Though her great beast continued to stand there looking impressive and self-important, Rajani was less than impressed. She snorted delicately at the pair of them - one vain and the other awestruck. It seemed that her Guradian's ego was going to be well-fed today, not that he needed it. As for the man, well, he looked rather like someone experiencing an epiphany. Ridiculous.
"Now you have seen a Guradian with your own eyes," she said. "Perhaps you will not be so quick to dismiss legends in the future."
Though pleased that the human was suitable awed by his majesty, Oberon soon grew bored with staring at him and strode up to his chosen so that she could lavish an appropriate amount of attention on him. With a shake of her head to convey what she thought of him, Rajani nonetheless obliged and gave him a good scratch behind the ears.

Dino eventually snapped out of it, rather quickly at Rajani's words. He stepped aside even more as Oberon approached, knowing very well this was one he did not want to anger. It would be worse than being trampled by a horse. "Y-yes of course! And....And I will be sure to read up on...On.....Ah, what's that word...?" He was making a rather puzzled face, trying to remember what he was going to say. "Zapis..? Ah! Legends!" He grinned rather widely, proud of himself. "The Legends of Sunderland! I will read as many as I can find! Thank you so much, Miss....? Ah I don't believe we've exchanged names. How very unthoughtful of me.." He gave a rather superfluous bow, smiling slightly with his eyes to the ground. "Dino Prazina, drago mi je da smo se upoznali. Or how you would say, it's nice to meet you."

"Rajani," she supplied, somewhat amused by the way that he made certain to stay out of Oberon's path. She could have told him that if the stag truly wanted to harm him, then such little space would not protect him, but somehow that seemed a little unnecessarily belligerent. After all, Oberon was not generally inclined to inflict violence on hapless strangers. He only went after those who truly deserved it, or those who tried a little too hard to woo her...then again, perhaps Dino had best keep his distance.
"They will not be difficult to come by," she said instead. With news of the wolves came a sudden resurgence of interest in the Wardens of old. Papers and books of legends were gaining popularity once more, and were much easier to come by than they once were. Of course, he did not really even need to invest in books. Most Sunderlanders could tell him a legend or three. Rajani herself knew several.

Dino wasn't going to make anyone else upset if he could help it, and was certainly quietly watching Oberon, still a little curious about the whole guardian aspect of things. He was sure that he could find more information in legends or such, not sure he wanted to bother Rajani further. He knew a strong, independent woman when he saw one, especially the type you didn't want mad. "Ah, you have a good point. It seems the streets will be the best place to look." He knew well enough who to ask. There were enough rumor-heavy beggars near his home that had whispered quietly of the wolves. However, curiosity was getting the best of him at the moment, and one little question might not do much harm, right? "So...How do they appear? In just the blink of an eye?" He wasn't much aware of the giant Ward tree, but knew well enough the Wardwood was a magical place. "Or do they come from the Wardwood?"

Rajani snorted delicately. Appear in the blink of an eye? Hardly. Even the transition from totem to fawn was a flashy affair - or at least, it had been for Oberon. The timing had been atrocious, as well.
"You truly are ignorant of Guardians, aren't you?" she mused, amazed at the extent of his ignorance. "When you are Chosen, you feel the call and you have no choice but to follow it into the Wood.
"Guardians come from the Ward Tree," she continued, producing a small, wooden buck that looked remarkably like Oberon. "They emerge from totems after their Chosen collect them from the Tree." Having explained it aloud for the first time, it did sound a little bizarre. Spirits grew on trees. Still, it was the truth, and there was no arguing with that.

"I know nothing more than their amazing existence at this moment, and that one day they'll drive back the wolves...Not much more than that, I'm afraid..." He looks down, like a child being scolded. Dino pouts the slightest bit, glancing up at Raj when she starts to explain, and he gets even more interested, catching glimpse of the totem. "The Ward tree..." He repeated. "So they start off small, right? Well...I suppose most spirits would, and then they grow bigger with strength, right? To the size of Oberon?" He gestures with his hands, trying to follow his train of thought. "Like friendships!" He's very much so trying to understand.

The gypsy blinked, bemused. This had to be the first time she had heard the growth of a Guardian described quite like that. Oddly enough, it was an apt description. The development of a Guardian did seem to be tied to its relationship with its Chosen. Still, "Most would say that they grow like a normal animal, from fawn to adult. But only a few grow to look like Oberon. The reason is unclear, but it seems conditional on their relationship with their Chosen."
She made no comment on his conviction that the Guardians would, indeed, drive back the wolves. Oberon would agree with Dino, but Rajani knew that the battle would be difficult. They would not have returned if they were not ready to face Sunderland's defenders.

"Oh I see..." He nodded, obviously thinking rather hard about it, trying to memorize what she was saying, since quite obviously she was an expert on such, at least in his eyes. "So it takes something really special for them to grow to be this regal? You two must be really close then...If that's what you mean by relationship." He's curious about a friendship, no, a bond that deep, having not many friends himself. "Thank you...For putting up with a fool like me." He admits, bowing his head to both her and Oberon.

Rajani waved a hand dismissively. As far as those who were curious about Guardians went, Dino was not too terribly annoying. He was ignorant, to be sure, but he was also humble and had an open mind. She had put up with men infinitely more irritating than he over the past few years.
As for his question, it could be considered rhetorical. As such, she preferred not to comment. The gypsy might have made it her business to learn all that there was to learn about Guardian lore, but even she did not have all the answers. The most she could do about some things was speculate, and she was not one to talk about her...friendships. Especially not with random strangers she met at a tavern.
"Have you any other questions?"

"Ah....No. I should probably be on my way, after all the trouble I've caused." He answered, glancing up at the night sky. "Though..Thank you so very much. The both of you." He slightly bowed, glancing back up at both Oberon and Rajani, "It was a pleasure, Miss Rajani....Sir Oberon. I do hope, once I obtain more knowledge on such topics, our paths shall cross once more."

They both nodded in reply. He was an odd man, but he did not seem like a bad sort. Rajani would not be adverse to meeting him again. With nothing more to say, Oberon returned to his stall and Rajani returned to the tavern, where a hot meal surely awaited her.
