Serafina caught the way his ears drooped and was, well, a bit surprised to say the least. Didn't people usually like when importance was recognized? Was that the wrong response? Was she supposed to ignore what he was, perhaps? Serafina did not understand the desire to toss aside something that was so important when it was her goal to be something that important. Had she gone in the wrong direction? She needed to hit the backpedal here. How could she hit the backpedal, though? She had already reacted. What was done was done.

Crap, had she messed up her first impression after all? A bit embarrassed at her own attempts, she suddenly looked down, fidgeting a bit in her lap. She felt her ears turning a bit hot. Perhaps it was a good thing they were covered by her hair as her cheeks were covered by her surgical mask. Serafina had messed up. Was that not what ... popular people wanted?

Of course, he didn't really seem like he wanted to be truly ... popular. Something in him preferred the quiet. She could respect that...

Yeah, she was definitely trying to look a part.

Serafina looked back up, the embarrassment obvious in the tilt of her eyebrows and the way she kept looking down. "I'm sorry. I wanted to make a good impression on you since you said you were important but that was probably the wrong move. I'm sorry. I'm a bit of an ... inexperienced ghoul, I guess. Only been around the bend a few times. Seemed like important people liked being directly recognized for their importance and being treated as such but I guess you'd rather be treated as everyone else and that makes sense, considering you're here at Amityville and trying to mingle with others without ... gloating about who you are and ... oh Jack, I'm babbling, aren't I? I'm sorry. I babble when I'm ... flustered."

Okay, she most definitely needed to shut the hell up. Right. She needed to shove something in her mouth before she talked anymore.

Serafina's posture relaxed, and she looked back at the low-grade chocolate, deciding to munch on a bit of that. "That's nice of your father, though, to help hide you guys from some of that sanity. It's good to grow up without that kind of spotlight, I think." Not that she'd really know the difference.

Raja
Oh damn, Serafina is flustered she got the wrong response there. Time to throw that car in reverse. >>

Poor thing. x3 It really is hard to be followed by expectations everywhere, especially when those expectations force him to be opposite from himself.

When you grew up being praised for where you were born, even if you were the 'wrong one' you got tired of it. He was the wrong race technically, as far as his father was concerned. He was still welcome and well loved for it, but he wasn't a frost demon. The family was always led by a frost demon, which meant him falling to his mother's side was a 'mistake' of sorts. While he wasn't scorned for it, he wasn't to be the heir of sorts. Ironically despite the fact their father was likely more proud of the way his older son behaved. Still, fact was fact, and he'd learned that he didn't care for the childish bantering to earn favor that came with being 'important' as Serafina might have put it.

Which was why he was so quick to put it down. He didn't want useless little statements. He didn't want people to be 'his friend' because he was important. He could do without that trash and would rather be on his own. Perhaps that was why he felt so awkward with people, he was a bit afraid they'd just get along with him for some stupid reason like that. He just didn't.

Which is why her speech, babble, endless bantering was met with just a stare. He wasn't quite sure how to react to that. Merely watching in silence as the string went on, and on, and on, and... didn't she need to bre- wait no. Ghost. Right. Scratch that. Still, she did finally stop and he couldn't help but smile. It was a bit sweet that she was so upset, but she was going about it all wrong. Sadly, she wasn't getting near the reply she had given. "I just don't like fake things. Politicians... those circles. Everyone is out to get something." He was right, she had been too most likely, but at least she'd fessed up to it. She'd just been trying to get along really.

"Being what you're not won't make you happy." He added after a moment, watching her toy with the chocolate as she seemed to try and get back to her old state. Which was better, he did sort of enjoy the fact that students around the school were relaxed, calm. They didn't have anything to gain from talking to him really, which was why he'd been finding it a bit easier.

...even if he still thought this speed dating this was stupid.

"I suppose you could call it that." He added, knowing full well it had nothing to do with protecting them from something. No, he'd made sure to show them only at the right times, and when he had rehearsed how they should act. Controlled chaos. ...though Etzer had always been particularly good at throwing wrenches in their father's plans.

Seiana_ZI
Yeeup. Molan's too quiet for the spotlight. He'd hate it. Also he just doesn't like... nonsense and useless things much. So those frivolous things bother him.

And sorta XD He's used to it. Doesn't want pity. He thinks it's normal, but yea... he has all the wrong expectations of people. Serafina just kind of... did exactly what he hates about people which is why he shut her down. >w> Kinda fast.

Honestly, Serafina was a bit ... thankful she got a shorter response than what she gave. She was just babbling. Molan's response let her know that she had recovered. Hopefully. Perhaps she should just ... not prod at that subject anymore. If she did, she would start to look desperate, and looking desperate was bad. She didn't want to look any part of that, especially since looking desperate to be in the good graces of a politician's son would probably make it look like she wasn't really sorry and--

"Everyone seems to want something," admitted Serafina, posture relaxing a bit further. "I went to an all-ghouls school before I transferred here," she seemed like she was talking a bit more about herself than she was before, now, but perhaps she was doing it for a reason. "There seemed to be all kinds of sniping going on there to get what people wanted, and that was just at a high school." She had managed to get to the top of that heap, but that was something she was choosing to leave out of her statements.

Molan did have a rather important point. Being what someone wasn't wouldn't make them happy. When she had gotten to the top of that ladder, she had wanted nothing else but to go elsewhere. Maybe she actually hadn't wanted what she thought? Why was she wishing to repeat it, then? Her same methods of getting on everyone's good sides didn't seem as effective here.

Or maybe Molan was a tougher nut to crack.

She did like a challenge, either way, though she felt like until she had ... bumbled a bit, she was getting along fairly well with him. For a quiet demon with bells all over him, anyway.

"You're right." She added, shaking her head at herself, perhaps. "It's easier to talk to you when I'm not trying to be fancy anyway." Serafina laughed, softly, settling down a bit further. Perhaps if she just went back to how she was behaving before, they could settle back to what they were behaving like, before. His statement on his father didn't seem as ... firm as she would have expected, but perhaps it wasn't her place to pry on that right at the moment.

Deciding to lighten the atmosphere, she picked up one of the cards and read over the statement. "It's also probably easier to talk to you because we aren't using some of these ridiculous phrases."

Seriously, whose idea was these?

Raja
Makes sense. Politics is a whole lot of that kind of nonsense haha. Lots of posturing.

Perhaps it's a good thing he shut her down. XD If he didn't, she would have continued thinking she was doing the right thing. >> Being corrected is a gamechanger.

Molan wouldn't have known how to give a longer response, so many words... at once? The idea would have baffled him eternally and he merely chose his few words here and there. Stern as ever. Thinking about it, he had likely gotten that from his father. Something of a no nonsense type when it came to what was said. He sort of grimaced internally at the thought, not really liking that he did take after his father. Though honestly, he thought he still took more after their mother? Right, calm and... quiet. He still had more good traits. Redeeming traits.

He nodded to her comment, watching Serafina curiously as she spoke up about herself. An interesting situation. Quite different from his own in it's own ways. He'd been home schooled until now, the only time he had to deal with people going after each other and looking for weakness were when the entire family went to events. Which lead to mostly the brothers being watched carefully until their father deemed them to know enough. "Politics isn't much better. If you show any chance of falling they will eat you alive. It's a cruel place really." When he spoke of it his voice did drop a bit, becoming about as blank as it could. There wasn't much inflection or anything. After all, if he was to go to that subject, he had to watch what he did. What he said. It mattered, even to a young ghoul like her. Things could get around a bit. "The world is really not so kind at times." He simply looked off at the lake a moment before shaking his head. He was done, he didn't want to worry about it.

Not when he was given a bit of leeway here. Just a little.

He gave her a brief nod in regards to it being easier to talk this way. "You'd lose if you tried to join a veteran in a war of that type." He'd grown up in it, to her, he was well... far out of her league. Not that he knew about the entire bits of her school background. Still, clawing political demons(no pun intended) were likely more dangerous than high school ghouls. And he'd managed to hold his own against them to the point his father showed little concern. He had his weaknesses, the normal-ness of school being one. He expected far more malice and venom from people than he got. It was hard to adjust to really. And he wasn't sure what to talk to them about. Normal was not... normal for him. "So just be what you are. It's easier." Or he would simply crush her like he did other youngsters at gatherings and be done with this. Because there was nothing for him to gain if she was to be that.

Apparently she'd taken the advice, or perhaps it was more of a threat. Seeing as she... got the cards. "You... shouldn't read those." He added, glancing off as his ears fell flat. They were bad, really bad. He merely shook his head at her comment, not sure what else to add. His reply seemed far too obvious, but well... "No one would ever succeed with any of those. Not if someone had half a mind." Hadn't he been thinking that earlier.

Here he was thinking poorly of zombies again. Tsk.

Seiana_ZI
Pretty much, he's so sick of it. To be honest once he adjusts he'll probably love school a lot.

He's blunt. He wouldn't have put up with it. Actually... he'd have stomped her flat by going all. 'You want social elite? FINE. DADDY TRAINED ME WELL.' but he hates doing that.

Mm, yeah, there were definitely a lot of commonalities there. Children and teenagers were rather cruel, and they were ... very ready to snipe at each other and take over the moment they saw any kind of weakness. It was why she always zoned in on things that may seem like weaknesses when she talked to people and mined information from them and then spread it around ... did she really want to do that, though? Hrm.

Still, the idea of politics and being that level of important had always appealed to her, though talking to Molan was definitely showing her another side of it. He wanted nothing to do with it, and there was a very definite reason for that. And looking back on what she did in a very different but yet very similar environment... she admittedly could see it. There was so much sniping, no real sense of sympathy, no real friendships even. Did she even talk to anyone from her old school anymore?

Mm.

"The world isn't kind at all, really." When she commented on that, the first thing she thought of was the horrid genocide that the Hunters had committed on the Horsemen over a year ago. It was the reason why she wanted to go to an island where something wouldn't go wrong, to help give her some experiences that she wouldn't be terrified of. Still, she couldn't... believe that had happened. Something in her was still repulsed at what happened during those few hours.

Of course, she never wouldn't be repulsed, really.

Did it hurt a bit to be told that she would lose if she would attempted to war with a veteran? Sure, it did, a bit. At the same time, she knew it was the truth. She wasn't stupid. No matter how much she thought she knew or didn't know, she definitely was no veteran in politicking. That was something she needed to work on learning how to navigate, if she wanted to. Molan seemed to be advising against it. He was right, though, in that being herself was certainly easier then trying to pull masks and faces on what she wasn't.

That being said, literally wearing a mask made that whole trick a bit easier.

There was a bit of a laugh, muffled by the surgical mask she wore. "I don't know. If someone was into those ridiculous dime novels, this one about eyes being like the depths of the deep sea might get them..." She, very obviously, was not one of those, setting the card back onto the pile and ignoring it from there on out. Luckily for Molan, being a ghoul and not an undead, she didn't really seem too bothered by his remark on having half-a-brain. If anything, she seemed a bit amused.

Perhaps she should find another subject to move onto.

"So, what do you like doing in your spare time?" If she was going to befriend him, she might-as-well find out if they had anything in common. "Besides giving Etzer lectures, of course."

Raja
That's good! Good he's finding an environment he'll be a lot more comfortable in. :3

>> Yeah, that would have turned out badly. So much for any kind of friendship, haha. She probably would have run off embarrassed. x3

Sadly, people like Serafina were the reason Molan was probably so awkward when it came to meeting new people. He assumed people were going to be like her, hunting for any sign they could use to tear you down. It was why he was more guarded with his words. He wasn't out to be intentionally rude, but he didn't like the idea of saying something people would use. Perhaps he had already said too much to the ghoul as it was. Regarding his family, they had their own ways of doing this, things he didn't mind and respected. Certainly they all had their own issues, keeping him around Etzer was one of the solutions to that issue. But it was also a show of something less than perfect, something that FEAR beings as a whole didn't need to know about. When you looked at them from afar, all you saw was the two respectable sons of a well known family.

Not the people themselves.

Perhaps that was why he'd been so upset with Serafina. She'd suddenly seen his family and not him, which was a bit of a bother. He wasn't some little thing to hold out and show off. Nor was he something to use as a stepping stone, at least in his mind. If you entered that world, then that was all the residents of it saw. Your use and what they could get from you. If she desired that world, she could have it, but he tended to avoid spending more time in it than was necessary.

He merely gave her a light nod in agreement at the words. He didn't know much of the genocide that had occurred, but he knew enough of the world to know a lot of unfair things happened all the time. Peoples lives weren't as simple as many wished and typically held a lot of bumps along the way. Which was why he sort of assumed people were going to do what they did. Because it seemed the norm to need to be on guard at all time.

Honestly, he hadn't meant to hurt her pride, he just had a no nonsense policy with it. If they were going to go that route he'd treat her as anyone in such a gathering. Withholding information, guarded expressions, and little more to say than the basics. His opinions were kept to himself with those gatherings. Until afterward, then he and his brother had lovely conversations about what they thought of people. Which was rarely good when it came to him. Still at least she dropped it. Knowing how to talk down and tear at people politely wasn't exactly a skill to be praised. If anything it was a terrible thing and hated even having picked it up. Survival skill really. He much preferred to view things on a more neutral side than anything.

Thankfully she did drop it and seemed to be more than happy to continue on with the cards as he shook his head. "Dime novels?" He hadn't really ever read them, sticking more to known works than such things. That seemed more something his brother would like if it was going to be cheesy books. What with his love of those ridiculous create your own adventure type of things."Well, they're just poor choice. A basic itnerwebs search would pull these up..." He added, shaking his head again. That's probably what had happened, someone looked up things to write on the cards. Probably that ghoul in pink.

He was still musing over just what she'd searched when the subject suddenly shifted to a question about his hobbies, causing him to tilt his head. "I spend most of my time reading. Or caring for my pets. I'm suppose you could say I'm still settling in at school so I haven't picked up too many things yet." He replied, slightly amused at her final comment. He'd only given his brother a few talking to's so far. It wasn't THAT bad... usually. "And yourself?" She sounded as if she'd been here a while, so perhaps he could figure out some ways to use that rare 'spare time' she spoke of.

Perhaps it was a good thing Molan had said something. She had almost lost the boil for the family, but it seemed that she had recaptured the boil behind the name before it got too far. Sure, did she still know in the back of her mind that this was someone she should probably stay on the better side of? Obviously. But if staying on the good side of Molan required her forgetting that he was of a political family?

It was unusual for her, but then, maybe seeing the person behind the name would work better for her than zoning in on the name.

She'd have to see, but that wasn't something she was consciously pondering. At the moment, she was watching Molan's expressions, what he was offering in response. Really, he hadn't heard of dime novels? She tilted her head, listening to him finish, before laughing. "Ah, a dime novel is basically a very ... cheesy kind of romance novel." Personally, she wasn't very fond of them, but she remembered some of the ghouls at her old school would squeal over them like little ghouls and boils being given some chocolate.

Personally, Serafina was more interested in books that she would have to spend her time puzzling out. She liked figuring people out, and that had started translating into an enjoyment of solving puzzles and other problems. People were a lot like puzzles, really, even Molan was. It seemed that Molan was still very new to the place, though. Serafina wasn't actually that much of an oldie at Amityville--hell, she was still in her first year--but she had been there a bit longer than Molan had. Perhaps that was why he seemed so nervous?

Still, despite his earlier apologies for being inadequate, he seemed perfectly adequate at conversation to her.

"I can't imagine you'd find dime novels terribly interesting, though. I read on occasion myself, with a bit of a preference to ... well, any book that can let me find out more about the world around me. I want to find out more about different people and places, you know?" Maybe he didn't, but it did seem to be a legitimate interest to her. "I also rather like Dance Dance Dedolution," she laughed, "and it can be nice to just go places and ... observe." As creepy as that might have sounded.

People-watching might have been a hobby that someone like Molan would understand, though. He was a fairly quiet person and he seemed fairly observant, but of course, the shifts she had made when he revealed his importance were probably rather obvious. It was hard to miss the straightening of the back or the way she had shifted her demeanor to acknowledge that importance, in the end.

But still, he was quiet. And quiet people liked to listen, right? They often seemed to...

Raja
Maybe Serafina will help him chill out. XD Maybe. Right now she's trying to puzzle him out a bit haha.

WTG Molan. Haha, that's okay, I'll be slower today. I have some errands...
PostPosted: Sun Feb 17, 2013 1:14 pm

Mentally Molan was going over that perhaps, it might be best to avoid mentioning his family too much in the future. Perhaps best to only let people know... later on? So as to avoid them suddenly deciding he was something to stare at, or watch rather than interact with. Or well, to avoid behind his father's shadow of sorts. Even when the man wasn't there to cast one.

He was only mildly curious about the things, seeing as he'd never read them. Though the curiosity soon waned as he realized it was akin to his brothers little collection. "Ah." Trash. He didn't typically read anything that didn't have substantial value, or at least a plot he found worth following. "That explains it." He added after a moment, shaking his head as he tried to imagine what kind of writing would be in one. And then the type of person who would write such a thing. Neither mental image was that great and he merely shook his head. Well, the world needed a variety of people and so if that's what they wanted. "If it sells it'll be made." He finally stated, deciding he done done with the worrying over it. Society would do what it wanted, he didn't have to approve or like it.

Or understand it for that matter.

Molan's interests tended to gravitate to thing's that he could apply to their world, knowledge he could use. While he didn't mind a good novel, he had far more interest in learning about a new culture or perhaps a skill. Something he could make use of in some way. Because he could justify spending the time on it usually. If he couldn't justify it, why spend the effort on it. That was generally that's how everything went though. It didn't apply to just reading.

At that point he noticed she was watching him, both ears flicking up, sort of curious as to what she wanted. He was fairly new, so he was still learning the ropes. He wouldn't have used the word nervous to describe his feelings, but possibly cautious. He wasn't going to jump into some sort of trouble like his brother, but proceed along at a rate that suited him. Not plodding, but one where he could guarantee success in what he did. He liked to think he had a track record of sorts with such, so... aside from his failing with people he wanted to keep a good one. He'd put in proper effort and see to getting through this one day at a time. Or minute as it was at this point.

Her mentioning the books she did enjoy brought a slight head tilt again as he mused. She'd likely appreciate the collection he'd brought with him, but he wasn't certain about letting people in his room here and there. It was... well his room. Still, seeing as she was a student, she could probably borrow one sometimes. "I have a few things you might like then. You could possibly borrow them as long as you're careful." A few were also harder to come by, but that was normal. Everyone had a few rare titles in their collections, right? The second thing she mentioned though, he recognized as a game. Hadn't someone been talking about those gaming systems at a party? He hadn't personally tried any so he didn't know much about it. "So... what do you do with that game?" He was obviously paying attention, his tail flicking a few times as he waited. He'd heard of the gaming systems and been told they were fun, just never gotten to playing one.

Being able to buy one, and having a reason to get one were two different different things after all. He'd never had a valid reason to desire to get one. They were supposedly very distracting?

He merely nodded at the last bit though. He understood it well, and often took to similar things. "It's useful for understanding why things happen. As well, finding a nice quiet location to watch the world from brings a peace of it's own." He quite loved finding a nice hill or something along those lines to rest on, so really perhaps he should have listed that earlier. It really didn't seem important enough. Then again, did he really want to tell people taking naps was a hobby? That seemed a touch silly.

Seiana_ZI
He doesn't make the most sense at times. He likes the idea of fitting in, he's just... kind of a hermit who hasn't spent much time doing normal stuff. So he's like '???' when asked to start a conversation.

Molan's immediate response to the dime novels amused her, and perhaps if she was not wearing that mask over her lips, he would have seen the way her face twitched upwards in a bit of a smile, but she snapped her twitches to a stop immediately, going back to a rather neutral expression before the cut on her face was visible beyond the mask. She couldn't let anyone know what marked her as a kuchisake-onna...

If it sells it'll be made was right. That's how a lot of things ended up being created, Serafina suspected.

He was offering to let her borrow things, and Serafina immediately zoned in on that. It meant that she had somehow made a good enough impression on him that he was okay with letting her borrow his things, which was certainly a step in the right direction. She did feel like she was making a friend here, really, but she might have been assuming too much considering what a subdued person Molan seemed to be--the quieter people were slower to make friends, right? That was what she thought she read in a psychology book once, but she couldn't recall, really.

But debating if she had really started developing a bond while she was trying to develop the bond was rather silly. "Of course," offered the ghoul, nodding her head. "Books are something someone should be generally careful with. To be honest, I don't even understand when the professors make us write and highlight in books. Doesn't seem like what we should be doing with them." Writing and highlighting in a notebook, though, was a completely different story. Notebooks were something they were expected to mark up...

Dance Dance Dedolution was an interesting game to summarize, and she laughed at her attempt. "Well, I wouldn't really call it a dancing game." Not really, considering that it mostly involved hitting buttons as fast as possible with feet. "It's something of an exercise game to music, so you don't really realize it's an exercise game. But you watch the arrows on screen and attempt to match those arrows by hitting them with your feet on rhythm on the pad they give you. It can be a bit challenging, but it's a nice way to get a bit of a workout." Plus, she thought she looked rather awesome doing it, and something that made her look better to others was always something of a welcome bonus.

Admittedly, Serafina was rather pleased that Molan seemed to understand her desire to watch people.

There was something nice about quiet, but Serafina also liked noise, herself. Sometimes, just being in the maul to watch people was something she enjoyed doing, and there was definitely no shortage of noise in such a location. She had just learned to blank out the background noise, zoning in on the tidbits she wanted to pick up and the people she was keeping the closest attention on. "It's also useful for figuring out what makes people tick... and it's honestly interesting to watch how people behave."

She coughed lightly. "I don't mind quiet either, though ... certainly could use more here." That music was obnoxious.

Raja
Aww, poor thing. XD Serafina is definitely a bit of a social butterfly in comparison, haha.

Honestly he was amazed at what people made for the world. He saw strange things all the time and was merely left boggled in all truth. That included books. He'd read a few on the concept of how the market even worked in regards to new items and their... demand. It was a bit interesting how even the most pointless things, with proper advertisement, could become popular in all truth. If the mentality was rendered properly one could be convinced they needed just about anything. Honestly, he thought it was one of the more impressive forms of manipulation out there. Turning the most ridiculous concepts into a must have item. It too a lot of skill in his opinion.

Impressive and ridiculous.

He didn't think too much of offering to lend her books, while they were his things she'd wanted to impress him. By default, she wouldn't want to upset him by stealing or taking him. Basic logic said she'd give them back because, for some reason, she seemed to think his family being in politics was important. Really, he assumed there were a lot of big names in the school if you knew where to look. He'd run into one already in the form of a Leandre. He was certain there were others as well if you looked. The demon dorms were likely full of them he was certain. After all. This was a prestigious school. If not, his father would never have insisted both of them come here.

"Mm there are times when it is important to note parts, though I prefer to write it to one side." He didn't mind writing notes actually, fart better than marring a fine tome of knowledge with his scrawling on it. So he honestly agreed with the girl to a point. If she did borrow a book she'd find they were in immaculate condition if you ignored the fact it was obvious they'd been read more than a few times. He wasn't stupid, but he didn't have a photographic memory. So he did often read things again later to refresh his memory.

As Serafina began explaining the game he could only watch, tilting his head a bit at the description. So it was a game about jumping on buttons. Didn't.... they play games like that as scarelings? Certainly he thought it sounded like it had potential, music was something people enjoyed, but it escaped him a bit as to why it might be so popular? Perhaps it was one of those things you had to see to understand, but he obviously didn't really get it by the look on his face. "I... see." It wasn't a look of disdain. He was just perplexed. Trying to picture how someone would play a game while jumping on the buttons. Well, if it was fun that was good.

He idly listened as he continued on after that, nodding in agreement at the mention of working to understand people. It was useful, being able to predict how everyone would react or behave in a situation aided in being able to control said situation. A useful tool really. Something that was to be praised by his father if he did end up getting better at it.

He was about to reply when he suddenly noticed that the keeper of this area, that ghoul in pink, seemed to be working her way along to call everyone back from their little 'dates.' To which he offered a small smile and a bit of a shrug at that. That fifteen minutes could have been worse he guessed. Perhaps. Well, it was time to be off then. Perhaps his brother would let him return to his dorm now. "I suppose we stop there then." He replied slowly, not really sure what to say at that point. "It has been a pleasure meeting you, Serafina?" He added, mostly being polite. He didn't think such things were necessary every time, but well he felt since he'd taken her time he could do that much. "I'm certain we'll see each other around the academy." He added before taking time to dust off his clothes a bit.

He did wait for her to have a chance to reply before starting off, but it was obvious they were already probably running a bit late. So after giving her a final smiling he wandered back, intending to find his brother and... likely give him a stern talking to.

His reaction to Dance Dance Dedolution wasn't as excited as she might have hoped, but of course, that whole game was a bit silly, especially when describing from the outside. It was a game that was much easier to just jump into and play than attempt to explain to someone else, and by that same token, it was also a much easier game to watch to understand than it was to explain.

It was another situation where people watching was useful.

Despite how observant Serafina could occasionally be, she was a bit surprised to find that the Trick-or-Treater seemed to be busy ending their little speed dates. Had it been fifteen minutes already? She looked down at her wrist as if attempting to check the time, perhaps jokingly, before pulling her skellyphone out of her pocket to actually check the time. Huh. It was actually a bit over fifteen minutes. Well, that wasn't a bad thing, right?

Serafina looked back up to Molan, tucking her skellyphone back into her pocket.

"Fifteen minutes isn't a terribly long time, is it?" Serafina offered her hand to Molan as a show of her own politeness, taking his hand and shaking it if it was accepted. Then, she bowed her head, an exit the same way as she had greeted. "We'll most definitely see each other again! Oh, and you'll probably find me around the ghost dorms if you ever wanted to seek me out..."

Should she leave her skellyphone number? That was a bit awkward. They weren't going to be actually dating, right? Still, that was the most convenient way to keep in touch, at least she thought. Amityville was a big school, as much as it was also exclusive. It wasn't exactly easy to count on just running into each other again. She paused before she walked away, jotting something down and handing it over to Molan.

"And you can call me if you'd like to hang out again, of course."

Or not, but hopefully she hadn't ruined his impression too much with her misstep. Deciding not to delay any further, she bowed her head once more, before returning to the original table where they had started ... to no doubt face that very obnoxious Trick-or-Treater.
