Unfortunately, Al got a little too excited and missed entirely as he sent a blast of fire screaming right past Rep and his fear shield. Still, he stared on in amazement. He made that. He looked to Nuru then the light scorch marks in the grass and smiled huge! "That was so amazing!"

Rep was glad Al didn't hit him with the fear, the sudden wave of heat was linked very strongly to Ferros flashbacks and he didn't fancy coming out of it singed. Still he laughed good naturedly. "It was. Your enthusiasm is great." He smirked. "Though we'll have to see about your aim. Just a wee bit. Don't worry too much though, everyone misses now and then, weapons aren't perfect."
"Now. Like the other important s**t to know is that its not always just about smacking things as hard as you can though that's important too. You have to be versatile, the moon division will be happy to defend you and others if you only let them and that can make all the difference in a fight. If your shield takes a kicking, it's life you'd turn to."
Rep seemed to think of something. "I would spar you now just to give you a taste of how shields work, but I'm banned from sparring using my weapon the island for ...reasons. We could try a shadow run if you'd like, just to flex your muscles."

Al nodded excitedly, "Can I do that again first?!" He was grinning wildly, though he had no clue what a shadow run was.

Rep shrugged. "Sure man. Go for it. I'm game for another round. Just. Let me summon Tracey first, my shield's getting a bit s**t."
Without waiting for a yes or no, he summoned the massive axe and set the tip of the blades on the ground.

Al obeyed, crashing Nuru's gleaming teeth down upon Rep's crown.
Nuru crooned affectionately at the meal. But held back, awaiting Al's next command.

Al was still incredibly excited but this time as he spun Nuru around to send flames flying in Rep's direction - he did not miss. The fire licked hungrily against Rep's shield; consuming all in it's grasp before dying out with a curl of black smoke.

Rep took the hit with as much defence as he could muster, but it still knocked him back a good ways, actually forcing him to stagger and lean on Tracey to regain his balance.
"Way ******** better. " he coughed, waving off steam as he patted the fur on his jacket. "I hate ******** fire abilities man."

Rep nodded approvingly to Al. "Aye man, you did great, you hit hard and true, that's ******** tough man, I'm a full hunter, I have a pretty solid shield yet you managed to like, whittle it down. For a guy who only just got his weapon, you show a lot of ******** promise. You just need to keep a handle on that and it'll see you through. Your weapon will like, grow with you. Be careful with that fear though, you could like accidentally set s**t on fire, and no everything's fireproof."

Al was glowing with pride and nodding exuberantly at every bit of praise he received from Rep. Even that warning was received as high praise. 'Be careful not to set things on fire' might as well have been, 'omg that's so amazing I bet you could set the island on fire without even trying'.
"Thank you," Al said as he tried to encourage Rep onward by standing a bit too close expectantly. "By the way, what is a 'shadow run'?"
