Any payment Chaonis got, it was one he took. And he was not afraid to do that. He grinned at her as he sat up, tilting his head at her in wonder. She looked a little uneasy still, though he had definitely done an awesome job saving her life. Twice, really, though maybe one time was cancelled out because he had put her in that danger in the first place.
Technicalities.
He did instinctively support her as she wobbled, though, looking down at her leg and seeing her favoring it. Of course she'd hurt her ankle. What damsel in distress could get through an encounter with a handsome savior without hurting their ankles?
It was required.
"Great. I guess I'm going to have to carry you some place then," he grunted, like it was some kind of hassle. He scooped her up into his arms, not feeling her weight because of his power boost. So really, it caused him no trouble to carry her, he was just whining for the sake of it. "Where do you need to go? We shouldn't stay here, cops don't like it when people knock down lamps."

Had Delilah been a mind reader and knew that this man was presently viewing her as the typical damsel in distress, she would have simply clawed his eyes out then hopped home on one leg. If she knew he was thinking himself a handsome savior, she would have laughed.
For Chaonis' sake, it was most likely a good thing she was just a normal human with no ability to read minds. Delilah even had a hard time with body language from time to time. This was not those times as she could easily see some form of annoyance building in his face.
"Hey wait a second! Her voice was full of surprise mixed with a dash of hesitance as suddenly his arms slipped from holding her up to picking her off the ground. Instead of wrapping herself up in his form like a good damsel, Delilah insisted on being the stubborn, independent woman. "Put me down! I don't need to be carried around like this. Give me a few moments and I'll be able to walk it off. "
Fun fact, the ankle swelling under her pant leg said otherwise. She wouldn't listen until her squirming caused it to tweak and she winced once more. That caused her to calm down a moment and take in the very last thing he said. Looking up at the rather disturbingly perfect hair, she had to admit he was right. "Fine. Let's just get out of here before the police do show up. I can't explain any of this and something tells me you won't be here to do it." She eyed him once more and decided to wrap her arms around his neck. "My uncle's place isn't that far from here in one of the apartment buildings. Maybe a mile or so East. If that's too far, just take me to some place away from here and safe so I can call someone to pick me up."

"Yeah yeah," he grunted as she protested, as if it was something he was used to hearing. Actually, he did not carry people that often and usually they were unconscious when he had to haul them around. He found it was better that way, they did not complain about being saved half as much.
He waited for her to realize that she couldn't walk, and grinned when she spoke again, nodding his head along.
"Yes, you're right. I won't be there to help you explain anything, that's just not my scene. Anyway, I'm sure you're more than capable of coming up with a few good lies if anyone asks, right? Just make sure to include how handsome I am."
He grinned at her, then moved off in the direction she pointed. He decided to climb up to a roof top, which he accomplished by hoping on dumpsters and then onto a fire escape. He ran to the edge of the roof and leaped over it, to the next one beside it. He landed heavily, but was mostly just messing with her.

His grin made her want to smack him. What was he being so smug about anyway? So he saved her but from two dangers at once. Was that really a big deal? He did end up one his but twice in the process. And the first time was rather amusing to see.
Wait...his butt? Glancing down just before she felt him move again, Delilah noticed something she had only caught a glance of before.
Smiling her own grin up at him, the woman gave a half shrug. "I don't know about handsome. But I would mention amazing use of hairspray and wings on your a**."
Before Delilah could counter anymore, she suddenly felt her stomach be left several floors behind. "Could you warn me?" She called out suddenly pulling herself closer to his chest and cleaning on for dear life. She would not scream. She would not scream. She would not...
Oh what the hell...
"Eeeee!"
Delilah let out as she noticed there was suddenly no ground under them before the landing on the roof. When he stopped, she turned her head around and looked back up at him. "Really? No tricks?" It was both a challenge and dripping with sarcasm as she glared straight at his face. "How am I supposed to make up a good story about the man in caution tape if I don't get alot to work with?"

"Hey. Those wings are the same space plastic as my armor, and make me look damn good. But, I do appreciate you staring at my a**, and give you permission to continue doing so, as that is what it is there for. If you'd like a picture, I'll send you one."
"Nope," he said when she asked for warning before his jumps. Where would the fun in that be? Besides no where, obviously. He laughed as he leaped over another ledge, running up to it.
He considered her questions, not much for coming up with convincing stories. He was good at lying to get his own butt out of danger, but that was the kind of thing he had to do in the moment, no thought. When he had to sit down and try to force it, his stories always fell apart.
He got caught a lot that way, when he over thought things. Now he just tried to not think. It worked so far.
"I dunno, I can't do everything. I already saved your butt twice, and it's not half as nice as mine. You have to pull your weight."

"You know, that would be very nice of you. I want to be able to use it as a background on my laptop and maybe a printout." Delilah commented while glancing back up at his face with confusion in her red eyes. Her tone dripped more sarcasm than anything though. Why in the world would he be proud of wings on his a**? The only thing she could come up with would be a mark of honor. Strange that would be what he picked.
Gripping tightly to his neck, Delilah winced back into his chest. Something told her in her core that he was messing with her. Sadly, she couldn't pretend to be comfortable no matter what mantra she played in her head. Leaping through the air with only him to hold her was terrifying. What she would never admit was after the forth leap, she was kinda starting to get a thrill out of it. Something about the air in her face and the stomach being left behind made her heart race.
"You seem to be doing a good job carrying my weight. Why should this change?" Slowly she snuggled back into his arms. "I am starting to like it." Smirking as she responded, her eyes looked up and noticed the building in front of them. "That's his complex over there. Bachelor heaven for him." She reached over and pointed to the forth floor. The blinds were shut like no one was home but she wasn't surprised. That man was always out. Why he paid for this place, she still didn't know.

Chaonis laughed and landed hard on a rooftop, looking down at her and tilting his head. He looked over to where she was pointing, nodding his head.
"What floor?"
That was a dangerous question. As if he was going to leave her on the fire escape of the right floor, or perhaps throw her through a window if she pointed out what apartment specifically. And he was the kind of guy that would be okay with doing any of those things, because they sounded fun.
He grinned thinking about it. And she was pointing to a certain floor. He moved to leap from a roof to land on the fire escape, letting them fall and landing very awkwardly on the rail, stooped down. He just barely made it without falling backwards. He scrabbled a bit, but pretended it was all part of the plan.

Based on the way he had acted before, Delilah knew that falling backwards and hitting the ground was not in his plan. No matter how cool he tried to act about it or make it seem natural.
Still, she only shook her head up at him once balance seemed restored and he appeared more stable. "Never been a gymnast?" She asked finally letting her arms relax a bit and her body feel more loose. They were close enough now. She didn't think he needed to carry her the rest of the way though she was waiting for him to put her down. Scrambling did not seem like the best idea. Her ankle was still in pain but she did not want to let him inside or have him follow her anymore.
" I can make it from here. If you don't mind..." She added looking down at the flatter part of the escape with a 'you get the hint' look. Flat surface seemed both welcoming and disappointing. What it must be like to move like that all the time?
"Thanks." Delilah added looking one more time back at him. "Delilah by the way."

"I think I picked it up pretty good," he countered, shrugging nonchalantly. It made them wobbly awkwardly, and he moved to set her down carefully just in case. He found better purchase on the railing after he did that, as well, which was better for them both in the end.
He did not need to embarrass himself now that he was feeling pretty cool.
"You can call me Chaonis. Eternal Senshi of Danger, but that last bit is a mouthful. Try not to get yourself attacked by any more monsters, eh? But if you do, I'll probably drop by again to help. So see you around, maybe."
He grinned at her devilishly, then leaped backwards from the railing, doing a nice flip in the air before he fell to the ground below, landing in a crouch on top of a car, which set off a loud alarm. He was anticipating that, but he let out a hoot of a laugh before he leaped off the car and took off running, waving over his shoulder because he was sure she was still watching him go.
Who wouldn't?

Sadly he was right. Delilah was still standing on the fire escape watching him leave. Be it because she wanted to see what he would do or it was just interesting, she looked down to see him hit the car. Shaking her head as he laughed, Delilah had to admit he was amusing. The man could provide entertainment.
"Chaonis, huh?" Her voice was calm up until the wince of pain from her ankle made her look down. With a sigh, she opened up the 'back' entrance to her uncle's. Of course no one was home so she quickly shut it and found her way to the phone.
"I think I will have to say I hope we never meet again." She sighed dialing her father's phone.
