It was a pity the loss of life but she didn't feel like getting eaten and never would. She nodded at Atlas for his help. Then she walked up and poked the dead critter. Hmm soft fur would be nice in winter. She shook her head and found some moss and wetted it. She walked up to Atlas looked him in the eye then dabbed at his sides. She knew it would sting, but cleaning the wounds would be an apt thank you.

Atlas blinked. Moss? What was she going to do with that? At the sudden stinging of his side, he snarled, instinctively snapping at the source of his pain. He didn't catch her because of the angle, but his notorious temper was getting the better of him.

She being a stubron little brat snarled back and placed a leg over his back so she could reach better. Yes it stung but if he got over it like a real male, it would sooth and clean.

Atlas stared at the filly. She was... different. He hadn't interacted with other foals, but he was sure he'd never seen any of the females snarling at anyone. He inspected his side, discovering what she was doing. She was cleaning the wounds. He grudgingly didn't move further, his body going rigid when a leg was placed over his back. The colt would just have to tolerate the contact until she finished.

There now his side looked better. Blood had flown clean and was clotting nicely. He had fought well with good defense so no wound was too deep. She snorted proudly then took her foot off him. She spat out the moss then went for a drink herself. She had been raised by her father who had had no trouble with giving little challenges to his tom boy filly. She had enjoyed completing them and had found her interest in animals later when everyone wasn't around as they usually scared her little things off. And that frustrated her a little. She shook her mane out and idly wondered if there was something that would try to eat them next. Then she giggled at the thought of the brown putting up a fight and winning even if ingested.

Atlas tilted his head in confusion at the giggling filly. "... What's... so funny?" he asked, speaking for the first time to someone other than his father.

Teka started a little bit at the sound of his voice. She turned wide eyes on him. He had been so quiet she hadn't know he could speak, of course she hadn't been overly chatty either.
" I was thinking about how even if you were eaten, you would probably still win."

Atlas's ears flicked back at her startled look and just blinked at her comment. Come to think of it, this was the first time she'd spoken to him. "That would not happen," he replied simply. "I would not get eaten in the first place." It wasn't him being overconfident or obnoxious; to the colt, it was fact.

"Im sure it would take a dragon to swallow you to begin with." She smiled tentatively. She had a pure lyrical voice, when she deigned to use it. Which was only when she felt like it. She liked his bluntness it was refreshing.

Atlas nodded slowly. "Or something with an equally large mouth," he agreed. He liked her voice. It was... well, he didn't know what to call it, but his ears liked listening to it. It was nothing like his father's venomous voice or his own hoarse, somewhat gravely voice. He noted the smile, but couldn't return the gesture. He'd never had any reason to smile before. And with the conversation lagging, it was a little... uncomfortable. What happened now? The colt had no idea how to interact with this filly.

His voice was deeper then her brothers, raspy like when you rubbed up against bark. She admired his silent strength. She wondered if he had lost his mother like she had. "What are you doing out her, won't your parents be looking?" Her father knew vaguely where she was, out on another excursion away from chattery siblings. "Do you have siblings?"

"... No. I don't know my mother, and my father won't look for me." Both points should've hurt more. Atlas had learned to avoid thinking about those types of things too long, though. It helped mitigate the wrongness of his lack of familial bonds. "... I have four if I include my half-siblings, but I don't know any of them."

She couldn't understand. He had no one who really cared. It made her want to take him with her but she doubted that he would, he seemed too quiet for a big family like hers. And gods did she have a big family. She was trying to find a way to help him. "Have you thought of looking for your siblings?" She reached over, crinkled up her face and nudged him on the neck gently.

"No, I haven't." Atlas automatically tensed when nudged and just barely resisted the urge to lash out. He stared at her, puzzled by the action.

Well that was enough affection, she had no clue what to do now. And this was why talking was over rated cause after the talking the silence was awkward.
