Zenko walked down the hall slowly inspecting all the decorations and furnishings as he walked, it seemed like these people where rather well off. Turing around he watched as Kallo closed the door behind them. He wondered how long it had taken the other to learn how to open and close doors. He followed Kallo as the older neko moved quickly down the stairs.

He followed the other closely not wanting to get lost in the strange house, as they got closer to a door he started to realize how hungry he was. Entering the kitchen Zenko watched as Kallo inspected the food and water. He wonder how long Kallo stayed here usually, it seemed that the humans had left enough food to last him a few days. "Do they always leave out so much food?" He asked curiously.

Kallo shook his head. "No, not really. Just the dried food normally, but they do leave me meaty leftovers when they have them and they expect me." He sniffed delicately at the meat again; chicken on top, but perhaps there was something else underneath- he couldn't be sure. "I guess they either had, or went to, a large family gathering last night. They'll be out visiting quite a lot."

He carefully grasped the top-most piece of chicken between his sharp teeth and stood; backing a couple of steps away to give Zenko room to get to the bowls. He nodded at him to help himself, making the end of the piece of chicken swing slightly; and then crouched to tear a mouthful off the large piece, using his paws to hold it steady. He had to be careful not to leave a mess on the polished wood floor in the kitchen; although, as his stomach suddenly (and noisily) reminded him, he wasn't likely to leave any scraps of the meat lying around.

Zenko smiled a bit as Kallo's stomach growled at them, his was a bit more quite with its rumblings. It must be nice to have a family he thought it was nice they got to take a bunch of food home when they visited them. It was lucky for Kallo and himself that they visited their relatives last night.

The teen Neko grab a piece of chicken form the bowl and dragged it off to eat. He chewed on the chicken happily, it tasted great. He ripped a piece off and swallowed it before speaking. "Thank you for sharing your food with me." The fox colored Neko took another bite.

Kallo finished his piece of chicken before replying.
"It's fine. Sounded like you didn't have anywhere else to go, so." He shrugged, heading over to the water bowl and taking a couple of laps before settling down at the dried food. He far preferred the cooked meat, but wanted to settle his rumbling stomach before he ate any more of it- he knew from experience that hunger would just make him gobble it down without savouring it, and he wanted to avoid that.

Once he'd made a decent dent in the dried food, he washed it down with plenty of water; and, no longer hungry but not yet full either, pulled some more meat out of the bowl to slowly eat and appreciate. He glanced over at Zenko to see how the younger male was finding his meal.

Zenko finished his piece of chicken. He looked at Kallo as the other spoke, he was right the younger neko wasn't quite sure what he would do latter on, he had no where to go. He would figure it out when the time came for now he had a warm place to stay food, and a friend.

He dragged another piece of chicken out of the bowl and ate it while Kallo was eating the dry food. He finished it rather quickly and found that Kallo was drinking some water so he tried the dry food. He swallowed a few mouthfuls. "The food is good." He ate more of the kibble before he wander over to the water dish. He was thirsty and the dry food didn't help. He leaned over the bowl and lapped up the water. The clean water tasted great and Zenko drank a bit slower.

"Good." Kallo finished up his meat and contemplated eating some more; but he wasn't hungry any more, and he didn't want to eat it all right now just because he was there.

Instead, he stood, and stretched his body, his small tail flicking with pleasure at the stretch in his muscles and the sensation of his no longer empty stomach. He let out a small yawn before standing back upright.

"Take your time", he said to Zenko, heading out of the kitchen and into the room next to it. It was a warm and pleasant room; a large window gave a view of the snow on the ground, the furniture was luxurious and spacious, and- Kallo's favourite feature- a long fish tank bubbled away along one wall, the lights in the lid dancing in the water and the inhabitants flashing their bright fins and tails in a wonderful show.

Kallo had a bed of his own, perfectly positioned next to an arm chair to watch the fish as they swam and danced. It was soothing, and he sat in the soft seat staring at the bubbles streaming upwards and the bright fish for a couple of moments, before starting to groom himself after his meal. He felt very content.

Zenko nodded his thanks as he grabbed another piece of chicken, It had been a while since he had a decent meal. He started to savor the food as he ate it, his twin tails swished happily behind him. Standing up after his meal he stretched and drank more water before looking around to make sure he hadn't left anything on the floors.

The fox colored neko wandered into the room that Kallo had disappeared into. He watched the snow fall for a moment before he noticed the large fish tank and moved closer to inspect it. He found it fascinating, he had never seen fish that had such long fins or bright colors. The fish he was used to where the ones that where sold in markets and occasionally the ones he spotted in rivers.

He curled up on the floor on the other side of the chair Kallo was next to and watch as the fish swam around and the bubbles floated to the surface. The fish tank was memorizing to the young Neko.

Kallo noticed Zenko enter the room as he came close to feeling content with his handiwork on his fur; shaking himself slightly to help his fur settle into place comfortably. He suspected he would be grooming himself again later; but right now, the warmth, the comfort of food, the safe environment and his disturbed night's rest were all having an effect on him. He settled down in his bed, a small purr rumbling deep in his chest.

"I hope the food was all okay." He was surprised to hear the sleepiness in his voice; he hadn't thought he had been that sleepy, and expected to hide it better. He gave his head a gentle shake to try and clear it. It didn't work.
"I suppose I'll probably have to stay here a little while, now that the weather'll make travelling harder." He shrugged; settling down even further and curling his legs and paws under himself. That wasn't too uncommon for winter; he'd spend more time alone in the warmer months, but he was forced to rely on the families he knew left their doors open, either to himself or others like him, in the colder ones. Although, he mused to himself, it's always nice to have good food just... there for me.

"It was very good, Thank you." Zenko responded still in a trance from the colorful fish swimming around in their tank, to him it seemed like they where dancing. "Yeah, it is a lot harder to travel around in the snow. How long does the cold weather usually last?" He asked curiously.

He hoped the cold weather wouldn't last too much longer, he had a tough time figuring out how to survive when he first got kicked out, he had been doing well until the cold came. He suddenly found that food was harder to come back and that the drop in the temperature made it harder to find a good place to sleep and he didn't want to impose on Kallo.

The young neko yawned as he continued to watch the dancing fish his eyes growing heavy. The warmth of the room combined with his full belly and the bubbling from the fish tank was lulling the adolescence Neko to sleep.
