At least he seemed to be calming down, and probably not dying. She watched him rocking, noting that it didn't seem to help his situation. Sherry relaxed and closed the distance she'd put between them again.

"Oh, come now, it can't be that bad," she lifted her right paw and lightly swiped at the tip of his ear. "But I suppose we can see about getting you right side up, if you think that would help." Shaking her head, she moved a few steps over, then placed front both paws on the edge of his shell, and pushed.

Sherry was rolling her eyes. She could only listen to so much of his speech before she before she felt the need to comment. "Oh, come now," she said, even though he was still talking, "it won't be all that bad. We'll figure this out and--"

He was over, right side up and everything. And then he was apparently running away.



"I can't believe..." Sherry sighed, and took off after her favorite grump. "Jake! Where do you think you're going?"

If it had been any other day, any normal sort of day, Sherry would have let him leave. Let him go, check on him later. That was a good plan, but not a plan for today. No, today was not a normal day. And Sherry was just as worried about minipet Jake as she was herself.

And so it was that Sherry was more or less bounding after Jake. It was a bit awkward, but not quite as awkward as the first time she'd found herself with four feet.

"Jake stop. At least slow down and talk."

Four feet. Which meant that even though she'd pretty much caught up to the jerk, there wasn't much she could do. Except for... Sherry was the type of person who put things like pencils and papers in her mouth when her hands were full. So biting onto the rather large tail in front of her seemed only natural.

Not that she bit down hard, or anything. Just enough to give her a bit of purchase before she jumped forward and wrapped her forelegs around said tail, too. If Jake wasn't going to stop, he was going to have to drag her along.

At least he had stopped. Sherry was cautious about her next move. Jake was notorious for running away, and she didn't want to let that happen. So, he kept her weight on and adjusted a bit, until she was more or less sitting/laying on his tail. She contemplated climbing up onto his shell, but that might be awkward (because this was somehow less so?), and she knew he didn't like hugs, so...

Still, she'd heard that groan.

"I'm sorry," Sherry sighed. "I'm sorry I asked you to come with me and got you turned into a strange little animal." She sighed again. "But. I am going back to that island to see if I can fix this. You should come along."

He still sounded...was it sad? Sherry wasn't sure, but she didn't move.

"Can you not run away?"

"Ok." She released her hold, gathered her legs under her, and stood. Then she stepped to side, and waddled up and around so she could look Jake in the face.

"Alright. So, are you coming back with me? To the island?"

Apparently she had been holding her breath, cause she let it out in a nice big sigh of relief.

She reached out and put her paw on his, in a gesture meant to be reassuring. "We'll figure something out. Now come on, we have to get back to the portals."

Was this a terrible idea? Maybe.

"Okay."

Jake looked upset or something. She really couldn't blame him, though. She'd gotten him turned in a minipet. A cute minipet, but still. No wonder he didn't want to talk to her.

At least he was willing to go back with her. Brave soul, Sherry thought to herself as they began to their journey.
