Chaonis grinned at her and then he moved to fight her, the moment he felt the power of her magic fade from over him. He could move again and he took full advantage of it, moving to swing for her face as soon as he could.
He was not going to hold back now, after all that. He was going to kick some a**, really.
But it was nothing personal. They were friends and allies, and he wanted to make sure she was strong and could defend herself if things went bad. And he could stop himself in this fight, but the idea was to be prepared for the worst the Negaverse could throw at them.
And of course, obviously their best wasn't as good as him. So he was a great sparring partner for this.
"Alright, no more snakes! Show me what you can do!"

Serpentarius while she was fast, wasn't fast enough as she felt his fist hit her dead in the cheek. Stumbling back a few, she couldn't help wince at the throbbing pain he left. She knew come morning, she would feel that one. None of that matter though, as she couldn't help but smile at his words. Fine, no snakes then.
Pure fighting, this she could do.
With a nod to tell him she understood, she lunges at him as if she was going to throw another punch. Only at the last second, she crouch down low as she swings her leg behind his so she can take him out by the knees.

Chaonis felt a little but of guilt sting the back of his head when he landed his punch, though he ignored it as if it were a bee sting or something equally irrelevant. This was a sparring match, and he was going to give her a run for her money.
But he was not the kind of guy who would hurt one of his own: he did not want to open up any chances for the Negaverse to take advantage of.
He saw her coming and anticipated her hit, though he had to react fast when she ducked down. Not fast enough, but he used his lost momentum and the forward pitching of his body when her leg hit his knee to launch his own attack. He pulled his fist up and then punched downward at her, like he was bringing down a hammer.
Except it was his fist.

Serpentarius should have seen that coming, really she should have. But, she hadn't. So when is fist came down, she hit the ground. A small gasp came from her as she felt the surge of pain go through her. Rolling away, she got to her knees, panting for a moment before she slowly got to her knees. The ringing in her head kept her off balance for a moment, but it didn't stop her from getting up once more.
Looking at Chaonis, she smirks at him for a moment before she runs at him once more. Throwing a fake punch, she lets the attack fall at the last minute as she goes to grab at his wrist. While at the same time, she brings her left leg around tot he back of his right leg, in attempt to sweep him back down while still holding his wrist.

Chaonis didn't edit himself often, a fly by the seat of his pants kind of guy, but he hesitated after he hit her only enough to let her get back to her feet. It was not about going easy on her, lord knew he was not holding back on his punches.
No.
He wanted her to get up because he wanted to see what she could do, and he wanted the battle to continue. He was not going to go easy on her, and he did not expect her to do the same, either. Still, he remembered that this was for more of a purpose than just either of them winning the fight. Ending it too soon would be a waste, and he imagined that was why she had not taken him down when he magic had him pinned.
When she grabbed his wrist he lashed out with his other hand on impulse, swinging for her cheek. Her kick had his leg buckling and he had no choice but to pitch backwards, his balance thrown, but he did not seem too worried about it. He could fight on the ground just as well as he could on his feet, and he used his free hang to grab hold of her and bring her down with him.

Serpentarius wasn't expecting him to grab at her, so when she was brought down, all she could do is gasp before she tries to roll away from him. Tugging as hard as she can, she balls her other fist up before she throws a swing at his face.
She knew this was just sparring, but at the same time she was taking it serious. After all, if she didn't take this serious, who to say she be able to handle anyone else. Chaonis, the way she saw it, was one of the strongest out there. She look up to him, and wanted nothing more then to prove that she could handle herself.
Even against him..Lithia_Brandon I am so sorry Lith, I've been sick these pass two weeks. I'm just now getting over it, and trying to get back to all my rps.

There was a difference in an angry swing and a controlled one.
He pulled away from her, whether he managed to connect or not, so he could get to his feet and gather himself. He grinned, rubbing his jaw.
"You have gotten better at this, I gotta say. That's good. Looks like you can actually keep yourself alive out there. You can thank me later. I like cookies more than pointless things like thank you cards." He grinned at her teasingly, and offered her his hand in case she needed help getting up.
He hadn't aimed to hurt her, and he wanted to keep her as his friend. He only had a few of those, legitimate ones, and he wasn't going to lose them easily whether they liked it or not.

As he rolled away, she was tempted to attack him again until she saw him get up. Looking rather confused for a moment, she couldn't help but smile as she saw him rub his jaw. Taking his hand, she uses it to help herself up before she gives it a squeeze "Yea well, you are one of the biggest reason I wanted to grow stronger. That and getting kicked off a three story building by a corrupted senshi. Kindof a huge wake up call for me." pulling her hand free, she turns to glance around for the small kitten from earlier.
It was still where she places it, curled up asleep. Reaching down, she picks it up and hugs it close as she turns back to him.
"So thank you, and I can make you cookies no problem." she chuckles as she brush the dirt off her skirt then glance herself over. A couple of cuts here and there, a few bruises forming. Nothing to bad overall.
Pushing her curls from her face, she looks back up at him as she shrugs "So I take it as I passed?" she teases him as she looks around for a brief moment out of habit. Last thing she wanted was someone to catch them off guard.
Not to say they couldn't handle it, but still.

Of course, his trouble didn't stem from being thrown off buildings, at least not too often, but rather having them brought down on top of him. True enough, it was usually his own attacks that did it, but he felt like he couldn't be blamed for things like that: he just had a lot of bad luck when it came to using his magic. It wasn't like he could control it.
Well, he might be able to if he was smart about it, but...
It didn't matter.
He let himself smile as she collected the kitten, who was undisturbed by their fight, nodding his head. "Hey, no problem. You're the kind of senshi I'd want to have my back if I ever got in trouble. Not that I would, but you know." He grinned at her broadly. It was as close to a compliment as he dared to tread, on a good day.
"It'll be fun fighting next to you some time, instead of against you like this." He folded his arms over his chest and tilted his head, one of his patented looks of amusement and, in his way, pride. He admired other kick a** people, after all.

Serpentarius chuckles as she smiles up at him, his pride was charming to her and she just couldn't help but like him. Looking back down at the kitten, she finds her smile only growing wider as it starts to purr in her arms. Leaning in just for a moment, she kiss the top of its head before she looks back towards Chaonis.
"Well, if you ever need help, your welcome to call on me. I don't mind using my snakes on people anymore, more so when they are attacking a friend." yes she did see him as a friend.
Then again, he did help her alot so why wouldn't she?
"Course you do know once I hit eternal, this mean we will have to spar again. Then we can see who the best it." she smirks at him, knowing full well in the end even he would win. He knew this job better then her, and she knew he was stronger then her.

Chaonis grinned at her and nodded his head. He was glad that the kitten was going to a good home, if she did keep it, but he was not going to say something so soft and squishy out loud. He had a bit of pride left, after all, and coddling animals was going to kill it.
Unless he was actually flirting, and not trying to look like a tough fighter, like he was at the moment. He needed to keep the identities separate.
"You got it. And I look forward to it. You're already good, and with help from someone like me, it will be easy for you to keep kicking a**. Eternal'll be a piece of cake."
He reached out and clapped her on the shoulder, his grin turning into a more honest and more pleasant smile. He was glad to be able to call her his friend, and to see her keep succeeding within the White Moon. With so many people trading sides, he clung to those he kept around him. In his way, of course.
"I'll be seeing you, then. I should probably get out of here before you snake bite me again."

With a chuckle, she carefully shuffles the kitten so she could hold it in one hand. Taking the other hand, she rest it on top of his hand on her shoulder, only to give it a squeeze "Like I said, you don't have to worry about that Chaonis unless were sparring." with that, she leans up and kisses him on the cheek. She wasn't being flirty or anything, it was just a thank you.
Stepping back, she chuckles before she crinkles her nose up "Don't be a stranger Chaonis, okay? We need to hang out more, maybe patrol once in awhile. I'll see you okay?" with that, she turns and leaps up onto the building heading back towards DCU.
Today, she swelled with pride, because she was growing stronger.
Plus, she had a new kitten to take care of now.

Chaonis smiled as she kissed him on the cheek, despite himself. He was not usually fond of displays like that, not one for hugging or cuddling, but with his friends things were different. Especially when the only witness was a small kitten.
And he was pretty sure the kitten wasn't going to tell anyone.
"I'll give you a call if I need a patrol partner, okay? And you call me if you need one, or if you need some help. Or just want round two." He grinned. It couldn't really be called round two: they'd run into each other more than that. But now they were on even footing.
So that reset the score.
He watched her as she left, taking a breath. He smiled and shook his head slowly. He needed to remember how nice this felt, having friends. Being nice to them. It was worth it.
