Rish watched on without a twinge of emotion in her features. The grin she had displayed vanished once Ranee begin to relay her concerns for what the contents of her 'medication. Was there really that much distrust? Perhaps. This was no concern over that matter in any case.
"No." She spoke flatly.
Gracefully she begun to walk around the flowers and bed to place herself in front of the window. She didn't have to watch Zion to know he would be doing just as he was supposed to.
"It will help." Rish spoke coolly as she looked over her shoulder at Ranee. "That is all you need to know."
She drew a soft breath before looking back out of the window. Once more her hands folded securely behind her back.. "I find your lack of faith disturbing... How very disappointing. Would you prefer I find another to serve as my special guard? It would not be hard to replace you."

Zyon, only paused in his approach as the private shifted in her sit, he would let her have the pride in moving herself and without his help.
"Thank you." Left Zyon just as calmly as his first suggested words, and Rish answered Ranee. Just as smoothly as he approached, he pulled away after a passing moment. The XO straightened and took back the needle, it had been so fine in the injection sight that not a drop of blood seeped to the surface of her skin.
As his postured righted, his gloved hands capped the needle and slipped it away just as soundlessly as before.
The soft tap of his leather boots, clicked softly as he took a adjacent step to stand as Rish's silent shadow. He stood at her side and a little behind, though he still faced Ranee. White gloved hands folded in front of him as he waited. Azure eyes closed resting while his stoic scruffy expression remained strong; he remained silent as to his rank...

The way the general spoke sent shivers down her spine. She had to reply quick.
"I apologize General, I would rather you not M'am." though she had managed a grin out of the general earlier. There was probably quite a few eager beavers hoping to take this spot, however... The one who gave her that mark wouldn't be all to pleased she'd abandoned her post. Ranee did however give a slight nod back to the general.
No she couldn't get replaced as much as she would like to be right now. She wanted to be home no more of this crazy galavanting through temples and the like. But the first and the last she prayed but Secretly doubted. How could she possibly retain sanity?
But she still allowed him to administer the drug whatever it was she waited for it to take affect.

Just as the General had warned there would be a slight pinch in the neck, but nothing more. Rish even glanced back to see if the young soldier's hair had begun to fall out. Nothing. It was a perfect success than. Giving Zion a swift glance she returned her visual focus to the world outside the window.
"Why?" Rish inquired with a chilled tone to put even ice to shame. "You seem so eager to return home and partake in the luxuries of sailing on your father's foul wind."
Turing smoothly on her heel she bared her single gaze upon Ranee. Her deep blue eye unblinking as she looked into Ranee's eyes. It was so sharp a gaze it was as if she were peering into the young soldier's soul. Her lips thinned as she watched carefully. Partly for the reaction and partly to continue to monitor her physical condition. No, the injection would in no way turn her into a monster, but what the injection was for might have caused some side effects, such as thinning of the hair or loss of sight. When none of those were apparent Rish knew that the injection had come just in time.
"You lack the motivation of even a mediocre soldier." She spoke after another moment of contemplation. "Perhaps I had spoken too soon when I believed you would be ready for any mission any time soon. I pity the soldier that would have to rely on you to have their back... You lack a reason for being, a why to your actions. You have no purpose. "
Despite the harsh words Rish remained still and cool toned. Not once did her voice raise or lower. "Just the fear of something terrible befalling you..."

Zyon, eyes only opened just faintly to capture the quick glance he was given by Rish. Perhaps he had come to know when a silent look would come his way, though happenstance or not the azure orbs locked sight with the deeper blue ones in that instant.
A noticeable deeper breath was taken by Zyon as his strong chest rose quietly. Eyes fell on Ranee as the General spoke, though he was vary tentative to move and be ready for the General the tenth of a second he was needed.
Though his stance was vary still. Much like a watchful hound, ready to move at the request of his master.

Nothing happened? Ranee had tensed up earlier Ranee caught the glance between the general and Zion, what was supposed to happen was there supposed to be something big? What had she narrowly avoided? Had she known Ranee might have had a heart attack.
Ranee narrowed her eyes a bit, part of that was true the luxuries but, her father wasn't like a lot of them. At least the part she knew, most people didn't like the nobles but not all of them were rotten granted most were, and she was sure when she got a little older she would be made aware of their own skeletons and have to carry it like the rest of the nobles and their own burdens. As much as she loved the lavish lifestyle some of the things that came with it were less than enticing.
Rish's words were sharp and most of them true, she really didn't want to be a soldier. She had hoped and highly expected everything would go along quietly they had been at peace with the republic and nothing unexpected ever happened despite the 'prestigious' position she had been bought or persuaded for by her father.
The reason she was even here hadn't been her choice but staying now was, it wasn't just her life on the line anymore all the people she cared about were in danger, despite everything she wasn't exactly afraid for herself entirely anymore. She was certainly afraid though but she couldn't say how she actually felt.
Nor did she want to go on another mission however, it had to be done and some how she needed to get the general not to replace her, so much for a carefree military experience. Ranee's gaze stiffened into something more determined. She had a reason to be here though she couldn't fully tell Rish about it as much as she did want to be left alone, she had been marked.

Rish allowed the room to be bathed in silence as she waited for an answer from Ranee. The whole time her eye remained unblinking upon the young solder. Cold, calculating and very disappointed. So, she couldn't speak, she wouldn't? The dear must be hiding something. Though, the determination in her look was noted.
"How noble." Rish finally spoke after that long agonizing pause of silence. "But you still lack the motivation. Fear might work for a while, but it will continue to limit your own potential."
She took a step closer to the bed and shifted her gaze to further look down upon Ranee. "You will never be more than a spoiled brat if you do not change your mindset. Though your reasons for secrecy are noble and I would encourage it with others, you still lack your why. All I see when I look into your dull eyes is fear and regret. Your life will be very short if that is all you can base your actions on."
Rish paused to allow her cold words to sink in. "Now, I will inquire one more time... why are you still here? What is your motivation? Answer honestly."

As Rish went on to speak, Zyon's eyes fell close and a longer deep breath was taken in and vary slowly released. He could sense that they were going to be there for a while. No matter, there was a point that needed to be proven and well, being by the General's side was his job. The pay was worth it, and especially were the perks with being the General's XO.
Unmoving, Deadthorn remained in his stoic stance. Eyes opened once more to look at the two woman. Ranee was young, and The General was season in more unique ways of life, with all the trials she face with achieving her ranking. There was some wisdom and forced motivation that could be learned. Zyon did know such a thing better then all, being by her side. Rish was a vary threatening force to reckon with. If one wasn't moved or 'coxed' were she wanted they were destroyed in her wake.
The General was a -vary- ambitious woman...
No doubt, it would prove interesting to see which of the two paths the young private would take.

The Silence was unsettling why didn't she say anything? Ranee wasn't sure what to say in the first place then again when Rish finally did speak again she was a little annoyed.
Ranee hated being talked down to but the questions were frustrating she knew they had meaning if she could find it. as much of a sting as her words did have they were true as much as she didn't want to admit it, Ranee was very afraid of a lot of things.
But her frustration nothing was the way it was supposed to be anymore. If she could move she tensed again causing her body burn with pain if only she could move normally she felt a need to express herself more than ever and now she couldn't at least not without harming her body anymore. "This whole thing is a mess, everything's turned on it's head." she grumbled under her breath. She didn't think herself normally as childish, but that might then be her immaturity talking which she never would admit to having.
"I don't know!" she hollered after another long silence. She didn't have an answer for her, after a time she answered softer "I don't know I really don't, I just know I need to be." She realized her fists had been clenched she released them slowly her hands burned like the rest of her but she hardly felt it with the adrenaline going. Aside from her one reason there was nothing else keeping her here at least it shouldn't. She did enjoy admittedly the company of some of the soldiers.
"I need to be here." she repeated besides those two land rovers needed a set of eyes in the sky sometimes there were things only an Aerial unit could see.

Rish stood perfectly still as Ranee finally boiled over. It was a bold move indeed to loose such control in front of someone who held the entire empire in the palm of her hand. But Rish wanted her heart rate to increase as it had. The medication would carry much faster with her heart rate up. Besides, she also wanted to hear what she had to say, even if it was not the full answer inquired for.
Once Ranee seemed to have calmed down Rish gave a side glance to Zion than focused her cold gaze to the young soldier once more.
"You 'need' to be here?" Rish repeated with a chilled tone. "Being 'here' does not make your very being function. That much is clear. You can't 'need' something unless there is a reason behind it child."
Rish moved closer to the head of the bed. She continued to hold her head level so her gaze was forced to look downward upon the soldier.
"What I see in your eyes past all that fear is a strong desire to protect your family. You don't wish to lose them, more so, you do not wish to be the one to harm them. It saddens me that you would hold that desire second to your fears and spoiled nature. What is even more disgraceful to your name is that you cannot even think of why you are protecting them, you could not even tell me that you wished to protect your family in the first place. How can you hope to protect them if you are fearful of your own center?"
Her hands unfolded from her back than rest securely by her sides. Slowly her right hand begun to lift toward her eye-patch. "Both XO Deadthorn and I can easily tell you why we do what we do with confidence and determination. Fear may be come with some of our tasks, but it does not rule who we are."

Watching the two interact, Zyon didn't move to the sudden out burst made by Ranee. It was to be expected, after all Zyon had been under the cold calculating gaze of General Rish for a long time himself. Staring her in the eyes, at inability to be able to speak, but he did know his 'why'. And that gave him courage to act and fallow-through with his course.
At the mention of himself, the Assistant noticeably puffed, and his stance turned if at all possible a bit prouder.
Fear after all did come by one's own thoughts and design. It was one's own imagination working against themselves. It and everything always first started in the mind. Fear, courage the strenght and fallow through to complete something, but what gave the thought drive was the 'why'. Without a 'why', one true had nothing and was doomed to get nothing accomplished.

Though she was angry and frustrated she did her best to calm herself and listen to a rather intimidating Rish, however what she said was indeed truth and Ranee couldn't dispute that still stung though all of it Rish certainly had a way with words.
After a long pause she replied finally "I still don't know what it is, but I know it can read minds if I tell you anything it will know." Hopefully, the two would understand as they seemed to hold their own scars. She wasn't so worried for herself as her family.
"From what I heard, you lost something important when you got that..." she'd remembered some conversation the nobles of the empire gossiped about some time ago.
Ranee breathed "I Understand M'am."

From outside the door murmurs could be heard over an announcement to be made in a few moments. There was so much that could be covered with effort. With a sigh Rish took the eye-patch and removed it with a *snap* from her face. As the hand pulled away the patch seemed to vanish in thin air. Crimson iris set against pitch black sclera glared at Ranee once the patch was gone. A wide toothy grin stretched across her lips as the murmurs could be better heard. General Rish was going to be delivering a war speech within the next minute.
The door to Ranee's room opened briefly before a wide eyed doctor peeked in to see who was in the room. "Oh, excuse me doctor..." And like that the door was closed leaving the three of them in the room alone once more.
Sometimes it was troublesome hiding as a general. They oh so loved to make television appearances. As the door shut Ranee would be able to see the Iron Judge, or rather, Nick in all her cyborg-glory. It was a dramatic change from what she had last seen over three months ago.
"I lost many important people when I received my scars... and yet." Her eyes drifted to the man at her side while a smile replaced the grin. "Yet I gained everything. It took years of torture, but if given the chance I would do so again if the outcome was the same."
Her mechanical arm clicked as she flexed the fingers than righted her posture. "-It- does read minds very easily, and my statement still stands. Though, it was admirable you were willing to receive discipline from someone who could easily ruin you to keep your family safe. rest assured, they will be for now... as will you." To think what would have happened if they had not been there when they had. The poison didn't have a lasting affect other than fatigue, which meant that the antidote was administered in time. It was troublesome to think that the switch was already picking its targets...
"What do you truly understand? I am curious..."

Zyon watched the two woman carefully, his stoic stance crack and as a grinned slipped across the male's lips. As the murmurs were heard, the 'assistant' knew his disguise had become less useless, as Rish was about to address the people without her 'shadow'. The mask of 'Zyon Dreadtorn' fell away, as a more known appearance was reviled to be the wanted former bandit king; Rudolf 'Riot' Whitebane.
A hand slipped past the unveiled dark old fashioned traveling coat. A bright shinny apple was drawn free from it's concealment of a inner pocket. Moving to the end of the bed, Riot let his elbows fold and rest on the end stock of the bed, where he rested in a easy forward lean.
Giving a glance up to Nick, blue eyes looked back to Ranee. A smile remained on the
"Yeah." The male purred as the delicious apple was drawn to his lips. "Me too..." Riot smirked before taking a crisp bite of the apple.
Bright blue eyes watched Ranee with a wild fascination, as he meekly chewed the fruit, being careful to not miss a spoken word.
