Shun couldn't help but tense a little as Nick gave him a hug. It wasn't anything against her. He just really was not the hugging sorts. He liked his personal space. Once released, he relaxed once more, nodding to her in turn as she had lightened up from that dark laugh she gave. At the mention of her being released from her leash, he peered at the pendants she procured.

Good, so they wouldn't need to worry about the Iron Judge so much here then. He was curious on how she managed to break free, but that was not important at the moment. Besides, he was soon surprised as she mentioned marriage. His brows lifted, not expecting that sort of announcement. Furthermore, it seemed that her fiance was nearby as well.

Taking the one pendant that was held out to him, he looked it over briefly, then turned to see the new Bandit king. This was quite the group they had gathered here to go against the Judge. Not only that, but it looked like the Sergeant's story had some stock to it after all, regarding Riot and Nick. Granted, the main difference was that Nick was still alive and as far as he was concerned, Riot was not out to kill him. Not now at least.

"If I survive through this whole ordeal, I'd be glad to see it," he said in response to the sudden invitation. That was all he had to say for it, as they needed to get to business soon enough. Turning towards Talon, he furrowed his brow as the man began to rant through the things he had been through recently. That.. was certainly more than he expected to hear.

"You're free to walk away," Shun said lowly before watching as the other pilot went on towards his zoid. Perhaps he wasn't done just yet then. Though, that didn't stop him from being a little concerned. If Talon was really that stretched thin, something may end up snapping in the middle of this mission. And that.. could potentially be hazardous for the rest of them, depending. Perhaps the man should sit out of this mission. He was right in that there were a lot of crazy things going on lately, though. Shun had his doubts that Rish was playing mastermind to all of this but...

Anything was possible.

Shaking his head, he looked at the other three in the area. Before heading towards his own Zoid so that they could move on, he had one more question.

"What is this exactly?" he asked, motioning to the pendant. His guess was that it had something to do with perhaps warding off the fog, but he couldn't be sure.

Nick didn't mind the tension Blade displayed with the surprise hug, she knew he was not the type to enjoy the personal bubble being popped. She was usually along the same lines, there were very few people she would make exceptions for. Very few people.

Her eyes continued to watch Talon as he fell mentally into several hoots. The poor guy. He had been through so much and there was still so much more to go. Nick released a gentle sigh, which worked well to repress a laugh over his theory. Jury was about as ancient as they come. Speaking, Jury was looking forward to having another talk with him. Which lead to another reminder.

"Talon." She called hoping that he was not too mentally aloof to comprehend this message. "Blitz and Krieg are with the Jury. He wanted you to know they are well."

Nick would wait a moment for that to sink in, if he heard, before turning attention and warm smile back to Shun. At least he was still mentally sound. Though her smile was short lived. Even as, yes, her beloved appeared from the tree to pester his former mentor the smile begun to vanish from her lips. "Those are for your protection. Unfortunately as my mind was freed from its sporadic dives to chaos it created another problem."

She held Talon's pendant to Shun in case Talon could not be coaxed back to their company. Not that she blamed him. This next bit of information was going to be a fun one as well. "When the massive explosion occurred the 'Switch', as Riot and I call it, was torn from my mind. However, with the energy from the explosion it gained itself an independent form. A physical manifestation of the black fog... We have followed it to the Empire and have reason to believe it is on its way to the war zone. It still carries my... previous ambitions."

To put it simply, the Iron Judge wanted everything to fall to chaos. Nick could only imagine what sort of trouble it was causing, or had already caused. She was still very much able to get into the Iron Judge mindset.

"Those pendants will turn black when it is around. It can use every aspect of the black fog, to include illusion. I have seen it even able to change its physical shape to any of the court or 'Spes'... the organoid I was 'fused' with. If need be, crack the pendant and the contents will keep your mind protected for a while..."

Ander folded his arms across his chest as Riot made his wonderful entrance. As straightforward as always. The thought caused him to release a long sigh. He really hadn't changed...

His brow than quirked to the mental blow out of Talon. Saga tilted his head to the side before placing one of his whiskers on Ander's shoulder and turning attention to Talon. Perhaps a form of communication? Ander shook his head. "If he would allow you near than fine..." He whispered to Saga before turning attention back to Riot.

"That you have made very clear...." He told Riot with a slight lifting of his nose.

Really, he was not going to take any blame from their creepy general if they were taking too long. Though, the information on the 'Switch' particularly helpful they still managed to mentally break one of his 'companions' for this mission.

As Talon approached, Riot's eyes returned their placement on the tattered male. The vary outspoken male. As Talon went on about his poor happens, Riot slipped a hand in his jacket to pull out another one of those shinny red apples. His hand tucked as it was cradled to his chest, nodding emphatically riot listened the whole time as the male ranted. Though the Whitebane's attention remained solely on the apple, his hand rotated along it's circumference, taking away all the outwardly blemishes. Feeling it, the apple was firm, and strong. Tilting his head down, his head drew just close enough to the fruit to take in the crisp sweet smell.

Oh. It was going to be a amazing tasting that was for sure. Rudolf almost found himself a bit jealous that he hadn't eaten it first.

As their was a pause in Talon's understanding ramble, Riot tilted his head and looked back to the male. A soft breath released from his lips, as a calm smile rested on his features. Azure eyes blinked, as his stance took a lazy lean back. Yes, Talon had been though a lot. His body was torn, broken, he had been scared half to life, and thought he had had lost dear and new friends. Though a simple repeated phase left the fallen kings lips:

"That's nice."

A human could only go through so much, Nick and himself had found out that much. Though they did have each other, and Riot wasn't about to share what Nikita had been though. It was described simply on her features, though she looked far better now. Talon would know what she had looked like before and only at her second form.

As the Soldier continued on his way, Riot raised a hand and waved back to the little MRZ, and shared just as pleasant of a smile. The hand that tucked the apple on his chest, folded out to his side as he offered it for Talon to take as he passed. Riot turned his head to fallow Talon's sight beside him.

A amused smile slipped across his lips. "Something like that..." Riot couldn't suppress a chuckle from leaving him. He had done so well to keep back the burst of laughter he felt rising in his chest....

Something like that.....indeed.

Eyes moved from Talon weither he had taken the apple or not, it remained offered to him as Riot found himself looking to Shun.

"My Friend, we would all count ourselves lucky to be able to just 'walk away'." Riot chuckled once more, before turning his sight to look back at Ander.

His hand merrily swept under his chest as the top part of his stance bent in a bow to Anders lifted nose. The dark over coat that fell over his body made the arrogant gesture all the more show worthy.

After all the world was his stage and the people his audience.

Though admittedly he did kinda look like some sort of ascentric hobo, with his unshaven blond features and lengthy blond hair. Unmatching cloths, odd garb and though being that he did take things. He could be described as poor pirate as well....

Fancy ascentric pirate hobo....

Somehow...somehow despite his rantings, the odd array of reactions to his small vent ( and it was small compared to the giant holes in rocks in the desert melted away from 'target practice' ) was expected. That offered apple from the rogue was grabbed though with a muttered 'thanks', and he paused as he heard familiar names mentioned. They were okay? But the...

That registered first. Well, being told he could walk away was dismissed immediately. ( Would he still be here if he really could? That would be abandoning everything he believed in, loved, fought for, and was. It would be traitorous and blasphemous. Nope. It was a nice thought, wasn't it?) Both responses did slow his pace, and he did glance back quizzically at both Shun and Nick. More so, he turned around and walked backwards, taking a bite of that delicious apple. "Can't do that, I'll be murdered a traitor, and I don't believe you. That blast liquidated practically everything organic in its radius. But hey! A wedding! Fancy that. " He said with a cheek full of delicious, juicy, and absolutely fantastic apple, all the while pointing with the apple at the particular party members. And he was smiling.

Talon would really let Saga near him. It was one of those things that wasn't openly trying to kill him, yet. Besides! He really hadn't met a ZOID, MRZ, or Organoid with free will that hated him. That didn't mean he wanted to be proven wrong quite yet. He had to survive this. Well, survive this with all of his original appendages still his.

This apple was amazing.

Moe, quite fed up with this shennanigain his human was doing, hopped off and decided to perch on the EVEN TALLER human. Why? Because it was tall. And it seemed harmless. The little dino cooed and decided the shoulder wasn't high enough. To the summit of Riot! With a stumptail a-wagging, and cheerful hoots and chirps, Moe attempted this feat without pulling the man's hair. It was good to be around other squishy humans. It missed humans.

Still, Talon was half listening to the conversation ahead ( behind?) him. A manifestation of crazy, psycho, kill-all-the-things fog running around in the guise of practically anyone was a problem. Those little pendants looked neat, but did they actually work? Apparently, but for how long, and against what sort of concentration? Not that he was considering testing this... But the whole theory of a giant bang creating life was now true! A leap for science! Too bad all the scientists around these parts tended to be mad as a hatter.

"Sooner this 'mission' is done and over with, the sooner we all can deal with more important things." he had to stop walking backwards, this was going to get him killed...no wait, it was going to aggravate previously injuries."Like destroying this delightful manifestation, and that wedding thing. There's going to be food there, right? "

Shun shrugged lightly at Talon's response but then looked towards Nick with a sense of puzzlement. The Jury? The way she worded that made it seem like it was sentient, much more so than most zoids. Then again, considering how old that zoid was... he supposed that was quite possible.

"I suppose," he replied to Riot. Technically any of them could physically walk away from this whole ordeal. It was more of a matter of if they should be doing that given that the amount of people who could deal with the trouble was incredibly few. He was one to believe that there was always a choice. The alternative choices could be incredibly poor and should not be taken given the consequences, but they were still there regardless.

He then looked over the pendant as Nick explained what had happened regarding herself and the fog. Well that was pleasant to hear. Now the fog had more murderous intent than before. They certainly had their work cut out before them. With luck, they wouldn't need to expend the use of the pendants. If they had to crack it, he doubted it could be used more than once. They had come away from the black fog at least once before without any ill effects, but he wouldn't want to push their luck as far as that went.

"Understood, and I agree with Talon," he murmured before moving over towards the other pilot to hand over the second pendant. As he was mulling things over, he turned back and started to head in the direction of his own zoid.

"Hopefully the fog isn't capable of taking form of organics," he muttered. It being able to take form of the court or an organoid wasn't as much of an issue compared to if it could become a doppleganger to one of the pilots.

(Talon calls shenanigans!)

Nick offered Shun a nod to his puzzled look. Jury was quite different from when he had last seen the massive ZOID. Talon at least had the pleasure of meeting him briefly as he worked on repairing the ZOIDs that had managed to make it out of the explosion. Hopefully Shun would get the chance to meet him.

"They were securely in his hands during the explosion." She explained to Talon as she returned to Riot's side. Her right hand carefully probed to interlock with his left hand. The right hand moved to briefly rub under Moe's chin.

Turning her gaze back to Shun she answered his unspoken inquiry. "I do not know how long they will last... but they will only have one use. Hopefully you will be able to run or beat it before the protection wears off. "

They would be fine, hopefully. Poor Talon had a knack for getting in more trouble than any human should. He needed a hard-hat for life. If all went smoothly Riot and herself would find the switch before it caught up to the group and would be able to deal with it.

"Its shape comes from a compilation of cords from Blaze and Jury's core. It can change it's appearance as it wishes, however, it needs the illusion caused by the black fog to blend in with anyone. Just as I have used the fog to conceal my appearance in the past."

A long bolt of lightning stretched across the clouds followed by a rolling thunder that shook even the earth. More and more rumbles followed the thunder, however it was from a great distance, carried by the winds blowing from the southeast.

Ander only shook his head to Riot's gesture. Show-offish as always... Just as he had taught him.

Saga took his leave from Ander's side as she made his slow approach toward Talon. His long whiskers moved ahead of his snout. For some strange reason he got the idea that it would have been most fun to jump on this human's head. Thankfully for Talon Saga had more sense than to act on such a thing, but the thought was curious.

"Will you allow me to touch your forehead lad?" Saga inquired with a tilt of his head. His long whiskers held off making contact until permission was given.

Ander couldn't go anywhere until Saga had finished what he was going to do. He still had yet to pick a ZOID to replace the one that had exploded. It wasn't so bad, Saga was enjoying being free from the core. Ander could just as easily travel in Saga's core to where they needed to go in any case.

Another rumble of thunder- no, that was a massive explosive. More soon followed. It was quite a distance away, but the noises were increasing and spreading out. The sky was illuminated with another brilliant light-show from the clouds.

Ander shifted his focus toward the sky. He knew the sound quite well, what a perfect sky for such an event....

"Eh." Riot answered softly with a week shrug of the hand that relinquished the apple as it was taken. What was he going to do, leave the poor man to starve?

It was just as he started to straighten. He was boarded! Riot feel the slight change of weight on his body as he felt the little MRZ swaddle up his back and rest proudly on his head.

What a personality. Amusingly he was reminded of another loved red dino, and the flexing war that happened with the beast of a dragon. He still had yet to fully teach Kagi about what it meant to be a 'man'.

"Welcome aboard." Riot chuckled as his sharp blue eyes found the corner of his upper gaze to see the strange little mechanical creature.

As the sky rumbled with more then thunder, Riot's eyes turned his head slightly as he stopped his head from tilting up too far back. He wouldn't want to disrupt his little new found friend, now would he?

He found himself more uncomfortable by the familiar blasts. Far more then usual. After all, more was at stake now...

Though all worry was taken, as he felt Nick's finger tips awake his tightly curled fist. Unknowingly it had tightened but her soft touch coxed his own to gently but firmly hold back. Azure eyes turned his head to look back at the woman beside him, her soft touch and presence caused his lips to stretch in more of a smile. Pulling his thoughts from oblivion.

Eyes were where they should be.

Releasing a sigh, Riot turned his eyes back upon Ander before looking at shun.

"I suppose?"
The Male pulled a smirk on his lips, with admittedly a bit more trouble then usual. A weak chuckle left him once more, as his free hand moved in his jacket and he pulled free the last apple he had. He was saving it for later, but...

"Now, Shun. Luck, be a lady, but after all the dealer is a man...."
Riot tossed the apple at the male with a warning bob of his hand. (Just to make sure he was paying attention.)

"You better be all in, and hope he doesn't call your bluff.
" The youngest Whitebane released the apple in the air in Shun's walking direction.

"That's for the 'rode'."
The fallen King pointed at the moving male. "After all, can't play hero with a empty stomach." He then winked.

Attention turned back to Talon. His point turned acute to the dino on his head. "Hey." Rudolf spoke with a grand slue of amusement.

"Can I keep him?" he asked, partly in joke and gesture to kind with how amusing the creature was.

Moe, aboard the pink haired human and loving the view, cooed and patted the man's head reassuringly. Silly humans. Still, he hadn't met a human he didn't like. Except that one. But one out of millions wasn't bad, right? Good odds. With another coo, perhaps an indignant honk at being tilted back, the little dino regained its balance. The boom of artillery and the black clouds above was soon the focus of the little Dino. It didn't like how it seemed so close. It meant they would be charging into battle again, didn't it? With a huff, Moe took grip of two clawfuls of pink hair and was about ready to 'mush' this human in the other direction. That was until Nick appeared, or moved closer. Moe purred and leaned into the chin scratching, even playfully nomming her fingers when the delightful sensation was stopped.

Meanwhile, Talon was still enjoying his apple while things were explained. Did he believe her? Could he believe her? Better question: was there any reason not to believe her? An eyebrow rose, and another large bite of the apple was had. He found himself shrugging and accepting this nonsense. Despite that, he found his gaze falling upon the horizon.

Riot, Talon found, was a riot. Nice kid. Reminded him of someone... But that wasn't really important at the moment. "Naw. The House always wins. The dealer sees all bluffs. You just have to hope he's human. " With a laugh, he spun around and heard a voice address him.

Mechanical, and kind, Talon looked at Saga, feeling like he should quickly run away. Funny, that look was the same look Nick was giving him. He eyed the both of them, and nodded to the mechanical creature, "Approach. No jumping on my head. "

Another question was asked, this time from Riot about the absolutely obnoxious Moe. " If you bring him back before his bedtime, sure! "

To Nick's words, Shun nodded grimly in understanding. The illusion aspect of the fog was going to be trouble; he could tell that much right now. Something also told him that the success rate of this particular mission wasn't all too high. But, they were going to have to try and pull through it, one way or another. After all, Talon and himself had already survived through a few temple runs... among other things in Talon's case.

Hearing Riot respond to him, he turned and saw the nod briefly before an apple was tossed in his direction. The soldier managed to catch the fruit, and he paused to look it over.

"I doubt I'd be here right now if I didn't plan on giving my all," he stated. Looking between Riot and Talon, he shrugged somewhat impassively at the various casino references. Though, he couldn't help but give somewhat of a flat expression towards the bandit as he brought up hero business. He was just getting that everywhere he went, didn't he? He was just doing what was needed of him, even if they were somewhat unsavory things. And he still considered heroes to be those that you would want to look up towards. He wasn't really sure if anyone in this group would quite fit that bill.

"..Thanks," he said a little flatly, keeping a hold of the apple.
PostPosted: Thu Apr 25, 2013 3:23 pm

"I shall keep my feet on the ground... you have my word."

With permission given Saga allowed his whiskers to lightly make contact with Talon's forehead. The organoid's golden eyes flashed. In the instant the whiskers made contact with flesh Talon would be overcome by a sense of 'clear mind' or a very literal mental enlightenment and understanding. How fortunate for Talon that this particular organoid was gifted with the ability of wisdom and an understanding of the human mind. It had been what had protected Ander's mind from the fog... for the most part. Saga had the unique ability to undo what damage the black fog could.

The contact only lasted a mere second. In that second Talon would see Jury's memories of him scooping the Black Wing Liger in his hands before the massive blast. The armor in the hand alone protected the liger from most of the damage while internally some altered version of the fog was used to aide in Blitz's physical repair. Jury does what he wants...

"Thank you." Saga bowed his head before turning back to join Ander's side.

Nick sighed to the exchange between Riot and Shun. She gave Riot's shoulder a careful nudge with her cheek before turning attention back to the group.

"Shun, I appreciate what you did for me. Please do not think sour of the title. I will gladly count you a hero, if only the Empire and Republic knew what you are risking for their benefit."

Another loud rumble tore through the air followed by several other rumbles from the cannons of ZOIDs. The battle was far off, but it was now in full swing. A flash of light illuminated the forest causing Nick to lift her head toward the clouds.

-Love, we need to go. It's coming.- She warned Riot through his thoughts.

Ander turned his head back to follow Nick's gaze. That was... odd. The sound of seekers rang through the air amidst the thunder and very distant cannon fire. Really? They hadn't even gotten away from the starting point. At this rate they will never reach the camps....

"I hate to break up this touching moment, but we should be on our way." Ander turned attention back to the group and Saga who would have to be his ride on this trip.

Riot's own grin grew to Talon's words, to his own reference. Oh, he liked this one.

Chuckling to the comment of bring Moe, back before his bed time. Well, if that was the case, it would be best for the little Dino to stay with his main friend. After all, there was no telling when or if they would be comming back.

As his gaze focused to Shun and his 'thanks', Riot only raised a hand with a shrug. Well, at least he got a 'thanks'. Though his expression seemed to say otherwise. Had Nick not nuzzled his shoulder, he might have asked for his apple back.

"Ah, Damn..."
Riot sighed as Nick warned his thoughts. Right. "best, you return to Mr. T, little buddy." Riot's blue eyes looked up to the little Dino and it's snug little perch. His hand raised to offer Moe a little bit of assistance.

"May the wind, be at all of your back's..." The Whitebane offered in a sigh, as he look to the other giving a little nod to the three males. He really did wish the best for them as It looked like they would be parting ways so soon. Sad, though he was hunted, Riot was actually found of people and being around others. It was a missed luxury as of late, but nothing he regretted in his actions.

Looking to Nick, Riot gave a little smile.

Back to Work.

The mental image of Blitz and Kreig escaping didn't do much to ease Talon's mind. But it was a small lift in spirits. Perhaps it showed, perhaps it didn't. It did instill a feeling that perhaps it would be best to get this over with. There was more Wasteland to explore. The odds of meeting friends again did wonders for the spirit.

Moe chirped and cooed, only to huff in minor annoyance as its human said it had to be back before bedtime. What nonsense! With a huff, it took the offered hand of help, stepping on it carefully before leaping comically to the ground with limbs a flailing, landing on its feet. It stared up at the odd couple, squeed as its little tail wagged, before it too hopped around to bound back to perch on Talon's shoulder.

"Thanks for the meal. " Talon said, raising the husk of what used to be an apple before tossing it to the brush. Recycling~ Or, composting rather. It wasn't important. He was grateful for any form of food at this point. Though now with the thought of going into battle, perhaps the small snack was a bad idea. Perhaps it wasn't. Apples were loaded with sugar needed for the body to fuction.

With Moe on his shoulder, Talon smirked before he wandered back to his great metal monster that seemed to groan with relief that it was going to move again. It had heard, seen, and sensed the battle before them. The Tyrant was excited. A proper battle, hopefully.

But this was a mission. It needed to be completed quickly and precisly. Dawdling like this had killed quite a bit of time. Safe, relativly, underneath the canopy Talon clicked on the combat system, pulled data from the scanning system, and waited for orders. Funny... he was waiting for orders. With a wide, mad, grin, he laughed to himself and Moe. "Destination?" he inquired, taking a few moments to reel in the urge to just charge forward and blast everything to pieces--friend or foe.

The oncoming storm was ominous to say in the very least, but Shun wasn't expecting this mission to be easy anyway. As Nick addressed him, he regarded her silently, then let out a sigh. He just nodded to her, hen looked over to where the dark clouds were in the distance.

Not disagreeing with Ander, he made his way to his own Zoid, pausing once as he heard Riot gave well wishes. Holding onto the apple that had been tossed at him moments ago, he nodded to the bandit, then climbed up into the cockpit, getting his machine ready for what was to come shortly.

"Bent, Zutnic. Hope you guys are ready," he murmured before letting out a slow breath. He took some time to try and clear his head while he awaited further orders.
PostPosted: Tue May 07, 2013 11:12 am

Another flash of light illuminated the sky followed by a roar of thunder. The distant rumbles were becoming increasingly frequent and closer with the encroaching storm. Zutnic couldn't help but admire how the light reflected off of his far superior metallic armor. As soon as Atelius returned he would be jealous of how much more spectacular it was! Clearly the shine made the sky lights look so much better on his own hide than they did in the sky.

"Zutnic is shiny and sharp and making master proud!" The striker huffed proudly as he buffed his frame, blades along his back bristled proudly.

That proud stature melted into a tight curl however as a smoking redler illuminated the clouds with its own brilliant display of fire. His chin rest on the ground as his spine blades begun to rattle. It wasn't the explosion that caused such a reaction, rather the black shadow that dove toward the group from the ex-zoid.

The shadow split into twelve different fragments, all resembling smaller versions of seekers. Saga stood on his toes and lowered his head as he moved in front of Quin. So much for being out of here... but perhaps it was too late to intervene in the battle between the republic and empire. By the sound of the sound of it, fighting was already in full swing.

Quin's brow furrowed. Speak of a devil and they find a way to make a stage appearance. He wasn't sure what kinds of weapons would work against whatever this was. A mass of cords taking the shape of whatever it wishes was a fine thing to add to the list of weird crap that has been going on recently. And Ander thought that he had left that behind...

Nick released Riot's hand as her arm begun to bristle. Six of the twelve made her their target while three went for the tyrant and the last three for Shun. Their black crimson eyes poised to make contact with their targets. They made no note of Saga and Ander. But that wasn't the best of it. -She- was close, and by the flash in Saga's eye he knew it too...

"Talon, Shun, get out of here now!"
Nick roared.

As Nick's hand released from Riot, his attention shot from his 'farewell' to the sky. Sharp eyes darted to the shadows, his step slid back and he quarter turned himself tightly to be at Nick's back.

Quickly his hand shifted passed his coat and he pulled out a 'borrowed' pistol. it wasn't his .55 magnum, but it would have to do. His stance spread to be able to move with Nick, as well as have her back.

-Love! A barrier?!- Riot quickly suggested, his thoughts quicker then lightening to Nick. He knew she wanted her friends to be safe, but he wanted her safe...more.

s**t.

A growl rattled though his throat.

There was far too meany...and still just one.

Wait...

no...

Quickly his eyes tried to keep with the movements. He fired off a few quick shots if not to hinder the shadows' trajectory. The Male wasn't about to wait for a counter attack.

Though...

It was too late.
