Mot grinned, returning the quick hug with one of his own. She was just so happy it was infectious. It made him want to giggle too, though he held off and managed to keep it as a chuckle. "How about a movie and then coffee? OH! Or a roller coaster tour? I hear those are fun and scary." Had he ever been on one before? His player couldn't remember. Let's go with no. First time for everything. Mot stood up, offering her a hand. "Anything is fine. Either way I'm excited."

"Oooh, a coaster tour? I don't think I know what that is - but it sounds great!" She chirped, taking the boil's hand and standing up, still smiling and blushing. This had gone so well, she really couldn't believe it.
She didn't let go of his hand, tempted to rub small circles along his thumb with her own; she resisted the urge, not wanting to be too forward. Really now, she couldn't go getting all pushy right after she'd confessed. Small, slow steps Gene, that's how you needed to handle this.
"Do you think we could grab some coffee from my dorm before we leave, though? I don't really want to pay more than we have to at Bloodbucks."
Wait, but...was she going to fast? What if Mot meant going later? Oh, this was embarrassing. "I mean, unless you meant going later! That's totally fine too!" Her blush increased, silver eyes suddenly finding the floor very interesting. "I'm just...really excited." She mumbled with a sheepish smile.

"Yeah! It's basically going to different roller coaster tourist traps and trying them out. I think there is a place not far out from town that has a cluster of independently owned coasters..." He'd read it in the paper while having his morning coffee.
Gene's excitement and vigour made Mot let out a laugh. "Aww! Gene, you're so cute!" Mot said with a grin. Oh! Oh, he could call her cute, right? Hel always hated it, and it was always so hard not to say it. But Gene was more like a normal ghoul would be, right?
Then.. he could.. dote on her like a normal ghoul would like...?
...YAY!
"I'm excited too, and you know what? Why not! Let's go to your place for coffee and head out right away. It's not as if I have anything going on." It made him happy she was so excited.

Her stomach practically did a double back hand spring when he called her cute. He blush only got deeper and she looked back at Mot, grinning like a little ghoul. "Y-yeah! Sounds great!" She chirped, wanting to lean into him or something. But no, she told herself, holding his hand was just fine. Going too quickly wasn't exactly a healthy thing, as she'd learned for Mort, and she wanted to keep this a healthy and stable relationship.
She unlocked her phone to shoot Xiu a text about everything, promptly locked it, and then lead Mot down the stairs, through the school, and to the Ghost dorms, where she finally let go of his hands to pull out her french press and make them to-go cups of dark roast, with cream for Gene and nothing for Mot.
"Wait, let me grab something really quickly." She asked, making a beeline for her closet. She didn't exactly need a coat, since she didn't feel the cold, but it would look cute. Dear Jack, if she knew she'd been going on a date tonight...

The walk was pleasant, a giddy thumping in his chest as he walked hand in hand with his new ghoul.
To make a great day better, he got to have some of Gene's amazing coffee. Nothing richer or more satisfying taste than that. He nodded as Gene left to grab something, idly rocking his heels back and forth as he surveyed her living space.
Going on a date~ Gunna have some coffee~
He smiled, and hummed happily to himself. What was Gene doing anyway?

Pulling out a light coat for the evening, Gene inspected every single detail. The buttons were fine, the stitching didn't have any snags, there were no stains; she took excellent care of her clothing, but she had a date and wanted to look nice, okay?
She kept it unbuttoned for the time being, floating back to Mot and slipping her petite and chilly hand into his larger one. Hopefully he didn't mind the chill that came with touching a ghost.
"Ready?" She asked, voice still as giggly as ever.

Mot smiled as Gene returned, dressed in a coat she probably didn't need. Aesthetics, right? Ghouls~. While he wasn't aware of the fussing that came with choosing her coat, she obviously had it on for a reason. Why not give her the compliment? "You look good~." He held her chilly hand snugly, taking his coffee with his free hand. The differences in temperature was astounding.
"Ready. Have you ever been on a coaster before?" He asked as he led her out.

She giggled at his compliment, returning the favor with a squeeze of his hand. "You look good, too." She smiled brightly, blush easing a little. This was good, this was really good. Yeah, I've been on one or two with Danny before - we were basically escorting Roch and Amphi." How was the mermaid ghoul doing, anyway? She'd heard through the grapevine they weren't a couple anymore. She'd need to check up on her later.
But for now, it was all about Mot. "It sounds like you've rode a few in your lifetime?"

"UM, nope~. I think I rode one once as a scareling, but I don't remember it too well. This should be interesting!" He grinned, feeling adventurous. The scent of his coffee caught his nose, and he made a point to have a nice long sip of it.
Aaaaaah dark brew. So satisfying~
"No one makes coffee like you, Gene." He commented with a contented sigh. "Oh, I haven't started the sign yet, but I've fiddled with a few ideas. In the meantime I've been practicing flower patterns on some scrap wood."

Oh, never mind, the blush was back in full force. Hearing the boil who loved coffee just as much as she did praise hers above everyone else's... well, it got her nonexistent heart pounding in her chest. She giggled a little, looking down a bit bashfully. "Oh, I'd love to see them sometime - the sketches and the practices. Though now that Xiu's awake, she'll be in on the process too."
She took a drink of her own coffee, taking that moment to try and calm herself. She was all sorts of aflutter on the inside and outside - and that was probably okay with Mot, but she didn't want to seem clingy and desperate.
"So you've only been on one, and I've been on tame ones. This should a blast." She smiled, enjoying the thought of already trying something new together.

"Oh right! Xiu is okay now, yeah?" Mot inquired, feeling better the cute little baku might be back to her wonderful self. "I need to pay her a visit."
So with both of them newbies at the thrill of roller coasters, the day was panning out to be eventful.

After a long ride on public transit, the duo arrived at the first of the strip of amusement park rides. Their target? Tour the most dangerous, scariest rides there! The Screaming Banshee, Rip-Tide Winkel, Haunted Howler and the infamous Guillotine.
Mot.. was thinking maybe this had been a bad idea. These rides looked so scary! But.. well, they wouldn't kill him, right? He'd been in real danger before. Fake danger should be no problem!
"Hoooboy. Any second thoughts?"

Gene gulped just a little, staring at the high reaching, sky touching coasters. They were going to ride these, screaming and maybe a little crying, together. The crying totally wasn't going to be her.
Second thoughts? Maybe she shouldn't have had so much coffee. Maybe the should have just gone to a Ferris wheel. Maybe she should have brought a coat for Mot, or at least a blanket for the ride back to Amity.
Those were all safe options, though. This wasn't a night of safety - it was a night of new things. She smiled, squeezing Mot's hand in reassurance. "A few, but we should definitely do this."

Mot squeezed back, laughing nervously. "Yes. Go big, or go home... in shame." He took in a breath and steeled his will.
"Okay! Let's do this." If they screamed or cried.. well, it just meant more bond making moments?
The first of the coaster. A series of loops and seats that wiggled so hard it felt as if they would give way and toss you into the sharp and jagged decorations below. The steel rails screeched louder than a banshee's wail. The drops made ones stomach flip up into their mouth.
He would not chicken out! This was a date wit a cute ghoul. He had to be manly.
That...... didn't stop him from screaming "I'M GOING TO DIIIIIE---" on the way down the coaster.

Gene's own scream had been a more happy, laughing one as they rocketed down the tracks, giggling at Mot's screams. It was okay, she wasn't judging him - just enjoying him. The fact that he wasn't acting all big and macho and mister strongman was endearing and cute. She enjoyed how open he was with her, and she in turn would be open with him.
Once they were off the coaster, Gene linked her arm in his and led him away from the ride. She'd had a blast - hopefully Mot did too.
"Wheh, talk about thrilling!" She smiled, looking over to a refreshments booth. "Do you want some water?"

Mot spat out a bit of his hair that had flown near his mouth, linking arms with Gene as she prompted. "Aha. It was very fun. And very scary." He gave a solid look toward the refreshment stand. Hm.. if he had too much water, he'd likely have a hard time holding his bladder next he rode a coaster. Reaper Problems. "I'm okay. Still satisfied from my coffee earlier." He said with a smile. He knew Gene didn't require liquids, but maybe she wanted something. "If you want something, I can get it for you." He replied curiously. "If there are any carnival games during the tour, want to try them out? We could make it a competition on who wins the most prizes."
