Wilson squeezed his eyes together when male Eva continued to squish his cheek. “Um…” He reached up to rub his face a little. “! Um…” The hunter leaned back as Eva leaned in. He appeared startled at first, but then cracked a smile. “Sure, that’s fine. I’d love to! If you need any help you’re free to come to me.”
He paused, looking like a deer caught in headlights. “…sorry.”
Noticing Eva’s confused look, he cocked his head slightly. “Is something wrong?”Kaiyumi IT'S LATE AND SHORT SORRY orz

If Wilson thought that agreeing to her request was going to make her back away, he was way off. On the contrary, the minute he said yes, Eva's eyes visibly lit up as she reached out to hug him, rubbing her cheek against his in an affectionate gesture.
Be proud, Wilson. Only those who Eva deems to be her favourite people receive the honor of having their space so readily invaded.
"You're the best," She chirped, though it came out sounding rather odd with her deeper voice, "I promise I'll make you lunch sometime...as soon as I'm sure it won't kill you." Because that would be bad. Yes.
But more importantly, there was the matter of the nagging feeling. Dismissing everything else from her mind, she drew back and eyed him thoughtfully, giving a little shake of her head at his question. "It's just...bringing up all of these old memories...you seem kind of familiar. If I didn't know better..." Shaking her head, Eva trailed off with a little laugh. Patiently, he allowed Eva a few more moments of cheek squishing before gladly leaning back and rubbing his face with one hand. He smiled. “Sure. That’s not a problem! I’ve done it before with some of my previous friends. I can help you out no problem.”
The death hunter paused at her immediate rebuttal. “…I see.” Wilson stared at her through half-lidded eyes. Didn’t that sound familiar? His lips parted slightly, trying to formulate words, but nothing came out. He closed his mouth and crossed his arms. Sillybutt. Didn’t someone used to call him that a lot when he was younger? After a long period of awkward silence, he finally asked, “Sorry if I’m jumping the gun or something, but could you maybe rattle off some of your relatives’ names…?” Not suspicious at all.

Did she mention that Wilson was the best? Because Wilson was the best, and she was totally going to take him up on that offer sometime.
His reaction earned a puzzled stare, though she perked up immediately at his question. Her relatives' names? "Well uh, starting from the basics...my dad's name is Ciro and my mom's name is Jade." Grinning, she lifted her shoulders in a shrug, "Though don't ask me what my mom's Chinese name is, because I could never remember it for the life of me."
"My aunts and uncles were...oh man. I pretty much just called them all 'auntie' and 'uncle', so..."Syusaki ...it was Chinese, right. If not, substitute Chinese in your head for the correct one LOL ADFGRHJTK

Wilson stared blankly at Eva while trying to formulate a response. He knew this names. He knew them very well because his mom had always nagged him about remembering all of his relatives’ names, every shape and form. All the death hunter could really whisper was, “Uncle Ciro and Aunt Jade.”
And with furrowed brows and wide eyes, he came to the conclusion that he was staring directly at a genderbended form of one of his cousins on a remote island covered in fog.

Woah woah woah, hold it. Did Wilson just--...?
Eva squinted at him, and then folded her arms over her chest in a thoughtful manner. Could they really be cousins...? All signs pointed to yes, but just to be a hundred percent sure, she leaned in close and frowned.
"When I was little, I had a teddy bear that I carried everywhere. I'm pretty sure I had it when my cousin visited too, because I recall either auntie or uncle giving me something for him." A purple ribbon for his neck, to be more specific. "Do you remember...what that was?"
Because as much as Eva really wanted to believe it, she wanted to be super sure before she started bouncing off of walls because...family.

It was normal to be skeptical. He had been feeling critical himself just moments prior, but Wilson was just about ready to admit it. This wasn’t just a bizarre coincidence.
Eyes narrowed and arms still crossed, he covered his mouth with one hand while he stared at Eva intently. He could see where the other death hunter was going. One more confirmation test. His answer was immediate. To think that after all these years, he still remembered. His gloved hand reached for his neck “A purple ribbon around here, right?”
