Virtus had a good habit of saying literally everything in his head, which was good and bad in its own ways. The kicker was that he never saw the bad. It was probably a good idea to keep him on a leash, because he was very easy to get information out of, or take advantage of.
He was innocent, and terribly gullible, but usually he did all the work to himself and didn't need others to prompt him into making mistakes.
But he did his best!
"I don't think we like knights because they're not from the same places we are, and they don't understand our goals. But you're right, everyone belongs where they are, and should be proud of their homes... but if you knew more about where your powers come from, and the places you're named after, then maybe..." he shook his head, not sure what he was saying and tapping his chin in thought. It was hard to agree with someone while disagreeing with them.
"I think we all need to fight, sometimes, because that's what we've been told to do and if everyone believes it, it's hard to change. But one at a time, like this, I think we can stop fighting and talk it out, even if we don't agree." But others on his team didn't see that, and he didn't understand that. They didn't want to just talk and make friends: they wanted change. He supported them, but he didn't connect. He didn't understand their passion, for one reason or another.

"Yes, it would be nice if we didn't have to fight," Cybele said after a bit of smiling and nodding as if she wasn't really listening. She was trying to. She really didn't want to fight, and she could maybe embrace peace and love and not fighting, talking it out instead no matter what. Well, until the next agent of chaos insulted her court or tried to sweet talk her over. Then fists would fly. She knew that, really. That peace was impossible, and even fighting for it didn't really work. idealistic almost to the point of stupidity. Thinking it would happen was stupid, anyway. Wanting it wasn't, and that was all that she and Virtus had said. "It's good you and I don't have to." She paused, turning a bit more serious. "I was.. going to.." join the Dark Mirror, you know. But of course that bit of knowledge didn't need to be told to everyone she came across. She'd already told a few people, yes, but no Dark Mirrors she'd just made not enemies with. He was being nice and not pressuring her to join her, and she didn't want that to change. "Knights are named after places," she said instead, thinking about it. "We're not." "Do you dislike them? It would be better if you didn't. If you don't have to be enemies with me, you don't have to be enemies with them, either, right?" She paused again.Maybe she was being a little idealistic, but talking to people one at a time probabally could work, and unless he was really trying to trick her, which she doubted, she couldn't really see Virtus disliking a whole group of people. But the other thought was still in her head. She phrased it a different way. "Virtus? If there was a senshi who was... going to join your court, sort of, but then... didn't... would you be... mad?"

It was always nice to have someone agree with him! Usually, he was the one agreeing with everyone else, and doing his best to accommodate them and their opinions and ideas. His will was very easily bent, and though he did believe in certain things vigorously, he never made his point over that of others.
So when he found people who had the same views as he did, it was much easier for him to feel relaxed and happy, and in turn it was easier for him to agree with them and make them feel good, too.
"You're not? I thought you were named for planets and things? I mean. We are. Or are they named for us? Actually, I've never really understood any of that, or really why it's so important. But my queen thinks it is what defines us and she's been right so far." He smiled brightly, not saying that with any sort of sarcasm or irony.
He didn't dislike anyone, even knights, but he did as he was told. He was told that knights couldn't be trusted and were dangerous, and he didn't like thinking bad of people but he had to trust his allies were telling him the truth. Of course, more Senshi and Negas had beaten him up than Knights had, but he was glad he didn't have any personal experience with it.
"Mad? No! I mean, I can definitely understand why someone would want to join, and I can understand why they didn't want to. You have to do what you feel is best for you, and for the people you care most about. If you think you can do more good as a senshi of the White Moon, then that's what you should do. But if you think you could help more of your friends by joining the Dark Mirror, and if you believe in the same things we believe, then we'd be glad to welcome you!"

This always seemed to happen. Cybele always ended up saying something stupid, or maybe going back to something else she'd said that was stupid, usually that promise she'd made. "Is it really that obvious? That I was talking about myself, I mean?" She wasn't smiling anymore, now that things were turning a bit more serious, but it wasn't as hard talking about it anymore, just a bit awkward. "I... I was going to join the Dark Mirror Court," she successfully managed to say. A smallish sigh escaped her lips. "I... promised to, actually..." It crossed her mind that telling someone from that court this fact wasn't something that had happened yet. She supposed Virtus was a good choice for the first one to know, as he had healed rather than attacked her. "I don't know if I will, though. Probably not? I got some 'join Chaos' speeches that kind of made me not want to, but some of you guys have been nice to me..." She looked up at him, face soft, but she still wasn't smiling. "So..." that conversation wasn't awful, but it was awkward enough that changing the subject seemed appealing. "Is it true we're named after planets? I guess that would make sense... I've never heard that before, though..." Just lots of people vaguely mentioning it, or telling her to go back to her planet as if Earth wasn't her home.

Virtus blinked.
"Oh! I didn't know I wasn't supposed to think that! I didn't mean to assume, if you meant someone else, but I guess when people say they're friend they usually mean themselves, but I didn't mean to make you uncomfortable and I'm sorry!" He was, too. He sometimes just let his mouth run faster than his brain.
He listened intently as she explained, nodding his head.
They weren't all bad guys, though some of them took their duties a little too intensely for his taste. He liked to think they were friendly, and that they just cared about their future. They had to do what they were told to, and what they had been created for, but he understood that the Order side did, too.
He could tell she didn't want to talk about it any more, though, so he pressed on when she changed the topic.
"I think so! I've heard that, and I try not to get things wrong but it is a little weird right? Planets out there for us. Who would have thought you could have your own planet?!" He laughed at that, looking excited. "One day I want to go to another planet. It would be so fun!"

There was a bit of rather awkward nodding on Cybele's part as Virtus apologized. "It's ok. Really." She said after a moment, meaning it, but not enough that she wanted to talk more about certain topics. Especially not when there were much better things to be talking about. "Planets?" she repeated thoughtfully. She was growing a bit starry-eyed, and not just because she had looked up to consider the night sky. Even little magic, like her false bow and the other senshi's powers were enough to impress her. The thought that she might have a vacation home in space? Yeah, she was pretty excited. Or she would have been, if not for one thing. "It doesn't make sense, though. I don't think there's a Planet Cybele... And even if there was, and I own it... How does that make me some magical superhero thing? Or is that not what you mean? Is it the other way around?" One thing did make sense, though. She was finally realizing why everyone was acting like she didn't belong on Earth. Not that it made her feel any better about it. "I do believe you," she reassured him quickly. "It's just... Well, like you said, it's weird. I've been hearing about it for a while, but I still don't really understand." She was smiling, though. This time it wasn't so bad. This time some things, at least, were falling into place. "Can we really go to space?" She wondered, still looking up. "Someone told me it was beautiful."

"I don't really know how it works," he said honestly, looking confused but not upset about it. A lot of people didn't know some things, so he was not going to beat himself up for not knowing much about the planets. If she wanted to know how to take care of pet rabbits he would be all over it!
He had three bunnies.
"I... I'm sure there are senshi that know more about it than I do! I'm sorry, maybe I shouldn't have mentioned it, since I can't answer questions, but if you do find out about it all I'd love to learn a bit more! I'll ask around my team members too!"
Then they could just share what they learned and they would both be better off for it.
"I bet you it is really nice up there though. In space! Just seeing things that we have never had on this planet, or just... exploring new places that no one else has! I'd want to do that some day, but I don't know if we can! I mean us in the DMC. Which wouldn't make sense, would it? I'll have to ask." He laughed leisurely at that, looking excited.

Cybele considered his words while staring at the stars as if by doing so long enough they would answer her questions. However, if they knew more than the two, they weren't telling. "It's ok. You don't have to apologize," she said again, ever so slightly more annoyed this time. Still, when she turned back to him, it was with a smile. "I'll ask some other senshi about it," she promised, though she sort of doubted she'd get straight answers about the whole space thing anytime soon. Perhaps it was all just some weird legend. "If I find out how to get there, you can come. Well... If you can." He didn't seem worried about it, and she doubted it would matter. She stood at last, using the wall for support as she took a step away from Virtus. It made her head spin. Lovely. She was sick and exhausted, no matter how much talks with nice not enemies about stars and stupidity distracted her from this fact. "I need to get to bed..." she said, almost like an apology.

Virtus smiled brightly. He always apologized for everything, but not out of habit or insincerity. He never wanted anyone to feel bad, or to be upset, or anything like that: if they knew that he really was invested in their feelings and in getting the information they wanted, then it might make them feel better about it even if he didn't know everything. He was still trying!
He would always keep trying.
"I would love to come! I'm sure no one would mind but we will both make sure it would be okay before we went, right? I think it would be really fun, though!
When she said she needed to go to bed, though, he blinked and looked up at the sky again as if realizing that the stars were not just pretty homeworlds far away, but also an indicator of how late the night had gotten.
"Oh! You're right! Well, I hope you have a good night and it was really nice talking to you! I hope we can meet again, and maybe go to space some time!" He offered her a quick hug before he let her go and waved, humming brightly to himself as he turned to wander off.

Cybele considered his final statement thoughtfully. "If we're, uh... allowed? Ok, I'll ask. After I ask about how to get there, though. I'm sure it will be be great." Her words were cheerful, but she failed to mention that she didn't care at all what they allowed her to do, since if they thought the whole not enemies thing was a bad idea they were obviously mistaken. It also wasn't like she'd let her court make her do anything at all before. Maybe it would have been all right to have talked for a bit longer, but it was probabally smarter to leave. Hopefully they'd get to talk again soon anyway, after she'd found out about space and maybe some other things, of course. She returned his hug and smiled in farewell. "Goodnight, Virtus. It was very nice to meet you." She was back to being very polite, but she meant it, and when she turned to walk away she was in a much better mood than when she'd come. Lithia_Brandon ~The End~ (On my end at least. Virtus is adorable, by the way.)
