Cadence continued unlocking cages until all of the pokemon were free and she even went as far as to ensure they exited their cages. Reaching in and grasping a wary pokemon who wasn't convinced you were there to help was easier said than done though. By the time all the pokemon were free Cadence had enough bite marks and scratches to make even Nurse Joy feel a bit queasy. She sank down to the floor and began ripping her shirt in an attempt to create bandages for her arms that would work for the time being.

Raina was actually glad when the Genesis tossed the pipe out the window, at least she wouldn't be retaliating with it. Unfortunately she lost her balance when the other woman grabbed onto her arm and she staggered sideways before landing on the ground. Irritated she yanked her arm out of the other woman's grasped and rose back onto her feet.

She was starting to feel woozy though and her head was swimming. The sight of fleeing pokemon made her briefly question her sanity and then she realized that Cadence wasn't down here any longer and realized that her friend must have gone to save the pokemon upstairs. She tried to focus on her attack but it wasn't easy with dizziness and fatigue setting in. Still, she had to try, it wasn't like the girl would just let her walk out the door. Moving towards Genesis Raina pulled back her good arm and aimed for a solid hit to the face.

Raina's punch missed completely as the other trainer ducked. Soon she felt herself falling and her back hit the ground with a thud. Her head smacked the ground hard and her vision swam. Not able to tell where she was aiming she began punching and kicking hoping to hit the woman.

She knew something was very wrong but she didn't realize quite how dire her situation was. Her radial artery had been cut and she didn't have much longer left. It had only been a minute or two since the fight started but she would only be among the living for a few more minutes.

Cadence finished bandaging her arm and rose to her feet, heading down the stairwell. Hopefully the released pokemon had helped distract the rocket member enough for Raina to escape.

The last thing Raina felt was her hands and legs being pinned. By now her vision was completely black, she could only guess what was going on around her by her hearing. Focusing in she heard footsteps coming down the stairs, and the howl of Branimir as he bulked himself up for his battle. She smiled faintly, she was so proud of her pokemon.

Shortly after she gasped as a blade sank into her neck. Blood quickly filled her mouth and she coughed and gurgled. After a few seconds her body went limp as her breathing stopped and her blood pooled on the tile floor. The last things she saw were memories of herself and her pokemon and all of the adventures they had been on. Then, everything was gone.

Cadence reached the bottom of the stairwell just in time to see Genesis plunge the knife into Raina's throat. She screamed and ran towards the scene unwilling to believe what she had just witnessed. She threw all of her weight into a tackle that would hopefully knock Genesis off of her friend and cause her to lose grip on her knife.

Cadence was managing to keep her head about her despite what had happened. Her pokemon was injured, her best friend dead, and the person responsible for it was still here. Cadence pushed off of Genesis and ran for the knife. She grasped it in her hand and whirled around pointing it at the other trainer. "What have you done?!" her voice didn't sound at all like her. It sounded deeper, darker, almost malicious. Her eyes glinted in the light, they were hard, cold, and filled with hatred. She would make the girl pay.

Moving back towards the corpse of her friend Cadence crouched down, never taking her eyes off of Genesis. She reached for the pokeballs on Raina's belt and took them off one by one, bringing them up to eye level so she could see which they were. Clipping them onto her own belt she eventually found the one she had been looking for and she allowed Raina's raichu out into the room. "Amaryllis, listen to me, Raina is dead. Get back to town and get some officers."

Amaryllis was shocked but when she looked at her trainer and saw the amount of blood and that there was no movement at all, not even to breathe, she realized that the woman was telling the truth. Quickly she darted over to where the Lucario had torn up the floor and she dug down, burrowing her way back to the city for help.

Leveling her gaze on Genesis Cadence narrowed her eyes. "You are a thief. A murderer. People like you have no right to exist on this earth. I will not lower myself to your level but you had best mark my words. Someday your deeds will catch up with you, and when they do, you will wish you had never joined up with the ranks of Team Rocket."

Amaryllis ended up in the basement of the building but there was a window at the far end. She supposed it was probably an emergency escape route. She darted forward quickly, using her training with quick attack as leverage and when she was close enough she leapt up, barreling through the glass. The shards flew outwards and Amaryllis had to be careful not to cut her paws but her thick fur kept her from getting cut anywhere else. Now that she was outside the building she took off in a sprint towards the city.

Minutes later she arrived at the station and made her way inside. Her cheeks and tail sparked with electricity as she tried to gain attention. Once she had caught the eye of an officer she made for the door glancing back to see if they would follow. She ran back, poking the officer's leg with her nose and then darted back to the door. After a few moments the officer got the idea and called for her partner. With both officers and their pokemon following Amaryllis ran as quickly as she could with them in tow.

"Existing, yes, but only because karma hasn't caught up with you yet." Cadence bit out. She eyed the battle happening across the room from them for just a brief second. It looked like the two were evenly matched but if it came down to it Cadence still had Raina's other pokemon to help out. Turning her gaze back to Genesis, Cadence stepped towards her, fully intent on maiming the Rocket. She may not be a killer but she had nothing against doing some serious damage to a murderer.

Cadence was still getting closer to her adversary. She wasn't sure how much longer it would take for the police to arrive but she realized that for the moment she had the upper hand. Another glance towards the battling pokemon revealed Branimir as the victor. Cadence was fairly certain the arcanine hadn't yet realized what had happened to his trainer and she wasn't sure what to do. She had known the pokemon since he was only a young growlithe but that didn't mean he would listen to her, nor did it mean she could control him if he went into a rage. With a frown she called out to the pokemon "Branimir. C'mere boy. I need your help."

Branimir watched his opponent fall and felt a wave of satisfaction rush through him. Soon though he was summoned by his trainer's friend. Turning his head he eyed the situation. The Rocket girl was being backed into a corner by his trainer's friend, and Raina herself was... his eyes narrowed and he sniffed the air trying to decipher what exactly he was seeing. Why was Raina on the ground? Why wasn't she moving and why did Cadence have all of the pokeballs?

Rushing over he sniffed at Raina's body. Touching her hand with his nose he attempted to wake her up. It took a few more minutes for him to realize that there was way too much blood on the ground. Once he did notice the blood he quickly found the source and an agonized howl escaped him. His trainer was gone. Dead. He had failed to protect her. He whined and whimpered as he pressed his nose into her hand again. He had forgotten that Cadence had called him. Inside he was battling with himself, on the verge of going into a feral fit.

Amaryllis crested the hill looking down on the warehouse and looked over her shoulder. The officers and their pokemon were right behind her. Flicking her tail she eyed the building and she headed down the hill leading the officers towards the front door. As she closed the distance between herself and the door she heard a howl split through the air. She recognized that voice and she ran even faster, skidding to a stop in the doorway and looking in her cheeks sparked as she prepared for battle.

Amaryllis took in the scene and with a glance over her shoulder to make sure the officers were behind her and also seeing the devastation that was held within the warehouse she darted forward towards Branimir, Raina, and Cadence. She came to a stop beside Cadence and her cheeks sparked in agitation as she watched the Rocket begin her charade. She looked up at Cadence wondering what she should do and received a soundless command to stand down. The officers would be allowed to do their jobs.

Cadence glanced over her shoulder when the murderous rocket before her burst into tears. Seeing the officers in the doorway she sighed in relief and beckoned them forward. They were cautious in their approach, keeping distance between themselves and Branimir who was still struggling to maintain control of himself. Once they were close enough she wouldn't need to holler she began to explain. "Officers, do not believe her act. That woman is a rocket. She murdered my best friend, and tried to do the same to me."

She watched as the officers looked between herself and the Rocket it was clear they didn't know who to believe but she thought she might help the situation if she gained control of Branimir. Turning to look at him, trusting that her opponent wouldn't dare make a move with the officers around. She called to the canine. "Branimir, there is nothing we can do for her now. She will receive proper burial, but at this moment you need rest. Come now. Return." she held his ball out on the palm of her hand. She didn't force the powerful dog to return but hoped that he would.

Branimir was nearly lost when the familiar smell and sight of Amaryllis reached him. The sparks coming from her cheeks drew his attention and he turned to see what would happen. He didn't even notice the officers though. He watched as Cadence held out his ball towards him and he cocked his head to the side. He didn't want to leave his trainer. Not here, not like this, but he knew that the other girl was right. Stepping forward he touched his nose to the button and disappeared inside the beam of red light.

Cadence was relieved when Branimir managed to gain enough control of himself to understand what she was saying. She slipped his ball back into her pocket and then turned to once again look at the officers. "Please, help me, help my friend."

The officers were talking with eachother, keeping tabs on each of the girls, and the pokemon in the room. It seemed as if they weren't quite sure who's story to believe. Which girl was actually the victim here? Cadence still held the knife, having forgotten about it, but why would she have sent a Raichu to get their attention if she was the one who was causing the trouble? "Miss. Drop the weapon. Now." they ordered of Cadence. Best make sure that the weapons were out of play at least.

Upon hearing the command from the officer Cadence looked confused for a moment. Weapon? What weapon? Then she remembered, she had grabbed the knife from the other woman. As soon as she realized that she was holding it her muscles went limp and it clattered to the floor. With her shoe she kicked the bloody blade towards the officers and then returned her gaze to them wondering what they would do now.
