As with Mot, Shun had very few male friends. It didn't really bother him, but this was kind of nice in a way. On the train, he kept to himself mostly as usual, just watching the scenery outside go by. He had brought some water bottles with him, as well as some other snacks.
When they had arrived, he took in a breath. It had been awhile since he smelled the ocean. Having grown up on an island, he was familiar with the scent from the times he had wandered by the docks of the city.
"Not bad," he commented as he made his way out onto the pier and setting his things down as well. This looked like a nice place to relax.
"So then what do we do? I take it there's more to it than sticking a worm onto a hook and throwing it in the water," he said a little flatly.

Kettil probably did the most talking during the train ride, but he did show he could sit silently for a bit now and again. For the most part he was just very excitable for the trip, Kettil even contributed some snacks and drinks of his own to the cooler of awesome that Mot had arranged. For the most part the Muut exuded happiness.
Once they arrived Kettil carried everything out that he could easily hold on to. The scent of the ocean air made him smile widely and then he gazed over at Shun, "We pick a good spot first," he nodded over toward the piers and pretty much began to lead the way toward them. "Then we will show you how to cast your line after we get everything all settled in."
The Muut spent a lot of time meandering about the pier before he deemed a spot good enough for them and marked it by putting everything down and starting to arrange everything just so.

"It's not at all crowded. How lucky are we?" Mot said with a grin. Shun wasn't a people person, so this would hopefully help him relax. Mot helped sort out their things, basically creating their camp out spot. Their territory.
He was incredibly excited, and he hadn't even had his coffee yet.
"So you know how to make sushi, Shun? That's really neat! I like my fish grilled. Not that I really eat much.." He laughed at himself.

Nodding to Kettil, he followed the Muut until they had found what was apparently a good spot. Once there, he peered over the edge into the water. He could spot a few moving forms in its depths, which was a good sign. There were fish in the area then.
Also, he was rather glad that it wasn't crowded at all. He disliked crowds.
"I can, yes. It's a pretty simple thing to do. I can grill as well. Some fish are not suitable to eat raw," he explained.
He.. also noticed that his two comrades here both seemed to be rather happy and excited. Him? He appeared to simply be content. Such were the ways of this reaper.

"He taught me how to make sushi," Kettil said cheerfully.
Once everything was settled Kettil handed each boil their own pole before he picked up his own and then took a position on the pier so Shun could plainly see what is being done, "I don't think I need to explain how to bait your hook so you don't get your finger caught on the pointy end," Kettil began simply.
"So I think I'll just show you how to cast off." He then began to mimic the motions first for Shun to see before he set to work getting some bait from his tacklebox and then casting off for real, "And then you watch the bobber in the water. When you get a bite you kinda feel a good heavy tug," Kettil said carefully.
He began to reel in the line since he didn't intend to catch anything yet, "It is something you learn more from experience on how to deal with rather than me showing you..."
Besides watching Kettil wait for fish to take the bait would get boring. "All clear?"

Wow! So they had an expert on catching fish, and an expert on preparing them for a meal. Mot was impressed.
Mot watched Kettil too, just to get a refresher on the proper cast off. Mot took up the pole he'd been given, baiting the hook with a hum. "Here goes nothing~!" He mused before casting off his line.

For now, Shun watched Kettil as he explained what to do. It seemed pretty simple enough. Once his line was cast, he went ahead and grabbed a bit of bait, carefully putting it onto his own hook. From there, he tossed his line into the water.
Since he was warned patience would be needed, he seated himself in the meantime while he held onto his pole and watched his little bobber in the water further away.

Kettil nodded amiably as the other two went about casting their lines to make their casts into the salty waters. The Muut got himself settled before he recast his line and then waited.
"Anything exciting going on for you two?" He asked in a chipper tone as he waited, the bobber going up and down in a slow manner in the water. Kettil reeled the line in a bit only to have it catch on something. His hopes skyrocketed as he reeled in more excitedly.
He'd caught something already.
Only when the hook came up with bait and a ticket attached he sort of deflated especially after he looked at the ticket.
Don Bonavanni's Opera Spectacular...
Blahblahblah. Date was several months back already. Ugh. Whatever.
"..It's the boots all over again," he grumbled under his breath. (( Our fishing list. Generated by Bitti, Pales, & Blade))

"Ahaha! Cleaning up the water again, Kettil?" Mot chuckled, but soon after, he got a tug. "OH OH! I got a bite!"
The reaper reeled in the catch with some trouble. Woah, was this fish red? Wait.. fish? "What is thi---" Was.. it glaring? Mot looked to the pinchers attached to the line, threatening to chop it. "Oh no... uh..um..."

Mot carefully pulled his line closer, attempting to save his line. "Careful... caaareful...." The lobster struck, pinching Mot's finger and snapping the line. Mot yelped loudly, dropping the rob and clutching his bleeding diget.
"Ow ow ow oooowwwwiiiie.." Mot muttered in pain, a big frown painted on his face.

Oh, it seemed the others were getting catches already. Shun turned to the side to see what they had got. Kettil.. had a slip of paper and Mot found himself a rather angry lobster. And now the latter was bleeding too.
"... Kettil did you bring a first aid kit?" he asked. It was hard to see just how bad the cut was, but it probably would still be good to clean the wound and such.
Before he could say anything further, he felt a tug at his line. Turning, he narrowed his eyes and began to reel it in. Considering what the others had grabbed, he didn't have too high of an expectation. That was, until he pulled it out of the water, finding a moderately sized demon trout.
"Ah. I've caught something," he stated while pulling it closer. The fish was flopping around quite a bit, as he was trying to get it off of his line.

"Oh shi--," Kettil murmured, he hadn't recast his line yet. There was a bit of a scurry as he put down his pole and dug through his tacklebox to get out a small first aid kit that was contained within, "Yeah! Just in case, y'know?"
Sometimes Kettil did plan ahead. Alert the media!
He got out an antiseptic wipe and a bandaid and wandered closer to Mot. There was a pause or two before Kettil just simply grabbed the other boil's hand and went about cleaning up the wound, "Don't squirm it'll just take longer!" he warned cheerfully.
Eventually Mot would have a owl themed bandaid on his finger.
Once the bandaid was nice and secure he gazed over at Shun and his catch, "Hey! Great job!" Kettil said cheerfully and then scooted forward a bucket he usually brought with him, already filled with some water, "If you wanna keep it just put it in there...Or release it."

Shun was a first timer to this, and he was the first to catch a fish. Figures.
Mot was a big suck when he was injured, even if it was minor. Sure, he could put on bravado if need be, but right now? Nope. Being a suck. He winced when Kettil took his hand, putting on an expression of disgruntlement at his warning. He didn't squirm, but he did hiss when the antiseptic touched his cut. His body cringing while still trying to keep still.
The choice in bandaid was... expected.
"Thanks." Mot said with a light smirk. Sorting out the line of his pole, Mot sighed and got back to fishing, occasionally pouting and rubbing his finger.
"Ah.. another tug. I sure hope I have better luck tha--" Why was it pink and fuzzy.
. . .
Mot lifted it off of his line, but when he realized it was fuzzy pink handcuffs?
"EEYAII!" He threw them back with a flail, and leaped over Kettil's lap to find the anti septic again. "UNCLEAN!"

While kettil tended to Mot, Shun went and struggled with his fish some more. It eventually stopped flopping so much. Assessing whether to keep it or not, he went ahead and tossed it into the bucket. It was a good sized fish. It would be edible.
He prepared another line to cast after the cowboy did the same. Oh, he managed to catch another...
"...I don't want to know why that was in the ocean.." he muttered. Granted, he felt like Mot's reaction was a little... over the top. They were just.. handcuffs...
Shaking his head, he felt another tug at his line. Reeling it in, he found another fish at the end of his line. Not bad. Judging the creature, he went ahead and tossed this one back into the water.

Kettil let out a small sound of surprise when there was a sudden Cowboil on his lap, and then the sound of surprise turned into hearty laughter as he carefully removed scrawny boil off his lap and gave him another wipe to 'clean up' with just to make him happy.
" bet they're clean enough! Been in the ocean a while by the looks of it," Kettil was trying to allay some of Mot's fears.
The Muut cast his line and waited for the tug at the line and was soon rewarded with one. As he pulled it up there was a small, small shark attached looking rather upset about his predicament. It was also lisping in a strange language. Kettil Hurriedly got it off the line and tossed it back in, "Ummm..."
"Seems Shun is our catcher of the day, huh?" Kettil laughed uneasily.
