Alex let out a surprised gasp as the smoke appeared again, and was even more surprised to witness the creature. She had never seen anything like it. She was sure her face betrayed the total awe that she felt. "Its... so... cute..." A small laugh came from Alex, she hadn't used that word in years. It felt so weird, suddenly not being held accountable for her people's customs, their ways, their pride. Surely one can have the Fire without all the constriction... right? She turned back to Yai, a fond interest in her voice, "Really? Anything? Like anything in the world?" Alex suddenly wondered what other strange creatures were in the Blue Sea.

 Yai could tell she found Tanuko cute. Who wouldn't? But then again, most animals on the Blue Sea weren't found on the Sky Islands. And if the rumor he heard was true, any animal from the Blue Sea brought to White Sea grew much larger as it got older. And from what Yai had observed, smaller things were naturally cuter. Tanuko herself was still technically a sea tanuki puppy. "Almost anything. Can't become other animals, so no Den Den Mushi. Can't become Dials, either. Can only become one object at a time, so no ammunition for any weapon she becomes. Carry arrows for her bow form."He gestured with his thumb to the quiver of arrows on his back. Yai reached into his bag and pulled out a stick of jerky, feeding it to the sea tanuki. Tanuko sniffed it a bit before nibbling on it, breaking a piece off and holding it in her front legs, taking little bites. Maybe it was from being raised by Yai since almost a newborn, but Tanuko was adept at using her front legs like arms and hands. It almost made her a bit like a raccoon, which sea tanuki resembled. Alex simply watched in an intense form of amazement at the small creature, musing over its mysteriousness. Only after a few moments would her attention pass on to be directed at the surrounding people and events. As they continued, a thought occurred to Alex, "Yai, what were you going to do when you got here?" She felt slightly responsible, having been cast on him for little other reason than shared curiosity.

A small smile was on Yai's lips. She was curious, wasn't she? To be honest, he found it cute. Granted, most people would feel a female bounty hunter should be anything but cute. But Yai could tell that just as strong and tough as Alex was, she was also fairly unfamiliar with the Blue Sea, like a child would be. And that was kind of cute. Though he also found her fascinating. The sky islands was one of the few places he hadn't been during his days as a World Noble. He had a lot of questions for her, but he had to hold them in. Wait for a better time, so he wouldn't hound her with them all at once. "Was going to see what I could find out about One Piece... But was thinking of stopping somewhere for a bite to eat first. Care to join?"The little sea tanuki on his shoulder perked at the idea of a nice, cooked meal. She finished eating the piece of jerky, hopping up and down in excitement of dining with this nice lady. "Nuki! Nuki!" she cried. "Hm... Looks like Tanuko likes you, Alex." Yai explained with a small smile. "Nuki!" Tanuko agreed. Location: Clock Town

Alex wasn't sure at first how to respond to his invitation, and suddenly found herself thinking what her Father would say about it. He probably wouldn't approve of it, being continuously accommodated for and owing this man more and more for his kindness. However, this thought simply spurred her towards it, and with a final push of Tanuko's acceptance, she would give Yai a small laugh and smile. "Meheh heh heh, if you insist, I would be glad to join you and Tanuko," Alex said happily. She was glad that she had found a person on the Blue Sea that was so different than everything she had known. Glad to see things she had never seen. And she was reluctant to waste even a moment to experience more before her return. "Lead the way, Yai."

Yai's small smile widened, if only a little. "Great. Follow me. See if I can find a nice place to eat. What I remember of my last time here back when I was a kid, Hallowed Ground allows pets."Turning, Yai walked down the street, heading for the entertainment district. There was a booth near the harbor that had free maps of Clock Town, so the entertainment district wasn't hard to find. The map just didn't list any specific stores, so it took some asking to find Hallowed Ground. Stepping inside, Yai found a booth and sat down, the little tanuki hopping off his shoulder and scurrying into a dog-like sitting position on the table. Soon enough, a red-eyed woman in a corset walked up, holding a pad of paper and a pencil. "Welcome to Hallowed Ground! I'm Hallow, and I'll be your waitress this afternoon. What can I get you?" she asked. Yai looked at the menu, browsing it. "Salad and lemonade, please. And can you boil some ground beef and rice for my sea tanuki?""Nuki!" Tanuko agreed. "Comin' right up." She wrote it down, using some kind of weird symbols as shorthand. "And what about you, miss?" Hallow asked, turning to Alex and smiling. Location: Clock Town, Hallowed Ground

Alex looked around wondrously, seemingly interested in every little detail of the place. Upon looking at the menu, however, she found that she didn't even know what a good portion of it was. She had only seen one or two vegetables or fruits other than pumpkins in Skypia and the only meat they got was usually Sky Fish. Not seeing much more of an alternative, she pointed to the only pumpkin dish she saw, "I'll have that. Pumpkin pie and some water please," she said happily. Alex felt curious about the various other things that were written on the menu, but figured that they would never get anywhere with the woman giving every gruesome detail of every dish they had. When the waitress retreated to put in the order, she busied herself by braiding her hair, a bored and nervous habit of hers. "So, can I ask why you came to Clock Town? Or are you one of those after that treasure stuff?" Alex asked pleasantly. She was raised in a place were one didn't really have to keep secrets and people were quite open about a lot of things, not to mention they were a more... aggressive people.

Yai watched curiously as Alex looked the menu over. Come to think of it, there wasn't any soil in Skypiea, was there? So how did they grow crops? Or did they just rely on sky fish? Or were vegetables in Skypiea capable of being grown in some of the more solid clouds? There was so much he didn't know about the sky islands, and he was dying to ask this girl, but he didn't want to hound her with all of his fascinated questions. "Pumpkin pie and a water, coming right up." Hallow jotted it down with those strange symbols, a mysterious smile on her face. She turned to walk away, leaving the two bounty hunters to their own devices. "So..." Yai began, leaning back in his seat to get more comfortable. "Tell me about Skypiea. Never been there, myself. Curious what it's like, honestly."Well, truthfully, Skypiea was one of the few places he hadn't been. But he couldn't tell her that without raising some questions, like how could a simple bounty hunter be so well-traveled. Tanuko was currently chewing on the cap of a bottle of ketchup. Yai reached over and opened it for her, the sea tanuki murring in thanks and positioning the bottle between her fore and hind legs. With each little squeeze she gave, a little dollop of ketchup appeared from the opened cap of the bottle, which the aquatic shapeshifter licked off one by one, seeming delighted. Alex thought for a few moments, watching Tanuko lap up the red liquid that smelled of salt. How would one explain something they spent their whole lives in? "Well, I haven't seen a whole lot of the actual Angel Island, I know Upper Yard like its the back of my hand. Unlike most of Skypiea that is mostly Island Cloud, Upper Yard is strictly Vearth and has lots of trees and old buildings of Building Vearth. I think you would know more about Vearth, so I guess I can try and tell you about what Angel Island used to look like..." She said, tapping her chin with her fingers in thought. "Well, Island Clouds are solid enough to where you can stand on them, and they are much softer than Vearth. The Skypieans shaped buildings out of them and made small cities on top of the Sea Clouds. It used to look very pretty. But ever since God Enel destroyed the Island, its gotten a lot bigger and better. Shandians walked on Angel Island for one of the first times in 600 years," Alex explained happily. "By the time I left, they had most of the Island built back and Rubber Band Land is fun too. Do you have a Rubber Band Land?" she asked back, not sure what else to say. It was difficult, trying to describe something so natural to a person who might not know the same things. She was also not very keen on going into Shandian topics...
