Solo Diary Entry 1 ~ A Week to Remember Dear Diary,
It's been one hell of a week.
For starters, Kalypso and I moved out of my Mom's at the beginning of the week. I definitely won't be missing all that crazy religious talk, the constant nagging about my life choices, or the same overbearing rules and curfews I've had since I was in middle school. Now I'm free. Mom is not exactly happy about the situation, but we both knew that I was going to have to move on with my life sooner or later and that was not going to happen with me living under her roof. I've got to either sink or swim on my own. Besides, there's just been too much friction between her, Lily, and I since Dad passed away. . .
Speaking of Lily, she didn't say much of anything to me, so it's safe to say that she feels like I'm abandoning her. She tends to get that idea a lot when people go anywhere, but this time I can see where she's coming from. I promised to stay in touch with her and I plan to keep that promise.
Anyways, Destiny City! I've dreamed my whole life of moving there since our town is so small and when I decided it was time to start a new life, I grabbed my bags, cat, and the money I'd been saving from odd jobs throughout the years, and caught the next bus there.
That bus ride was horrible. The trip took two hours from my hometown, I sat next to a guy who smelled of old, moldy cheese, and this kid kept throwing a fit because he didn't want to sit in his seat anymore. To make matters worse Kalypso was not enjoying all the bouncing around and spent a good deal of the ride meowing about it.
When we finally got there, I didn't have the energy to go out on the town. I checked into the first motel I saw, set Kalypso's litter box and bowls up, and collapsed on the hardest mattress I've ever felt. She can always tell when I feel cruddy so when she curled up next to me on that uncomfortable mattress, I couldn't help but feel so happy that I slept as comfortably as if we'd been in my old room.
The next few days I spent looking at rental property and most of it was out of my price range. I was starting to get worried when I found a small one bedroom apartment with a TARDIS blue front door. If that wasn't a sign, then I don't know what is. Needless to say, I fell in love with it. I signed that lease so fast that it would make your head spin. I'm actually writing this note in that apartment.
Kalypso seems to like it, too, since it's currently all open space and she can run around literally everywhere. I'm going to need to get some furniture for the place soon, but with everything I've spent this week, I have a whopping ten dollars to my name. Guess I'm off to find a job so I can pay for my new apartment. . .

Solo Touché, Universe Note: This solo takes place directly after "Much Mulch for March" and before "In the Dark of the Night".
Step one, move to a new town. Check. Step two, get a place. Check. Step three, get a job. Check. Step four, uh...
Avacyn hadn't the slightest clue what was next for her in her "Start a New Life" checklist, but at least she had the basics down now.
After filling out forms for employment at her new job, the pink-haired girl left the Bookwyrm and began her journey home, smiling like an idiot at her luck.
And Avacyn was rarely a lucky girl. It must have been fate that she ended up with a job at the bookstore. Everything had fallen into place so quickly and smoothly that it was hard to believe it could be anything but destiny.
From the moment she and her cat came to Destiny City, things had been unfolding so perfectly that she wondered why she hadn't moved earlier.
She was sure that Kalypso probably missed her by now, or at least she missed her waitress. Either way, Avacyn was ready to be home with her and snuggle her kitty-cat until she decides enough is enough and hops off to do whatever else she feels like.
Nothing could make her feel down now.
Not even the fact that the more she walked, the less she recognized.
Destiny City was very, very large, according to Avacyn. Of course, she was from a small town where the main vein of town was the Main Street. And it always helps to know the area a little before gallivanting around town.
But with the sun hanging low in the sky, she decided it would be best to get home.
She took a moment to look for some place that she recognized or could look up on her smart phone. Nothing but a small pet store caught her attention.
While waiting on her GPS to recognize her location, Avacyn decided to take a look around the store. 'Maybe I'll find something for Kaly in here,' she thought to herself as she strode down aisle after aisle. Wait, how many aisles had she been down?
She checked her phone.Quote: The battery is getting low; less than 15% remaining. 'Laaaame.'
She took out a pen and jotted down the directions on the back of one of her no longer needed applications.
'Is that all you've got?!' Her golden eyes gleamed and she smirked, looking to the sky. Avacyn was invincible.
The first few directions were simple enough to memorize: left, left, right, left. She picked up her pace to get through the turns quickly and get onto the rest.
By the time she was ready for the next set of directions, she was worn out. 'Damn, I need to get out more if this is getting to me,' she thought grumpily.
As she grabbed the small pile of papers, a gust of wind caught her off guard and blew all but one from her hand.
'Please be the one I need,' she hoped as she flipped the blank application over to it's plain white backside. 'Dammit!'
Avacyn bounced across the street, collecting papers, until all were in her hand. At least, she hoped it was all of them.
She paused, looking up and down the unfamiliar street and furrowed her brows. Which way had she come from? Which was was she supposed to go?
Hoping she was going the right way, she took the path to her right and flipped through her pages to hopefully find the one with the directions.
'Touché, universe. Touché.'
