"Youma?" Delilah called back as she looked towards Aventine. So that's what they were. But how did she know that?
But that didn't matter. Honestly Delilah could only nod as she heard the bit about running. This woman claimed she could do something in that costume with a perfume bottle. Were they not both just as helpless right now?
And then she threw the bottle.
Delilah felt her heart sink and had this been a cartoon, she would have done what they call as a 'giant sweat drop'. They were doomed.

"Ugly little monsters!" Aventine replied, as though that was all the information this girl needed to know. "They suck out your energy when they can. It can get really dangerous, I just don't want anyone to tangle with them." The little break to talk proved slightly disastrous; one of the youma craned it's neck and sank it's little teeth into her leg. She screamed, not necessarily in pain, but surprise; it didn't help that she just so happened to be ticklish there.
Thankfully, something good came out of it: with a boost of adrenaline, Aventine offered another quick kick to the youma, and it exploded into a burst of dust. She might have cheered if she hadn't been distracted with the second youma; with the same enthusiasm and still running on her adrenaline, she beat it into the ground with her heel until it, too, was nothing more than a pile of dust. "H-How are you holding up?" she asked, spinning quickly and trying to locate the other youma.

"So like vampires for energy?" Delilah said as she shivered at the idea of something like this touching her. Still, one was coming towards her so she missed seeing the crazy woman in pink be attacked. Had she seen, she would have just run.
Instead, Delilah waited until the 'thing' came running at her. Stepping to the side, she spun her scarf like it was a towel in the school's locker room. As the thing went past her, she snapped the material towards it's head. The loud sound it made as it hit make her shiver but amazed as it appeared badly in pain. "What are these things really?" She asked before taking the scarf back in her hand, spinning it around, and throwing it like a rope around the 'neck'. Pulling tightly, she hoped it breathed like she did as well.

"—Basically energy vampires, just like you said!" Aventine said, rushing over; the youmas seemed to be taken care of on her end, and even if the girl had seemed wary of her before, she wasn't going to run away just because she thought Aventine was weird. "I mean, officially they're called youma, they are little monsters that this group of bad people had trained to hurt civilians to help them with their evil schemes, but I'm pretty sure that's not something you're gonna believe, so…"
She cleared her throat and leaned a little closer. "Wow—you're really impressive, you know that? You've definitely got that thing! You should uhm—yeah, go ahead and finish it off, if you don't want me to. It's not like it's an animal, even. It's just a monster that feeds off of energy, and if someone doesn't end it now, it's just going to get out and hurt people…"

"Youma, vampires, things that are made of dust..." Delilah breathed out and used the scarf she had wrapped around its neck to send it flying into a tree near the edge of the sidewalk. When it hit, the thing didn't stand a chance.
Still, one look would see Delilah's eyes land on the woman in pink. "Now what the heck is going on here?!?" Delilah was almsot screaming she was breathing so hard. All this was too much for her. The costume wearing woman had gotten her into a mess that made zero sense to a woman who enjoyed logic. Dusting energy things was not high on the list of believable for a day. Not to mention throwing antique bottles at merkat like creatures. That reminded her.
"And please tell me how a perfume bottle is helpful?" Delilah asked as she glanced back to where it had been thrown before looking at her scarf. Her face turned into a deep frown as she noticed the snags. Those wouldn't come out.

"Well! It did come in handy—didn't you see?" Aventine shot back defensively. Almost anything would have been more effective but hell—she'd take what she could get. And besides; she'd gotten attached to the little bottle.
"Don't hate on it…" She caressed it, as if to soothe it from offense—though her mood abruptly changed. "Though, you know, I've seen people with way more interesting weapons, so that's crap. What good is a perfume bottle supposed to do!"
She sighed heavily—agitated—and then just shoved it away. "I'll get back to you on that. As for what's going on here…"
…How was she supposed to explain it to a civilian? Wasn't it their job to try and keep the civilians in the dark about all this trouble? Or was it better to let them know—let them know that the knights and senshi were only there to help?
"…Look, it's a long story." And one she really didn't think she knew enough about to be reciting. "Let's just say that Destiny City is kind of a hotspot for trouble, and every so often, those things creep out of the shadows. So, it's not like you have to worry about monsters crawling out from under your bed or anything! …But definitely they will pop up outside. I have no idea where they come from, but I see them around. And I fight them—so people like you can be safer."

Way more interesting? Delilah's mind didn't even want to try and understand what she would think if she ran into someone running around town using a frying pan as a weapon. Or heck, a feather. At least if the bottle broke, it would allow glass shards.
"So basiclly a lot of people running around Destiny City is costumes not made for this time of year battling dust made creatures that could pop out at any time?" Delilah just sighed and shook her head. "That makes me wonder why more people haven't gotten hurt. Or even just upped and moved..."
Finally Delilah looked back at the woman. Her annoyance softened and she wrapped the ruined scarf around her neck. "Let me by you a coffee to make up for the ruined one. At least I can do." She then looked the woman up and down. "And will keep you from freezing to death."

Aventine simply laughed awkwardly at the initial question; she wasn't wholly sure how to answer that. There were a lot of people running around powered up, dusting youma…and to be honest, she wasn't sure why more people hadn't moved away. If she'd had a young family, she would have.
…Or maybe she would have stayed. Not because she wanted to, but because she wasn't sure if she could abandon her sworn duty as a protector of this City. She had been chosen for some purpose—to fight back Chaos.
…Besides. Maybe Chaos had already crept into the other corners of the world? …At least here she knew there were senshi and knights to fight it.
"Coffee? I mean—that sounds great, but please don't feel obligated." She smiled, relaxing a bit now that she knew the youma were done for. "I mean, just doing my duty and all, keeping the streets of Destiny City as safe as possible. That alone keeps me from freezing to death. Not that I'd turn down free coffee, but seriously, don't feel like you owe it to me. I'm just glad you're okay!"

Delilah gave the female a half smile/laugh combo. It wasn't hard to tell she wanted the drink but she was being polite. Well, the French-dressed woman had manners to go with the attire. Go figure.
"Well, suit yourself." Delilah gave a shrug and turned to continue on her way. "But if you change your mind, I'll be getting a drink at the little stand down the street so I can grab and go. Offer stands until I leave it."
With that, the human woman started walking away before throwing up a gloved hand in a wave. "Thanks Aventine."

Aventine flashed a grin and had to refrain from chasing after the girl to nab a coffee; instead, she held up a hand, herself. "No problem! Have a good night, I'll catch you around!"
They probably could have had a fine time together had those youma not been around to strike up trouble. At least Aventine didn't have to feel silly about her outfit once she proved that she had a damn good reason to be out and about in it, but youmas bothering any civilian left a bad taste in her mouth.
She didn't want there to be a day when she wasn't around to take care of a youma before they took care of a human.
Breathing a sigh of relief, she spun on her heels and, with a little skip in her step decided maybe she could stay out a little later. Just to make sure everyone out and about at this hour got home safely.
