"He has a program to........generate them?" She was hoping she was understanding what he was saying but such phrases were sometimes hard for her to understand. She wasn't exactly sure what a program was as it was but she decided to go with the lesser of the two misunderstandings, figuring the bold stallion wouldn't want to keep answering her questions.
Hurriedly she made her way to his side, making sure she wasn't too close to him and that she was still following whichever way he decided to turn. "What all could you accomplish Mr. Skeets? I am sure such a......creature as yourself could do much."

>There are many things I could be doing, miss, like being a moral compass for Boo--<
"Oh, hey, look. An apple orchard. I love apples. Yes, let's go have some," Booster said, cutting the robot off. He head the mare to the tree. "Do you need help getting them?"

Beyond perplexed for why Booster cut him off she tried to remember if she had ever heard the phrase 'moral compass' and what that might mean. However, she ignored trying to figure it out in place of the beautiful apples hanging from the trees.
"No. I do believe I can handle getting them myself. Thank you Booster." She smiled at him before moving off to the side, her wings expanding and pushing herself off the ground. She soared for a bit before one of her talons grabbed a shiny looking one from the top of the tree. She glanced down at him after with a shy smile. "Do you need help getting an apple?"

Booster was about to say no, but was in awe of her flight and the use of her claws. "By all means, beautiful, if I can watch you soar, you can get me all the apples you want."

Blushing brightly at being called beautiful she hid herself among the leaves as she searched for some of the best apples. Grabbing another one she hesitates before softly landing, figuring that if they need more she'll just go up and get them more.
Still slightly flushed she laid the slightly punctured apples down so that way he could take it without coming too close to her claws. "Sorry about marking them slightly. I'm still having difficulties controlling my claws and handling things gently."

The stallion lowered his head and snapped one of the apples up, munching thoughtfully, eyes slightly closed in apple-y bliss. "No worries, Ret. They taste the same with or without claw marks." He looked at her claws, gesturing a bit with an ear. "You must be a formidable fighter with those, yeah?"

Chewing happily on her own apple she was happy for her wings. Apples always tended to be the best at the top of the tree and she couldn't imagine not being able to go up and grab them. Folding her wings back against her side she just smiled at his attempt to alleviate her worries. He really was rather sweet.
"Oh not at all......I was never taught how to use them for things other then handling objects. Being taught how to fight was probably the very last thing my mother or herd ever wanted from me." She remembered vividly the one time she had asked if she could be taught defense. That was a lesson she had avoided ever since.

"Really? You never learned how to fight?' Booster asked, genuinely surprised.
>Not everyone goes looking to run head-first into danger, sir< Skeets reminded the stallion.
Booster just gave the robot a look. "You say that like it's a bad thing." He turned his attention back to Recitative. "Good thing I came along to protect you, though, right?" He gave her a grin before leaning down to munch another apple.

"No, never. It was frowned upon heavily in my family for a female to fight. Violence itself was generally avoided except for in extreme cases. Though I admit if I had reason to fight I might have been more excited to try learning.....even against my mother's will." Just saying those words was like rebelling and she felt a shiver run down her spine. She had never said something so against what she was taught.
"Running right into danger isn't that safe Booster....you could get seriously hurt." She suddenly realized that had Booster could have easily run into stronger, eviller stallions and mares instead of her. While she had been afraid of them finding her she couldn't imagine him running right into them and possibly getting hurt. "Yes.....it was quite a good thing." Smiling hesitantly her ears flicked back on her head. Maybe with her here he might not run straight into danger for awhile.

"Your herd did not believe in the females being able to protect themselves? That's... strange," Booster said, frowning a little, his usual bravdo slipping slightly. "Did you have to rely on the males just being conveniently around whenever there was trouble?"
He shrugged off her other comments, his swagger showing once again. "Someone has to brave the dangers to protect others. If not me, then who? Besides, not running into potentially harmful situations doesn't let me meet pretty mares, does it?"

Suddenly she blushed brightly, all across her face and down her neck and all she wanted to do was hide her face. He just had to ask the question she had been avoiding. She wanted to avoid it so much she had risked her life and run from her herd and now.....she had to tell him. "No....not conveniently around. I umm well see that's part of the reason I left....." Looking anywhere but at him she lowered her voice. "We were paired up. I've had a betrothed since I was a filly. He was supposed to protect me."
Desperately trying to move on from that topic she shook her head. "But still you should learn when to control yourself and think before you rush into it! I....I don't want to find out from Skeets one day that you didn't and we lost you because of it." Ok. So he had already cemented himself as her friend. She only prayed it wouldn't backfire on them.

"You couldn't lose me if you tried," Booster laughed, then sighed a bit at the other part. "So, this stallion? He leave you or something happen to him? If he wasn't willing to look after you, then maybe you are better off without."

"I'm certainly not going to try, however I meant you should be a bit more careful..." Shaking her head she gave a sort of shrug. "You may find it strange but it was how I was raised. It wasn't that the males followed us around waiting for something bad to happen. We were expected to keep away from trouble and if we strayed into it they would notice and come to our rescue."
Cocking her head to the side she stared at him not sure how she could get through his thick skull that protecting others didn't mean always jumping head first into trouble. It meant being able to actually be there to save people.

"A strange way to run a herd, but effective if your members are all still alive," Booster answered with a shrug. He peered at her from behind his goggles. "Why did you leave if it was so good? This stallion, was he not worth staying for?" Despite the blunt questions, he could not help being concerned for the mare. He dropped the bravado a bit. "You know, being a hero isn't always about being the first on the scene or running into danger to save others, sometimes... it's just being a friendly ear when another needs to talk."

Frowning she had to agree with him on that one. If her herd hadn't had the muscle and brain it did they might have all had horrible circumstances possible hit them. She glanced at him, her ears pinned back and her head hanging as she nodded. "I didn't choose to be with him. He was horrid. Full of himself in ways that weren't conductive. Not like you, he was snide about it. Mean and crude. Since he was the stallion in charge of me he often used that to lord over me." Looking up she finally allowed a serious look into her own eyes. "I had enough. While I love my family and would have stayed under their protection and under their control I could not live with myself if I had stayed under his."
