While Tessa locked up, Willow gleefully attempted to kick up snow like Somnium had. Oh it was fun! The yearling pranced around, kicking up more snow with her ears and tail upright. The typically awkward girl couldn't help the smile that wouldn't leave her face. Willow's mood was contagious. But, she had to admit, if only privately to herself, she was very excited to be hanging out with a friend in general! Which was not something... she did.

Where Somnium's look was blank, Tessa's was startled. "R-Ride him?" The thought had not crossed her mind before! Her eyes sought out the buck's in confusion, though his actions seemed answer enough. "That's alright. I'm used to walking. And I'm not sure if she'll let me or not." Tessa murmured, watching Willow as she pawed the snow, waiting on them. "She is pretty energetic."

Tessa covered her mouth delicately, hiding a giggle at Somnium. Willow trotted back over to him, nudging him before taking off again to run past their Chosen's. And then skid to a stop, shooting up a lot of snow, and racing back the way she'd just come. "I don't think the quality matters. Just... their meaning to you?" She considered her own offering. It wasn't very big, or 'gaudy'. A hand crafted candle of lavender, a few flowers, and charms to protect your loved ones.

Marco nodded. If he wasn't such a mule, Somnium really would have been useful to help carry around company. Company 99% of the time being a patient. The idea of Tessa ridding and ending up being carried off somewhere due to Willow's nature make him smile. "She might take you across town or to another if she got excited enough. Need to 'rein' her in?" It was a horrible pun, and Somnium scoffed at him for it.

The buck was trying to show Willow more or less how to get more show. Walking up to a shop, the guardian turned around and kicked his legs at the wall. A good amount of snow falling to the ground. The art was to get out of the way of the snow in time. Motioning for Willow to try, Marco shook his head. "Sorry he seems to be teaching her bad tricks." He mumbled. He hoped that the whole 'lets kick snow up and make it fall at will' didn't come back to haunt Tessa.

Show down your clothes from a bucket off it falling on you wasn't enjoyable.

"...I'm quite terrible at these things you know. Think the old gods will strike me down for a poor choice?" He joked but- "My skills rest in my ability to heal. Craft and creation is not my forte, just preservation."

Horrible the pun may have been, but it still pulled a small laugh out of Tessa. Really, she had relaxed more than she ever did around people now. The advantage to having a friend you knew well, she supposed. "I sure hope not! I'd really rather not wind up in a neighboring town with no idea of where we actually are." If she were being honest, Tessa had never really left her hometown and traveled to the others. She'd never seen reason to do so. And it would have taken her away from her work. And her mother.

The yearling watched with big eyes as Somnium kicked the wall. And then a huge torrent of snow plopped down on the ground. She made a gleeful sound, trotting over to another wall, and mimicking the buck. Her back legs hit the wall and just like with Somnium, snow came crashing down from the roof. Right on top of her head. Willow meeped and jumped back, shaking her head and finding this 'game' to be quite amusing!

"Somnium! I hope you know, I'll make you come clean the snow off my porch." Tessa threatened, shaking her head and giving Marco a smile. "It's alright. I doubt she'll do it back home." She hoped anyways.

She giggled. "I doubt that! Unless it's just a horrid offering... " Tessa gave him a look. "Maybe, for my own safety, I should stand back when you make your offering?" Was she making a joke? Why yes! Yes she was.

Marco looked up at the clouded sky. "Most of those in the towns are a friendly bunch. Just need to treat them kindly and they do the same. But then I'm a doctor, treating me poorly ends with me treating them with a scowl... any maybe a few extra pokes and prods." He was terrible, and he knew it. "You should go south one summer. It's rather lovely, and the the markets are bright with the foreign trade." He thought about it for a moment. "Books as well."

The books would intrigue her more than the textiles and other goods he guessed.

Somnium snorted in amusement as Willow found the snow falling onto her head. Looking to Tessa, the light eyed gaze of the guardian went to Marco who gave a bland reply to his buck. "I don't clean up your messes Somnium." Not all the time anyway. The guardian huffed before trotting over to Willow, trying to show her how to roll snow into a ball. It didn't go very well, his ball falling apart.

Smiling at the joke Marco nodded all the same. "I always feel they're horrid. So yes, as a doctor I must insist that for your well being to stand back. I mean you never know what can happen." The tree was coming into view and Marco's smile lessed, yet didn't fade. "Shall we go and make out offerings then?"

Tessa glanced over at Marco, eyebrows rising slowly. He actually did that to people that weren't very nice to him? It didn't surprise her too much, really. More so that it was Marco that did it. To her, he was a kind man with hidden humor that was devoted to his job. "Have you had many... difficult patients that required such... extra care?" She asked curiously, the corner of her lips tilting up in what may have been a smile. It was kind of funny to imagine. Mention of going south had her eyes widening ever so slightly. She'd never left her home before! But... "Really? I'd love to see what sort of books they had. And the foreign trade as well. One can find interesting things if they are patient enough to look through everything."

The yearling snorted and shook her coat out, dislodging as much of the snow as she could. Then looked between Somnium and her Chosen, head canted to the side slightly. She wasn't doing anything bad! Right? And then her buck friend was showing her a new trick! With an excited sound, Willow watched intently, then started pushing the snow around with her nose, attempting to make a ball out of the snow as well. She did pretty good... until the snow made her sneeze and the snowball fell apart.

Giving a small laugh, Tessa just gave Marco's arm a light swat. "I think you'll be fine! But for you, I'll stand back with our guardians. Just in case." Catching sight of the tree made her breath catch a little, that strange feeling of being tiny and someplace special making her steps slow. "Yes. I... think we should."

Looking at Tessa he debated about what to say. One one had, he didn't have it often, on the other he really shouldn't poke an prod. But, honesty was the best Policy. Not to mention Somnium would probably be upset if he lied to Tessa of all people. "Not many. Though I do it more often than I should with them." It was nice though, to see she might be interested in travel. "Get you out of this town... and away from the books monger than a few hours. Think you could handle the separation?" He joked.

Looking at the tree, Somnium stopped his snowball making to got to Marco, a small nudge to his back. He'd come for a reason hadn't he? As the doctor had a small stumble forward the buck barked something like a laugh before returning to try and make another snow ball, eyes flicking to Willow on occasion.

"I think that means I have to go first. Wish me luck." A small wave at Tessa he went to the tree, pausing to look at the clouds through it's branches. It was nice, in it's own way. Pulling a small coin from his coat he spun it in his fingers. It was hardly the best or most meaningful offering but, it was what he had on his person. Walking back he smiled a bit. "Well, I guess I did alright. Not dead or cursed as far as I can tell."

Tessa just nodded, not quite finding anything wrong with this admittance. It was still strange to think of Marco being anything other than the nice guy she knew. "Well, I guess they probably deserved it then." She said with a small shrug, not really bothered by it. However thoughts of leaving her home here were quite a different matter. "I... I think I could manage that... especially with Willow coming along." A glance was directed towards the yearling, who had a gracious amount of snow covering her face now.

Okay she was... not getting this. It was supposed to be a ball, right? She'd seen what a 'ball' was before. And this pile of snow did not look like a ball. It looked like a snow 'splat'. But it still made her giggle. Until her attention was directed towards Marco as he approached the tree. Ears flicking forward, Willow watched curiously. However when nothing exciting happened, she went back to trying to make a snowball.

Tessa gave a small laugh, though she did almost hold her breath as Marco stepped up to the tree. Her eyes gazed up at the ancient tree, that strange feeling of 'other' making her shiver. "Maybe they just took pity on you. For Somnium's sake." She teased faintly, swallowing thickly. Her turn. Pulling out her own offering, Tessa walked cautiously towards the tree, letting her eyes travel way up before she gently placed everything she'd brought along the base. Then retreated quickly with a real smile. "That... wasn't as bad as I feared."

The balls were falling apart and looking at the snow faced Willow the buck let out a huff and puff, almost a laugh. Shaking his head, Somnium went to Marco, wanting nothing more than his attention. The doctor only rubbed under the buck's chin as he watched Tessa.

"Well, I'm sure a dead man would have looked fairly bad so close to the tree. Not very visually appealing." A small glance back to the tree he sighed. "I suppose we should be going. Lingering in the cold bodes ill for us both." A small pause he motioned to the road. "Shall I walk you home or have you a few errands?"
