Queror nodded eagerly. It seemed the hare was offering to explain his confusion! That was wonderful! He did so want to know why she wasn't a Seer and yet so interesting.
"Yesssssssss," he answered the question, tail flicking excitedly. "Confussssssed ssssssssnake."

She could see his excitement as she finally understood what was happening without him having to spell it- which she wasn't entirely sure he could do even if he obviously really wanted to. And she didn't see any reason not to give him the answer.
With a clumsy hop backward, she shifted. back into her natural form She smiled down at him, feeling very tall.

Queror gaped, leaning back farther and farther to try and fit the whole into his vision. The hare had gotten very...big. In fact, she wasn't a hare anymore, but a lioness. A very big lioness. And what he'd seen about her before that was Not Seer was much, much, much stronger now.
"Lionessssssssss?" he asked, from his position flat on his back, where he'd fallen having overbalanced himself. Yes, she was definitely a lioness, but that wasn't all she was.
He thought he might be more confused now than he'd been before!

She laughed at his reaction, he still seemed confused but perhaps he had never met a god who openly showed off their mortal disguises. Her favorite form wasn't even very sneaky, she changed form but nothing else about her appearance.
"I'm the goddess of spring," she explained.

A goddess? A real live goddess? Queror's blue eyes grew very large as he stared at the lioness before him. He'd heard people talk about gods and swear by them and pray to them, but never in such a way as to indicate that there were flesh and blood creatures with fantastical power walking through the world!
"Goddessssssss," he repeated weakly. "Sssssssssnake never think godssssss goddesssssssssesssssss real."
Clearly he was going to have to reevaluate a few things he'd thought he'd known.

Her head tilted, looking about the same as when she was a hare, still smiling when he voiced his doubts on the existence of gods. She wasn't terribly surprised, it perhaps explained some of his laughter when she questioned him.
"Well, now you know," she said brightly.

"Yesssssssss," the snake agreed, though really, he wasn't at all certain what he knew anymore. The GODDESS had made that perfectly clear. It made him wonder what else was out there in the world that was not at all what it seemed.
For the first time, Queror regretted his curiosity.
And he certainly couldn't even think what one would ask a goddess who changed from a hare to a lioness in the blink of an eye.

Smiling, Maua took a seat in the flowers, staring down at Queror as he tried to absorb this new information. Maybe she ought to have let him go on being confused, she had seen this kind of reaction before and the results were generally mixed.
"I'm sorry if you didn't really want an answer," she said, "It's not really that big of a deal."

The snake hissed unintelligibly, though someone accustomed to listening would realize that he wasn't really saying anything at all. Queror was still far too shaken to really put together any words at all.
So he turned himself over and slithered away from the goddess and out of the flower patch as fast as he possibly could. There was something to be learned from this encounter, but he certainly couldn't figure it out in the goddess' presence.

Maua watched him go, frowning once he was gone and feeling guilty for drawing that reaction out of him. He all but asked what she was if not a seer, what else should she have done? With a sigh, she glanced around to see if anybody else was around.. and got comfortable in her little flower patch.
Well, that was interesting.
