Coming out of her own swing, Maple caught the tail end of the impressive combo attack from the two boils; AJ's might sweeping kick followed by Andrew's display of fire. But, both were met quickly by a retaliating beast, its claws and fury coming down upon them both.
Even catching Maple in the wake of the swipe against Andrew. It sent her humble broom flying from her hands and the witch down on the ground again with a yelp and a cry of pain. Her sides were bruised something fierce and her poor skirt and blouse were so dirty and torn in places.
"Th-this isn't-t .. f-fun..." she mumbled pitifully. This was more of the peril that AJ had mentioned earlier.

Contrast to Andrew and Maple, though his attacks were not effective as always, the shadow creature was not a hard one for AJ. He just maybe, need to take it more serious, especially when he saw Maple was pushed onto the ground. Obviously this shadow creature didn't know what's gentleman meant. He picked up some sands and threw it towards the creature to distract it a bit, hope getting some times for the witch to get up. Quote: HP: 10/ 30 Damage: 2 Stamina: 21/ 25 Boss HP: 17/ 50

The thing didn't even look near dead, he hurt and he didn't want to do this anymore. That portal was looking very much better at the moment. He took off not even checking to see if they were following.

- All players must roll a 6 sided dice. If any player rolls a 1 or 6, you have triggered a boss! The DM will be in charge of rping and keeping track of the boss's HP. The boss has 50/ 50 HP and does 5 auto damage every time it is attacked. You can attack it unlimited times within discretion. Attacks go as normal. The boss is shadow shaped, a remnant of the old world, noone can go any further until the boss is defeated. IF NOONE rolls a 1 or 6, or you have defeated the boss, you may proceed to round 2. If two players roll a 1 or 6, you now have two bosses... congratulations.
- This initial roll does not cost stamina!

No, getting pushed to the ground hadn't bee anything that Maple would have liked and totally not a gentlemen thing for the creature to do. Of course, being a defeatist, the witch was very inclined to stay on the ground but with her broom not in her hands she just couldn't stay where she was (besides being an easy target, but... would that be so bad to just give up totally?). Finding some strength, she pushed herself to pick up her fallen weapon of sorts, finding the return of the polished wood against her skin to be almost comforting.
And encouraging even. Enough that once she heard Andrew's declaration, she was for one in agreement and followed him with a little bit of a stumble.
The return to the woods was so welcoming and Maple felt instantly better once she hit ground back at Amityville.
But it didn't last long. Because she was dragged back through, finding herself back on the island again. Whyyyyyyyyyy.

AJ wanted to go back. He tried, but the moment he spotted another shadow thing, he was done. Just done. Nope, no more. "AJ I'm sore, there are more of those things and no treasure is worth dissipation. I'm done." While the demon disliked being touched, he held no bars against grabbing AJ's wrist and dragging him back through the portal. "Maple, let's go home."

Although AJ wanted to continue the fight with the shadow creature, Maple and Andrew had enough of it, both of they looked unhappy and tired, with all the wounds and bruises they got. " I am sorry, I didn't expect it would be....that hard." If he was alone, he probably chose to keep on with the fight, however, there were his friends and they already said that they wanted to leave. He will respect their choices, maybe he can come alone next time. As a result, he didn't struggle when Andrew grabbed him on his wrist. He was actual kinda surprised a body contact with the demon as he told him he hates creeple touching him at all. No treasures from this adventure, but it did enchance their relationship, AJ didn't go home empty hand. He stared at his wrist and smile was on his face. That's much worthier than the treasure he didn't have a look to see!

She was tired, but didn't notice the same thing that Andrew had. Too lost in her thoughts of feeling drained from this adventure. Maple planted her broom upon the ground and leaned on very carefully; it was still shorter than her and unstable at the bottom so obviously not the most secure thing.
But a nice relieved sigh escaped her when she heard the flame demon. There would be no objections from her and she turned quickly to follow. "Y-you d-didn't kn-know..." she tried to comfort AJ even though he had mentioned something of the likes in the library. Well, maybe not to this extent.
They were going home, though, and that was a much more comforting thought than anything.
