Holy frak, Batman, I can't believe the headache this is turning out to be.
I think Steam might have finished installing? It's really hard to tell because Ubuntu completely froze up. I had to use (and also learn) alt+sysreq+reisub tonight. I really feel like this whole frakking experience is turning me into a major Linux geek. I have never used the sysreq key before. Did you even know it did anything? (it's usually by print screen)
But it seems to have safely rebooted! It took what seems like forever (maybe ten minutes? I should've looked at a clock) but Steam actually opened!
Team Fortress 2 is installing! I repeat, Team Fortress 2 is installing! 0% and rising. *deja vu*
I am so weary. Please, oh, please, oh, please, let it install and open and give me the penguin without any more hassle!

Penguins can too fly, if you put them in a dumb enough flash game. I may not play TF2 now, but I do intend to come back to it some day, and I want to look pretty when I do (I am such a girl sometimes -.-;; ) But, like, besides my Medic (I still love you for helping me get that mask thing, Wolfie-kun), my characters are ugly and boring. If they were bunny people with penguins, they could at least pretend to be cool looking... At least, until my friend asks for his Max's back, and then my guys have to run around in Gibbuses... Download's at 40%. I thought it would be a little further along by now, but it got disconnected from the internet while I was sleeping.

Steam just randomly shut itself off last night. Instead of nine hours of downloading, it seems to have only done, like, 30 minutes. And my Ubuntu is still periodically disconnecting from the internet. It keeps asking me for the wifi password, even though it knows the password and has already typed it in for me. It's just a petulant child that can't do anything on its own until I click "connect." I swear, Steam and Ubuntu are worse than young children with ADD. They wander off and fail miserably every time I leave them alone for any period of time.
But the download's at 51% now. It should've been done by tonight, but now I estimate sometime tomorrow. *knock on wood*

At this point, I just want to be done with this whole thing, so I can play League without the TF2 download killing my ping. I've missed out on so many first win bonuses now... (Cause you know how much I need more IP, lol)

Earlier, Steam crashed. Again. I can't help but fear that it forgot its place and started over because it says it's only at 8% now. It was at 69% last time I checked on before it crashed. It seems to be going up faster than before, so maybe I'm lucky and it's 8% of the remaining 31%. But at this point, I have forgotten what hope even is. It's probably just that my parents are asleep and not using their share of the internet right now...
There's no way this is going to be anywhere close to the buds, but that doesn't stop me from wanting it. I treat TF2 the same way that I treat Gaia. The free items might suck, but I want to hoard them, darn it! (I got the Pyrovision goggles and the Robot Chicken thing, of course)

I was sad because I had to alt-sysreq-reisub Ubuntu again and now Steam is stuck at validating cache files 100% (It's Steam's way of saying "I'm still downloading and installing updates. You just don't get to have any idea when I'm going to be done." It's driving my OCD crazy)
but now I'm happy because Fox is here! heart

D'awww, that's adorable, and not just the penguin.
I double take whenever any of my friends change their display name. But Fox is the only one where I notice picture changes.
No news on the download. Still validating cache files.
