Celsus half wondered whether he'd his head a little too hard on the bricks of the building, his vision swimming unpleasantly for a moment - but then he took a deep breath and steadied himself, and everything righted itself once more.
He smiled. "Merlinite. What an interesting name you've got there, darling."
One of his fists was thrown forward, Celsus aiming a hit at the Leiutenant's side.
"So where's your king, Merlin?"

Merlinite sneered. He liked this guy. Were all of their enemies like this? It would make this fighting thing a lot more fun. He had no idea what to expect, but if he got good fights and vexing banter, he would be a happy guy.
Until he got himself beaten up or possibly killed, but he wasn't really thinking about that.
Merlinite was a great name! He could not help but think so. It was the one he'd been awakened to, anyway, so he was pretty sure he couldn't change it. Anyway! It matched the dragon on his awesome pants.
"My King is Chaos!"
Yeah. He liked that. He got himself punched in the side while he was admiring his wit. This was all brand new to him, so he'd have to find the balance. He got punched and he lost all the wind in him, taking a gasping breath. He didn't have the instincts to follow through with another attack, favoring his side instead.

He couldn't help but roll his eyes a little, though there was amusement in his voice as he said, "Yes, I'm aware that you lot all love to say that sort of thing, but really you should come up with a better catchphrase. Maybe something to do with magic? You are Merlinite, after all, which is quite a fascinating name if I do say so myself."
Celsus took a few steps forward, casually, as though the pair of them were merely conversing about the weather, or some other such mundane thing. He circled the Lieutenant slowly, eyes flickering across his face, and then grinned.
"Normally, my policy is to leave people relatively intact," he said putting a friendly hand on the other's shoulder - and then jerked his leg abruptly, driving his knee into Merlinite's stomach.
"So I won't hurt you too much, because you're still new, but I can't have you following me, now can I?"
He bounced backwards, already half doused in the shadows from a nearby building, a grin in his voice as he added, "I have no doubt we'll meet again, so when we do, make sure you try and get that cocky attitude of yours a bit under control - it might make it easier for you to win."

Merlinite considered it. Something magical, hm? But he didn't have any magic, as far as he knew. Maybe he would ask some of his higher ups if he could swing something like that, and follow it up with more than just words.
This guy had a point: it was a good idea to play up his name as Merlinite, right? He even kinda had a wand, except it was more for smacking things and not for casting spells.
Or was it.
These were all thoughts for another time, though, as he was in the middle of getting his butt handed to him and he really needed to pay more attention to what was going on rather than what could be going on in the future. Did he have some sort of an attention disorder on the field? Better behind a desk? He certainly freaking hoped not.
"oof!" Merlinite replied, when he was kneed in the stomach. He felt the contents of his gut shifting uncomfortably, and things that were probably better off staying inside his stomach cavity seemed to race towards his throat, and he gagged breathlessly.
He was left on his knees, feeling stupid, and yet oddly invigorated. He would have replied to the knights taunting comments, but he couldn't find his voice at the moment, and had forgotten most of the english language, anyway.
But they would so meet again and Merlinite would not go down so easily next time.
