Briella nodded. "Yes I will teach you to grow up, and I will not be alone in doing so. You can learn from Maya the brave, Dyakida the wise," as much as she wanted to leave out Niebet she knew her sister also had skills that she could teach the youngling. "And Niebet the strong. They helped me grow up, and although I'll be your main teacher they will help as well." If one youngling wasn't enough in the house, now there would be two if Briella's plan worked. She was sure that Teiluj would be happy.
When she asked if she could trust her Briella smiled. She would have been worried for the girl if she trusted Briella so fast. "I cannot show you anything to make you trust me Ilyra. I can only tell you that it wasn't that long ago that I was in your shoes. It took months after living here for our Elder to give me these sticks that serve as my swords. I went to her every day, told her I was ready, but she kept them from me. I know what it's like for grown ups to keep you away from what you deserve. I would never wish that on another." she said moving some of the girls hair from her face. "Plus, remember, I'm not a grown up." she offered with a smile. It was important that Ilyra trust her if she was to become the girls guardian. Though she knew if she kept her promise and brought her back then she would trust her.
"So what do you say, are you ready to go tell them goodbye for the last time? Go get your weapons and come back here to start you training?"

Ilyra smile widened, spreading from ear to ear. If this lady was telling the truth, and Ilyra really thought that she was at this point, then she would be happy to go back. Well, happy to know that this was the last time she was going back to those mean adults. She could stay here and learn what she wanted to learn so badly.
"Okay, let's go!" She bounced up from her chair and grabbed onto Briella's hand. "We can leave right now! And then I don't have to go back ever!" She tugged at Briella's arm and half dragged her toward the door.
Ilyra was ready to get this over with and start her new life with these people who never grow up. She would be excited to meet them later!
"How long do you think it will take to come back?" She was impatient now and needed to get moving.

When the young girl smiled, Briella found herself doing the same. It was in the moment that she realized that she would keep her promise to the girl, and that she would do anything to do so. Her sisters weren't going to take this unique youngling back, she needed to live where she would grow and learn, and she had a feeling back home on the island was not that place. Even though Aisha had given this youngling to another for safe keeping, she would be the one to keep her safe now.
When Ilyra pretty much dragged Briella to the door she laughed, she took her hand from the girls just long enough to grab some paper and write a note to her sisters letting them know that she was going to the island and that she would be back as soon as possible. Thankfully they didn't live all that far from the edge and it wouldn't take all that long.
She moved back towards Ilyra and took the younglings hand, moving towards her room where she picked up her bag with some fruit in it and other things they might need. She already had her swords strapped to her back but moved them to her sides. "Well Ilyra there are two ways to get to the shore so we can go to the island. One is by tree tops, which will take maybe two days, and the other is by land, which will take some more time. Which way is better for you?" she could carry the youngling most of the way if Ilyra couldn't climb the trees, but something told Briella that Ilyra could.

Ilyra's eyes lit up when Briella mentioned the amount of time it would take to get back. That was almost no time at all! Not nearly as long as it had taken her to be found by Briella, and as impatient as she was, maybe it wouldn't even take that long, maybe they could race there!
She nearly jumped up and down with excitement. "Tree tops! I'm pretty good at climbing. And it's faster, right?" She clapped her hands together and raced out of the door, scrambling for the nearest tree with limbs and knots low enough for her to grab. "Come on! We have so far to go, maybe we can race!"
She grabbed hold of the first knot she could get her hands on and started to pull herself up. She looked back at Briella and stared her down until she saw that Briella was following.

Of course she could climb, and of course she would make it a race! "Yes a race, but don't fall too far behind!" Briella teased the younger girl. She use to race with Dyakida and Maya all the time, back when the three of them were younger and didn't have responsibilities. It was nice to be young again. Briella raced thru the treetops, making sure that the whole time Ilyra was in her view. At first she was to worried watching Ilyra to really enjoy herself, but once she was that the youngling was fine she started to have fun!
"It's getting late! We'll have to stop and make camp sooner or later, just to rest for a little and then we can be off in the morning." From what Briella could tell some time had passed, and she knew they needed to rest. They had made good time it seemed, and were closer to the shore then she would have thought. "If I'm right, we should be at the shore soon.... If your not tired we could keep going..." she didn't want to tire the youngling out, but if they could make it to the shore the could camp out there and then make it to the island the next day. It was possible that some sisters would be already at a camp by the shore, she knew there use to be a group, but she hadn't been back in a while and was unsure if they were still there.

Ilyra could tell that it was already late in the afternoon and that it would be getting dark soon. The great thing about being out here with Briella is that she didn't have anyone to make her stop.
Ilyra roughly clung to a branch to stop herself from continuing forward. Her breathing was hard and she was panting, but she was having too much fun to stop now. Especially if they were so close!
"Let's keep going! I'm not tired!" She called out to Briella on a neighboring tree. She followed her words with an enthusiastic leap onto the next branch. "Besides, I'm winning anyways! Slowpoke!" She took off into the next tree and raced forward, letting Briella keep up with her.
There was time for camp and resting when they got there. It was silly to stop now.

Briella watched the girl, she was breathing kind of hard but then again so was Briella. They hadn't stopped since leaving the house, and from what Briella could tell that had been hours ago. She was about to say something to Ilyra when the youngling insisted they keep going, but then she was off and calling Briella slowpoke.
Briella shook her head, she had been a little behind Ilyra the whole time, but that was about to change. Briella started swinging closer and closer to Ilyra until she was right above the youngling in the same tree but a higher branch. "Who you calling slowpoke?" she teased as she kept up the same pace as Ilyra with a smile.

Ilyra looked up at Briella with her mouth agape. How'd she get up there? She turned to look back at where she was going and put her whole weight into her movement. She sped up as fast as she could and began to pull away from Briella. "You!" She grinned at what she thought was her own wit and continued to race as fast as she could.
She pulled and pushed branches from her face and ignored the branches and trigs that pulled at her hair and skin. She was so in tune with the race and trying to keep up with Briella and win that she almost didn't notice the time passing.
Soon the forest was dark and the fungi on the forest's trees began their nightly glow. Ilyra was leaping through trees and grasping onto branches to keep her moving forward and pretty soon... she was out of branches.
She looked back at Briella and grasped in front of her at nothing. She still moved forward and began to tumble out of the last tree before the shore. She fell through masses of leaves and vines until she landed with a thud in the brush below. "Owww..." She rubbed her sore behind with her hands and moved to her feet again.

Briella laughed as Ilyra once again started to pull ahead, and put on a burst of speed until she was in front and on top of the youngling once again. It was fun, and Briella would fall back to allow Ilyra to get in front of her, and then speed up last minute to get back in front.
Thankfully when they reached the end of the forest Briella was a little more graceful then Ilyra and when she heard the youngling fall she ran towards her, holding out a hand to help her up. "Your fast alright, but you need to be more careful about where your going." she said as she stuck out her tongue.
Moving towards the shore she looked around for a camp full of her sisters. She was pretty sure it was in this direction, but if not they would make their own camp and set out in the morning.

Ilyra grabbed Briella's hand an puffed out her cheeks, pouting. "I meant to do that." She told Briella through pouting lips. Well, that was embarrassing, Ilyra should have seen that one coming. But who knew that the moment she went to look at her race partner she would fall through the trees. It was the trees fault if you asked her, what kind of forest just stops all of a sudden?
Ilyra looked around at the shore, hoping to help Briella find the camp that she had talked about, but it didn't look like they were there tonight.
"I don't see anyone... I think we should just find a boat and sleep next to it." She yawned into her free hand and stretched her toes. All that running had worn her out. She could use the rest before going back home one last time.

Briella nodded. Thankfully a blanket was in the bag she had packed, and although it wouldn't be the most comfortable way to sleep, in a boat, it would have to do. She was tied, and so was Ilyra. The sooner they slept the sooner they would wake up, go to the island, and then be on their way home. Or at least that was what Briella had hoped would happen.
"Okay, help me set up to sleep." she said moving to the boat. It didn't take long before it was done and Briella was laying down, ready to sleep. "See ya in the morning Ilyra." she said with a smile.

It felt like as soon as they had fallen asleep, the sun was already out and shining. The sounds of the morning forest had resumed and the cacophony of sound woke Ilyra.
Ilyra stretched and waited for Briella to take them to the island and get this show on the road. Ilyra was full of energy and back to being impatient. She looked over at her new friend and nudged her with her foot. Wake up... She thought to herself. She hoped her nudging was soft enough that she would wake up but wouldn't know it was Ilyra.

She was fast asleep, all the flying through the trees had really tied Briella out. However at Ilyra's nudging she opened her eyes and smiled. "Your not sneaky." she teased before stretching and standing up. "Come on, the sooner we pack up the sooner we can get going." and with that she started to pack up all their supplies. When she was done she put everything in the boat and motioned for Ilyra to get in. "Come on I'll push us off, we should be at the island in no time." she said with a smile. She was nervous, but eager to get this done with.

Ilyra jumped up from her place on the boat and started to gather all the supplies with Briella. the faster they could get this done, the better. They would be on their way in no time!
Ilyra returned to the boat and sat down, nearly bouncing in excitement. So soon. It would all start over in so little time. her excitement was nearly vibrating in the air.
The water was smooth that day and the sky was clear, not a cloud in sight. It was a good day for traveling the waters, and there would be no current to fight back against them. Ilyra looked out at the clear water and watched the small fish go by as Briella steered them to the opposite shore. Soon, so soon.
The boat touched the other side of the shore almost sooner than Ilyra had expected. They were really there in no time and it was already time to face the sisters she had left behind.

Even with her sore arms Briella was able to get them to the shore in record time. She knew it was the adrenaline pumping thru her veins. She was scared, and excited, and many more emotions that she couldn't even put into words.
As they landed on the shore Briella could see sisters walking around, minding their own business. Due to Ilyra's uniqueness she was sure it wouldn't be long until everyone knew she was back on the island, she stood out more then most due to her completion. Honestly now that there were there Briella wasn't sure what to do. Should she go to Ilyra's mother and tell her that she would take care of her now? Or go to the elders to plead her case?
She knew she didn't have much time so she took Ilyra's hand and started walking towards where she knew the Elders were. Maybe if she was lucky she would even be able to see Kadriye again! Her checks blushed slightly at the thought, but she had more important things to figure out then her feelings for the other girl.
When they got to where the Elders were Briella stopped and turned to the youngling. "Ilyra, please try not to make them mad. They might try to take you away from me and give you back to your mother. But I promise I won't let that happen." it was a big promise but she knew she would keep it. Even if it meant staying on the island till Ilyra could leave, Briella would do it. "Just please trust me, if I say something that seems to not make sense to you just trust me. It's the only way this will work. You have to trust me."
Briella nodded and waited, no doubt the Elders knew they were there and she would wait to be invited in. No need to piss them off.
