"yes, exactly. I need something to keep it working." She smiled a little and watched as she was able to move her leg by herself with minimal pain.
"I think you're a genius Maia, look it's working perfectly."

"Well... Genius might be pushing it a little," Maia laughed and gave her a wink.
"What have you done?!" Cyrus roared from the door. He had walked in to find the girl sitting over a gaping wound in Elora's leg. Before they could answer, he saw red and he stormed up to grab the girl by the neck and shove her hard into the nearby wall.

Elora almost jumped through the roof as Cyrus barged in like a bull in a glass factory. She watched with horror as he grabbed the poor girl and shoved her almost through the wall.
"Cyrus." She shouted. "What the hell are you doing. Leave her alone you oaf." Wincing she pushed herself to her feet and managed, with the help of her newly oiled leg to limp towards Maia.
"Mai, are you okay?"

Maia didn't have time to react as Cyrus barreled down on her and grabbed her by the throat. Coughing as the wind was knocked from her, she scrabbled a bit at his hand as she began to see stars. She was sure she had been scared like this before.... but she couldn't recall when.
Cyrus blinked as Elora shouted his name. Turning his head, he blinked again as she rose and hobbled over to them herself. Dropping the girl in his surprise, he watched her.
"You're walking," he declared.
Maia coughed and put her hand to her throat as she crumpled to the floor. Letting the stars clear a moment, she looked up at Elora and gave her a weak smile.
"I'll live," she said hoarsely.

Elora looked up at Cyrus and gave him a bit of a look.
"Yes, I'm walking because of Maia, she put oil in the wound do see if it would work." She shook her head a little. "Try not to jump in before you know how deep something is. Now, help the poor girl up."

Cyrus breathed in at the look he was given. It was hard to remember how to act around others anymore. His protecting Elora had begun to consume him over the time since he had found her. Looking back down at the girl, he knelt down and carefully picked her up off the floor to set her down on the nearby sofa.
"Sorry," he mumbled, reaching up to run his hand agitatedly over his beard.
Maia blinked as she was properly picked up off the floor and she smiled as Cyrus set her down on the sofa.
"Thank you Cyrus," she said as she looked up at him and gave him a smile. "It's okay."

Elora limped back towards them both and took Cyrus' hand in her own and gave it a squeeze. She really could understand the dilemma. It had been just them and really, just him living for her for so long.
"She had an idea to get the oil around my body without injuring me too much."

Cyrus looked down at Elora as she took his hand and lifted his brows at her announcement.
"Did she?"
"Yes. I saw a doctor do it once with blood. He just used a needle and some tubing. I think your oil just dried up over time Elora. It just needs to be replaced. I've got all of the equipment in my bag," Maia said as she rubbed her neck and winced a little. There was definitely going to be a bruise there.
Cyrus turned and looked at the spot they had given to the girl to sleep in. Carefully disengaging himself from Elora, he went to her bags and started going through them without asking.
"Oh! Please be careful!" Maia called out with a bit of distress.

Elora rolled her eyes as Cyrus went off again and started rummaging.
"Really Cyrus where are you manners, this is getting a little rediculous." She said softly, the poor girl gets beaten up and then has him rummaging through her stuff. "She is only trying to help."

"She can help you now," Cyrus declared, not bothered in the least that he was being rude. He wanted his Ellie fixed. He had spent so much time trying to figure out how to fix her, to have the solution right in their hands was beyond his ability to be polite and patient. Finding what looked like the right stuff, he turned and held it up. "Is this it."
Maia breathed in and looked up at Elora.
"Yes. That's it. Are you ready to try Elora?" she asked, rising to her feet and reaching out to rest her hand lightly on Elora's arm.

Elora nodded.
"Yes, of course I am." She smiled and moved to take her seat on the sofa once more. "Cyrus, hold my hand whilst she does it please." That should keep him out of the poor girl's way for a bit.

Cyrus rose to his feet and carried the things over to the girl. Handing them over to her, he went to take a seat beside Elora.
"You will tell us if it hurts to much and you need to stop?" he asked, lacing his fingers through hers.
Maia took the equipment from the large man and looked down at it all. She had never done anything like this before. She really hoped she didn't mess this up. She suspected that Cyrus would not let her see another day if she did. Taking in a deep breath, she set everything off to the side and said a quick prayer that this would go well before starting to sort her things out.

Elora patted his hand and nodded.
"Of course I will." Though she had no intention of calling out unless she could not keep quiet. She really wanted it to work, more than anything and she did not want Cyrus to hurt Maia.

Maia studied Elora for a few moments and then looked to the needle in her hand.
"I think I will have to put it in each of your main joints. Like in each arm and each leg to make sure that it spreads out properly," she said and glanced to Cyrus. "I'll start here with this arm. Just keep still," she smiled a bit and approached Elora to find a good, nondescript place to stick the needle in. She would have to stitch the small space up, but she had just the thread for that and she would make the stitch tiny.
They were well into the second hour and Maia had taken to massaging the areas gently to make sure that the oil was getting down into her gears and spreading evenly. She had just finished her left leg when she glanced up at the pair.
"I don't think I'm going to have enough to finish."
Cyrus frowned and looked up at Elora.
"How are you feeling? Do you want me to get more?"

Elora had her eyes closed. it was the strangest feeling, the oil flowing into ther joints. She had stopped feeling the sting of the needle as it was poked various places. At the question she looked up.
"Yes Please." She said softly to Cyrus.
