Hel scowled at his words. “Like I said, do anything of the sort, and I will come after yours!” She huffed then. “I do not need you, or anyone for that matter, to understand! But you know what I would like? Just for everyone to respect my decision!”
The reaper paused though, as the sound of foot steps echoed behind her and her head snapped in the direction. Her expression fell at the sight of who it was. Er…well…was this what they called awkward? To make it worse, he seemed to be leaving as well. Great. Her stomach rolled uneasily at wanting to say something to the retreating psychopomp, but coming up short. It was Shun’s quiet words that made her head snap back towards him though, distractedly. “Oh, shut up, Shun!” She snapped. “What are you, my father!? I made amends the best I could, and it is in the past now!”

Mac paused in his retreat; not because of what Shun had said, or because of some lingering guilt he felt the need to defend, but because Hel's words tore through him with an intensity he had not been expecting. It was in the past, wasn't it? There was no point in dodging something that had already been done and could never be undone again. His posture slumped with a heavy sigh, spending another moment or two alone on one of the lower steps before eventually turning, his expression that of strained resolve, to head back up the steps.
Yeah. The past was the past. No point in avoiding it any longer, right?
"Are you done?" He asked Shun, his voice surprisingly soft...it was almost like he was tired of this whole thing, which wasn't far from the truth. "Can we go now, or are you going to subject her to more disapproval?"

"It's hard to respect that when I hardly respect him at all," Shun scoffed. He wasn't particularly phased by Hel snapping at him. And with Mac coming along asking if he was done, he just turned to continue going down the stairs as was his original plan.
"Yeah, you can go ******** off or whatever."

Hel frowned. “I did not agree with you going off on your own to the Hunter Base, Shun.” She replied. “But I respected it. I do not think it is too far to ask the same.” She startled a bit at the soft sound of Mac’s voice, and turned her head to look over at the Psychopomp, and she couldn’t help but feel immediately grateful for that support, and the relief showed on her face.
Once more, she turned back to Shun though, and watched as the Grim continued down the stairs. She sighed heavily, her eyes lidding as he moved away. Sheesh. Maybe she just shouldn’t have come back at all…
Hel reached up to rub a hand over her face, letting out an aggravated sound. She needed to let Shun go for now, that much she knew. She was in no condition to try and speak to him further. She would definitely just make it worse now if she tried anymore. After some time, and after Shun was gone, she lowered her hand, and turned back to face Mac. She stared at the reaper for a long moment before her lips pulled into a tired smile, and she reached out and just hugged onto him tightly.
“Oh, how I missed you something awful.”

"Nah, man. As always, it's you who needs to ******** off and mind his own jack damned business." Mac said, his voice hard but clearly trying to sound as happy as a clam. He'd like to pretend that he gave zero ******** on the matter, but that certainly wasn't the case. "Have a nice day, you nosy a*****e~" He waved his fingers and after assuming Shun was now on his merry way, turned to look at Hel curiously. She looked exhausted, and that pack she had...that was some adventure she went on, didn't she?
"Do I know you?" He asked innocently, this time the mirth in his voice was real; hidden and toned down, but real. Before long she was hugging him, and for a moment his heart swelled; someone actually missed him. Aww. He stooped that little bit, wrapping his arms securely around her and crushing her against his chest.
"I missed you too~"

She didn’t like the note Shun was leaving on, not one bit, but she reminded herself to give it some time. She was in no condition to try and talk to him again right now. Pushing that to the back for the time being, she focused on who was before her now, and that she was genuinely happy, if not exhausted. “Ah, no, you do not! You see, I make it a sport to just latch onto strangers. Life is more exciting that way, ya?” There was also something awfully nice about being crushed against him, and she soaked it all up. “Awwww, you did?” She echoed merrily, though it was muffled. “Well, stranger, I need to relay to you my life’s story! But first I need a bath, for I am filthy...so we should continue this in my room. I have candy.”
