"Wow. I suppose I've only been to the countryside a few times though. It's the same situation, but reversed." Before Otto could ask, she said, "I lived in New York. You can imagine."
Seeing as Otto's head wasn't that big, it didn't take long before the entire thing was a mop. "I think I can spare you the wash. You do wash your hair regularly, don't you?" she teased, turning the shower off and reaching up to put the nozzle back where it belonged.
Now where did she put those scissors ... She was always losing things in this big new house- she still couldn't remember exactly where she put everything.
Oh, right. In the sink drawers. She pawed through them for a moment, and then procured the small metal instruments. "How short are you thinking? I don't want to chop too much off. After all, what's gone is gone. I can only make your hair shorter, not longer."

"Woah, really? Grimy part of New York or that nice part of it?" He teased, mostly. "I been there a couple times. Once or twice for a mission, and once when I was like... five? I don't actually remember that though."
Otto gave Ami a sassy brow raise, "Duh?" Of course he washed his hair regularly. Can't you smell his amazing hygiene from there, Ami? Or does the overwhelming presence of Axe spray nullify it?
The teen ringed out the ends of his hair before sitting up again, ruffling it out of habit. "Um.. short enough so its off my neck and outta my eyes? Just no buzz cuts. I ain't into the army look."

Ami rolled her eyes once more. Boys were so simple with their hair. Always just "make it so I can see" and that's that.
A sight, and she began snipping. "Oh? No handsome soldier?" she said snidely, pinning a part of his hair up so she could cut underneath. She had a hairstyle in mind for him, one that he would hopefully find attractive. Well no, he'd have to, because Ami wouldn't take no for an answer!
"The nice part, by the way." A pause. "So how are you and Eva?"

"Handsome, sure, just not the soldier kinda handsome. Too boring and serious." He chided back with a poker face. "So ya musta been well off, huh?" The nice part of New York was for rich people, wasn't it? He imagined it to be very gallant and posh. Otto tried to seem nonchalant as she asked about Eva, though not entirely succeeding as such. "Good, I guess? I don't get to see her a whole lot but.. good. Not much changes, really." Except she was maybe 1.5 times more snuggly with him. Whcih he approved of a lot, even if he never said as much. chimarii Sorry I was offline so long! Watched a movie with dad and it went on longer than I thought xD <3

"Not particularly. We were just thrifty." It was partially true. Ami's family had been well off, but her father never liked to use it. He stored it away all her life for her college. She'd learned to be fashionable without being expensive, which was probably why her style was so hipsterish.
She combed and neatly leveled his hair, snipping here and there. It was somewhat difficult to talk and cut at the same time. "Good, good. Too much change isn't good for a relationship, I think." She'd stuck with the same boyfriend for 6 years after all. "You've taken her on a date, yes?"bittiface no dont worry i was out for a run ;_;

"Geez. Why bother livin in the fancy end of town if ya gotta be pinchin' every penny?" Otto didn't actually care either way. It just wasn't something he'd do. "That does explain yer uh.." He gave her attire a once over. "Yanno." He didn't say hipster this time. Be proud. A date? Otto stared blankly at her. "Um... not... yet."

Ami raised an eyebrow. "Explain my what, Otto?"
She'd come back to Eva later.

Ami sighed and aggressively snipped out another piece of hair.
"How many times do I have to tell you? I'm not a hipster!" Yes she was. "Seriously."
A blustery sigh and she she shook her hand through the air. "Nevermind, I give up. Now why haven't you taken Eva anywhere?"

Note to self: do not piss off the lady cutting your hair. Otto counted his blessings and hoped she wouldn't take off too much for his insensitive remarks. Lesson learned? Not likely. "Conflictin' schedules." Otto replied, "When we both got some free time I wanna take her somewhere off the island. Maybe a beach or city.." He still wasn't sure what they'd do, other than enjoy each others company. Maybe what he usually did on his own? He wasn't sure if she would be up for arcades and skateboards though... She was an 'older woman' after all. "I'll have to ask her."

"City. I think you two would fit in better is all," she advised. The beach was wonderful, but she really saw Eva being awestruck by all the complexities a city had to offer. Then again, Otto would probably be just as agog. Even better then.
She had only begun to work towards the back of his head, and there was still another pseudo-layer to do after that. "Don't take her to New York. You probably aren't ready for that."

"Aw C'mon, I ain't that much of a bumpkin." Otto grumbled, his brows furrowing. "I been there before, like I said." Not to mention he was indeed awestruck when he was there. But he wouldn't mention that part.
"Fine, what city would you suggest?"

"You could've fooled me," Ami said jovially, somehow managing to stroke his hair soothingly while cutting it at the same time. It was really coming along now, parts beginning to show some semblance of decency. Of course, Ami was no master haircutter, but she liked to thing it was more put together than the average bumpkin. She'd been cutting her own, her father's and for the later part, Adam's hair. Always the money saver.
A good place for a date? That was tough. Although she was friends with Eva (though the girl really belonged to Lex more than her) she had no idea what kind of things Eva was interested in.
Well... She was girlish. Slightly childish, perhaps moreso naive than anything else. Otto was young as well- that had to be taken into account as many of the nice bars went off the register. "How about San Diego?" she offered. "Don't you think Eva would like the zoo and the aquarium and what not? Plus if it ends up awkward there are quite a few other things to do in the city I'm sure." She shrugged and went back to cutting. ""There's always disneyland for the baby," she added jokingly, referring of course to young Otto.

He'd gone with Nevada to an aquarium on their date before he went out with Eva. It would seem weird to go again with another girl. It would make him feel like a man whore or something. Zoo? That might be better. It would also be mostly outside which would make Otto happy. Or about as happy as Otto could get.
His eyes narrowed at Ami, once again on the bad end of the teasing bat. "I'll keep it in mind..... San Diego, not Disney." Unless Eva suggested Disney. Then he'd kind of have to.
"M'not a baby, hipster chic."

Ami smirked and said, "A zoo date sounds cute. No pressure for disgustingly cliche situations like the movies or makeout points." Ami made a gagging noise at the very idea. She'd never understood why anyone would go somewhere on a date like that.
"How's it looking, youngin'," she taunted back, gesturing to the mirror. Of course, it was only a little over half done, so it couldn't have looked stunning. "I'm assuming the lack of complaints means you like it?"
