"She's alright, I'm use to stepping around mins." Chuckling he didn't bother to mention Olive instead he carefully detached the little mini before walking. Throwing a smile back Spinar rounded the corner and leaned out of the way on the counter to watch the baku cutting. "Hah, well not obvious, but you seem to know your way around a knife." Grinning he eyes the vegetables and then shifts back to a straight standing position. "That and the homemade ice cream..." So it was obvious but it didn't mean he couldn't tease her a little.
Vegetables were not a favorite of the frost demon, but the ones she was using weren't all that bad, so for now he kept that to himself with just a faint wrinkle of his nose.
Glancing around he moved back to rest on his heels, it felt a little awkward to just be standing there doing nothing. Spinar rolled his shoulders and let out a soft sigh trying to recall the last time he had actually had a meal with someone other than his parents. Pocketing his hands Spinar sucked sharply at his snakebites creating a clicking against his teeth as he did. This was boring perhaps he could aid her, "anything you'd trust me to do chef?" His tone was joking but he was very serious in the offer.
Running a hand over his neck he gave the baku a somewhat sheepish look before inquiring, "or at least care to tell me a little bit more about yourself while working?"Friends weren't friends after all without at least knowing things about one another, granted he had no intention of telling the baku about himself.Kaiyumi* Hehe >3 I did, did it confuse you! Chuckling at his reply, she offered him a somewhat sheepish smile as she shrugged her shoulders. "Okay, I guess I wasn't too subtle about it, huh?" It would probably become particularly obvious if Spinar were to root around in her kitchen and find the number of sticky-note filled cookbooks that she had lying around.
...And then there were her cupboard that were filled with small, neatly labeled containers holding a variety of different dried fruits, flowers, and leaves for tea blends...but that was a whole other can of worms.
Either Xiu was perceptive, or she had simply expected the faint reaction from him because of her other demon friends' preferences. In other case, the baku turned around and gently rapped the clean end of her wooden spoon on the boil's head, smiling wryly as she then used it to point straight at him. "Vegetables are good for you, so don't complain. And you can help me with seasoning and cooking the main part of the dish,if you'd like! The question is...do you prefer steak, or some nice fish?"
In either case, she went to grab some of the spices while awaiting his answer, pausing only to hum thoughtfully at his question. "I don't mind. What did you want to know?"Cheekiebirdiee *HOLDSSSS* <33 I'm making more of an effort to get back into RPing, so hopefully my tags will be a little less...laggy aldfkjasdf. The sheepish looks of the ghoul were charming in an adorable way to the demon, it was nice to see sweeter creatures. Suckers even if put into a more literal term according to his own logic. Spinar leaned against the counter unsuspecting and as such when the end of the spoon caught him on the head in a light thump his pale blues widened in honest shock. That was the first time he had ever been hit with a spoon, of course he realized it was in play but the surprise was there.
Laughing after a split second of shock he shook his head and whined dramatically, jokingly, "b-but I don't wanna eat the vegetables!" Sticking out his tongue he gives a playful wince and rubs over his head. "Got it, hm fish works for me, I do prefer it over steak to be honest." Spinar glanced around the kitchen noticing things here and there like the massive amounts of cookbooks.
Waiting for her to bring the spice he shifted back on his heels and picked up a single slice of one of the vegetables sneaking it into his mouth. Well it wasn't so bad, free food and she seemed to agree to letting some personal information slip. Chewing slowly he leaned back on the counter with his elbows admiring the view as the ghoul was turned and getting spices down, "anything and everything you would be willing to tell me of course. I tend to be a good listener if anything." Chuckling he pushes off the counter and moves over to Xiu, "here.." He opening his hands to her he offers to carry a few of the spices back to the table. "What year are you anyways, Xiu?" Kaiyumi *holds back and pets* ITS OKKK I WANT TOO OU O <333 HAPPY BIRTHDAY - besides its not that amazing so lmao

Amused by his flicker of genuine surprise, the ghoul simply shook her head and smiled as she moved towards the fridge to grab the freshly-caught fish she had purchased earlier. "Fish it is, then! That won't take too long to cook up either, so I hope you're hungry!" As it was nearing her usual dinner time, she knew that she certainly was at at least.
As she worked on cleaning out the fish, the baku spared a second to look away from her work and give the boil an amused side-glance. "Anything and everything, you say? I'm really not all that interesting though!" With a little laugh, she shook her head, only to emit a softer giggle at Spinar's following question.
"Don't be surprised, but as small and probably unassuming as I seem...I'm a third year." Cheekiebirdiee ...and then I disappeared again for my summer class final and ADFGSHAFGH TIRA AWWWW ;____; <3333333 Ahhhh THAT IS PRECIOUS OKAY thank youuuu ;;; <333333 *HOLDSSS*

A waft of fish filled the air as the ghoul brought it out, the smell telling him that it was certainly fresh. "I'm a growing boil, I'm always hungry." He assured her with a chuckle and a teasing wink before relaxing back against the counter. When his question seemed to be eased away from he had to smirk, amused with the reply since it sounded like one of his own.
"I beg to differ...you seem plenty interesting.." Chuckling softly he gave a suspicious brow, was she really a third year? "Ah, well that saddens me, means I'll have even less time to get to know you. But it is interesting...I didn't expect you to be a third year." Swinging his tail up he attempts to steal another veggie slice with the tip. Pondering a few questions he starts out with more casual and obvious ones, " so..is your aniki the only family you have here?" Spinar wanted to know who all he would be having to deal with if he ever suckered the sweet little baku out of anything.

Well that was a good sign, then! Considering how the baku ghoul tended to make a slight excess of food when she had guests over, it was a good thing that the boil was hungry. If not, well...
...She could have him pack some up to take with him, right? Rightttt?
"Is that so?" She turned to lift her own brows at him, though the smile on her face revealed her amusement, "And that's not necessarily true. Although I'm graduating soon, my friend and I will be opening up a cafe nearby once we're out. You can drop by and visit somet--...why do you say that?" Perking up, Xiu cast Spinar a curious look, trying to wrap her mind around why it was a surprise that she was a third year. Did she just look young? ...She was rather small, that much she had to admit.
The baku make no complaints when the boil stole another veggie--at least he was taking something healthy for him--and simply grinned at the question. "Not quite. I also have my jiejie--Levi, who I think was...also present in our other selves' world--and...well, I kind of consider all of my friends here to be some form of family."
She worked quickly as she spoke, and before long, the scent of lightly seasoned, cooked fish soon filled the air. As she slid them onto plates, she went to grab a pitcher of chilled fruit tea that she had made earlier that day. "But hey, is it fair that you're asking all of the questions?" Xiu pointed out, her voice light, "Surely you have some things to say about yourself?" Cheekiebirdiee It is adorbssss! ;___; <33 AND LOL IT WENT...FINE...though I have two more summer classes this term. Idk why...

With the way dinner was smelling, Spinar would very gladly wrap up any leftovers offered to take with him. He wasn't culinary inclined so again, free food was a way to his 'heart' so to say. At the amused look he grinned to her and nodded, a curious flicker running his features at the mention of a cafe.
With secrete recipes?
A casual glance was given over the kitchen, there were notes and books all over, where any really worth stealing? Probably not and besides he reasoned, who in Halloween would he sell them to? "A cafe hm?" Spinar leaned back and rubbed over his chin, "sounds delightful, I'll be sure to try to stop in after you graduate to visit." Why not? He could get more free food, and she was cute enough to go out of his way for, at least again since the lingering idea of food was with her.
At the why he chuckles and shakes his head and offers, "well I suppose mostly because you are incredibly cute, but aside from that you are rather tiny.." Giving an attempted charming grin he chuckles again, not seeing the need in lying in the moment. When she started to talk of all her friends Spinar winced a little, so many people to potentially fend off if he did do something.
Perhaps tricking her wasn't worth it...
Sitting down at a chair he lifted a brow and looked to the tea she had pulled out, "flavor?" Smoothly he tried to evade more about himself, teasing, " of course I do, but isn't it proper to let a lady speak about herself first?" Running a hand through his hair he gave in a little and offered, "how about this, you can ask me anything you want over dinner and if it's worth your time I will answer the best I can" Eyeing the food he gave a delighted hum in appreciation. Kaiyumi IBoo Classes you totes need a break! But, from here do you just want to write-up them having dinner together then and kind of fin it up or keep going? Either is fine by me but I know some people aren't fond of a million page rps lol.

Completely oblivious to the fact that his eyes were wandering over her recipes and the thoughts running through his head, the baku continued to hum cheerfully, turning to offer him a grin when he said he'd drop by the cafe. "Yes, please do! I'm sure Gene--my friend and co-owner--will be pleased to have you around as well!"
And then she paused. Gene. Gene had been in her other self's kingdom too--did that mean that Spinar was already technically acquainted with her? ...Goodness, this whole kingdom thing was terribly confusing.
Shaking the thoughts away, she nearly dropped her wooden spoon in surprise at the impromptu complement, only to puff out her cheeks in a pout after a moment passed in silence. "I'll have you know that I'm neither tiny nor cute! ...Not that tiny, anyways!" She was probably a little shorter than most of her other fellow third-year friends, but it wasn't as if she was pocket-size or something.
Of course, it was clear that she wasn't actually insulted by his words as her cheerful smile returned to her face a second later. Finally done with all the cooking, she worked on the plating, sliding the fish carefully onto two plates and arranging the sauce and vegetables neatly around it. Gaze flickering over to the side at the inquiry about the tea, she grinned sheepishly. "Booberry white tea. Hopefully not something that you destest with a passion?" Expertly balancing the two plates on one arm and grabbing the pitcher with the other, she moved out of the kitchen and towards her dining table.
"And it's a deal--I get to ask you some questions over dinner!" Cheekiebirdiee :'DD I WISH I HAD A BREAK aldskfhalsdf I have a paper due next week and two finals after that BUT WELL... Also, either sounds cool with me! OuO We could def do a wrap after this post, like a "AND THEN THEY ATE AND CHAT UNTIL SPINAR HAD TO LEAVE" fade out thing adfsghjfh

Puffed out cheeks and utter silence until she poutily denied the compliment? Because of course that wasn't cute, Spinar only smirked, remaining silent so not to evoke more of the dreaded ghouly wrath. Why couldn't they just take compliment?
It was tickling to him.
When the cheerful smile returned he breathed out a breath he hadn't remembered holding. Pleased it had been the typical compliment response and not actual offense he chuckled lightly and held up his hands in a defensive gesture, "alright alright." At the flavor announcement he grinned he followed the ghoul and the plates into the dinning room to sit. He didn't offer to help considering she was handing the dishes like a pro, however he did manage to pull her chair out for her.
"Then lets begin..." A hint of a purr slipped into his tone as he fell into the chair beside the little baku. This would be an interesting dinner, one he would have to be on guard for that was for sure, at least for the chatting side. Settling in he took his plate, their dinner beginning.
Kaiyumi Fufufuf, gooood luuuck <33 *holds* Hehe ok, I'll do a little fade out thing then and we can call it good! Thanks for rping with me <3 feel free to catch me anytime for more!
