start hunting. "Remember to yell is you find anything." Hopefully Jake wouldn't notice how deliberate she was in her walking away from him. The walk from the library to the portals had allowed her more time to think, and that was... Finding a portal jarred her out of her thoughts. With any luck, it would be-- Nope. She was in front of a door, a door she'd seen a few times, and none of those times had left her with a good memory. It was the House with a mind of it's own. One of the places where Halloween and her world could collide. Sherry actually gasped in relief as she leaped back through the portal. She'd been worried for half a second the house might try to keep her.

Jake only nodded. Right, underground tomb. Shouldn't be too hard to spot.
With a huff, he dived into a portal. The moment he stepped through, a frigid wind assaulted him, making him shiver. ... was this... oh hell. He never wanted to return to the arctic ever again. EVER.
And... polar bears. NOPE so out of here.
He hopped back through the portal, arms wrapping around himself as he was still shuddering. "T-that... wasn't i-it."

Just because she didn't want to stand next to Jake didn't mean that she wasn't keeping an eye on him. Anyone could he was visibly distressed in some way as she reentered the forest. Not quite fear, since he didn't seem frightened. Cold maybe. Sherry moved toward him, worry overriding things. "Are you alright?" Random portal hopping was not a hobby for a reason.
The hiss in her head pulled her up short. Right. Jake wasn't dead, and the forest was not safe to linger in. "Don't die on me before we start." She flashed a grin at Jake. He'd probably just get mad at her for being worried anyway.
So, Sherry turned to look for another portal. The forest was thick with them, so it wasn't difficult. The next one she stepped through...well. She wasn't gone for long. "Jake!" she called, stepping back into the forest. "This way. I think." Then she was gone.

He huffed as he straightened himself out. "Please. I'm not that weak." He watched her step through a portal, and was about to head into another himself when he heard her call his name. Well... that was fast.
He stepped through the portal, leaving the dark forest behind.
