He just kind of narrowed his eyes at the other and shrugged, not really understanding what he was talking about. His ears flicked back and forth, uncertainly as he tried to figure out what he was talking about. Like, another ice demon? He kind of puffed up at that and rubbed a hand over his face before shrugging a little more.
"I do not fully understand what you mean," came Uller's cool reply. Talking of ones sexuality wasn't something Uller's people participated in. It kind of just happened naturally, liking someone of the same or opposite sex. They weren't opposed to gay, but they weren't open about it.
"I never said you were a threat. I stare at everyone until I figure out certain things about them."

"Ah, my apologies then. I'm just used to others trying to see me as competition and nothing more." Etzer smiled faintly, a bit sad at this notion as he tilted his head at the other.
Smoothing out his sleeves as he glanced over his flattened book, he found he had lost his appetite for conversing somewhere in the exchange of words.
Oh well. He would make due, for the moment.

Competition? Uller saw no one in this school as competition for himself. He knew he was better than a lot of other ghouls and boils here, so why bother worrying about if someone was going to out do him in something? It honestly couldn't be done. Pushing white hair out of his face, the stag shrugged and pushed his tray away.
"You're hardly competition," he said. His tone wasn't mocking, condescending or anything, just matter-of-factly. "Hardly anyone here is, so do not take it the wrong way. However, if you wish to read, go ahead. I'll leave you be."
Yes, he let Etzer know he saw the glance to the book.

Arching an eyebrow, Etzer let out a mix between a huff and a sigh, not bothering to reply to that with a retort of any kind. Shaking his head, he pursed his lips and brought his book back to his face, sliding back into it with ease.
Something bugged him about Uller, and he just couldn't figure out what.

When Uller got nothing as a response, the Arctic monster just arched a brow and looked half offended. Whatever. He got up with his trey and just shook his head. Uller made quick work of disposing of the trey. With one last glance, he just headed out of the cafeteria and sauntered back towards his dorm room.
