Painite smiled as he attacked her, since he was doing exactly what she wanted him to do. She laughed and watched him as he tried to be smooth about it. He certainly had gumption, she gave him that, but her rank and boosts in strength and speed played in her favor.
She lashed out while he was swinging, slamming her palm forward straight into his nose in an effort to halt his progress altogether in a very sudden and painful way.
There were many things she liked about her profession, and goofing around was one of them.
No matter what she did, she was having fun. Killing him would be fun, tormenting and torturing him would be fun. Or, as it seemed right now, just taunting him in the most aggravating ways she could think of was fun. How mad would he get? What would he try? She was cocky, knights didn't scare her in the slightest. Nothing did, she was finding.

Shang didn't make contact with Painite, but her palm connecting with his face causing a sharp throb to blossom through his nose and over his cheeks. He stumbled right coming up to clutch his aching face. He was starting to see why training training training was all he heard. He didn't think he quite had enough, but he wasn't ready to really admit it.
He was also rather irritated and rather wanted to strangle Painite. He didn't likely being blatantly taunted. He hadn't stumbled to far from her still in rather close range he jumped at her, with no intention of hitting her, only getting closer and dropping down suddenly swinging his foot of to try to knock her off her feet. He'd never tried the move before, but he had seen it enough, while it was probably a clumsily attempt he tried it anyway.
At the same time he summoned his little reflex hammer, even thought the thing wasn't much good to him, he swung it at Painite rather blindly. He looked serious now, as opposed to a few moment before.

Painite felt like a cat playing with a mouse. A baby mouse. He was a cute little toy and she grinned at him eagerly. She wanted to enjoy herself with him but doubted he would let her for much longer. She would need to make sure he didn't get away from her.
Or worse, another goodie goodie didn't show up to save him. That always happened and it drove her crazy. How was she supposed to kill them all when there were so many of them that they kept appearing in small herds?
Maybe she needed to start teaming up with people herself, and that would help her keep the fights 'fair'. Or rather, tilted in her favor so she could always win. That would rock.
She liked winning.
When he hit her legs she didn't fall, but it did stumble her a bit. It was his hammer that caught her off guard, hitting her right in the eye. She let out a surprised howl of pain, pulling herself backwards and clamping her hands over her eye.
"You little brat!" she howled, whether he had meant to do it or not.

It was a good shot for a blind swing and most people wouldn't have felt proud, but it made Shang for ashamed even though they were trying to hurt each other. Her calling him a brat went totally ignored and an, "I'm sorry," left his lips so fast her barely realized he said it.
More so, his hand were out and he had moved toward Painite, an automatic reaction, as though he fully intended to pull her hands away from her eye and take a look at it. He was just that type of person and he was a doctor. He had, however, realized what he was doing and that the enraged woman before him would probably not appreciate his actions in the least.
It took a lot to step back, to back up, to turn around and run. He ran as fast as he could calling out as he left, "I'm sorry," the thought 'I'll fix it, one day' never making it from his mouth. He knew he probably couldn't and wouldn't get the chance, but it was a comforting thought.

Painite paused for a moment.
It was not very often that someone apologized to her, considering her business and how she all but required them to scream and hate her. She made her enemies very specifically.
While she was distracted by both her aching eye and her confusion, she opened up a window long enough for the knight to start running. She frowned at him as he took off running but opted not to give chase. It wouldn't be hard, just teleporting her way to catch up, but her face hurt and she was a little thrown off now by his apology.
She didn't like that she could be rattled by something so simple.
"This isn't over," she called, as loud as she could, "don't think you're getting away, just because I'm not chasing." But she wasn't sure he could hear her. Grunting, dissatisfied now, she turned the opposite direction to go and nurse her injury.
