She smiled at his agreement to meeting her mother, though she could tell he was a bit distracted and may not have realized what he had agreed to....for the first few seconds anyways. She then took her attention back to the skies as he pointed out the stars. "A gourd? Never thought of it looking like that, but they are actually known by two names. Their 'constellation' names are Ursa Major and Ursa Minor. Its said they are a mother and baby bear. Its hard for me to see it at times though. Their intimidate shape reflects their second names, the Big and Little Dipper. They look like what humans call a ladle or something like that. I wouldn't really know." She said with a laugh.

"Doesn't look like any bear I've ever seen." he said in a petulant childish way. "Still looks like a gourd to me, and you can use those to scoop out water if they're empty." he said with a smile. "So maybe that's what a ladle is or whatever they're called." he said rolling the new word around in his mouth. Humans seemed to have the oddest words for things, but they were fun to say.
He sighed and looked back up at the sky. "I wonder if the momma bear takes good care of the little one." he said absently. He shook his head not wanting to dwell on his own relationship with his mother. Tonight was supposed to be fun, and he didn't want to ruin it by getting all depressed. "What's your favorite constellation, Aru?" he asked turning to look at the unicorn.

She turned her head to the sky and tilted her head with a chuckle. "You know, I agree with you, it does look like a gourd or ladle." She smiled down at him, but it faltered at his next comment. She moved a step closer and bumped shoulders with him lightly. She glanced down at him and looked back to the sky. "Strange things mothers. I believe that every mother wants whats best for their child, it just sometimes gets lost in translation."
She smiled brightly at him and then pondered the next question he had. She wasnt sure how to answer it. Their were so many constellations, how could one choose? Her eyes then twinkled as she found her faviorite. "You know, my faviorite constellation by far would have to be.....Eridanus, the grand river. Rivers are one of the strongest forces of nature Ive seen. They can seem small and weak, but they are part of something much bigger and have the grandest strength to forge their own way in life, always flowing ahead and never letting what's behind them slow them down."
She smiled ever so brightly her eyes sparkling and she sat on the ground. ".....And most of all, it reminds me of my best friend, Eri."

Eri smiled glad that Aruhe agreed with him about the shape of the constellation. He perked up even more when she bumped him. "I guess." he said agreeing with her. "I just wish that they were more clear with what they were trying to do." he frowned and scuffed a hoof before looking over at the mare. "I'll bet you'll be a great mother someday. You're already so kind and gentle and all that stuff." he said with a firm nod.
He waited while she pondered her favorite set of stars and he looked around the sky while he waited. It was just so big up there, he could easily get lost and forget all his problems while looking at the stars.
He blinked as she named her favorite and then blushed slightly. "I dunno how strong I am and all that." he said shuffling from hoof to hoof. "But I'm glad you like me-- I mean the constellation, or me...or both of us." he said getting slightly flustered and taking a cue from her and carefully settling himself on the ground.

She chuckled a bit at the thought of being a mother. "You know Ive never really thought about that, Im way too young. If Im anything like my mother though I think Ill be fine."
She smiled at him and glanced to the sky, she really could get lost in the night sky...in fact she often did. "You grow stronger every day, you still have some growing to do. And Im glad you like me. I mean it when I say your my best friend." she said with a slight yawn. "Oh excuse me, I guess its getting pretty late. Is your mom expecting you home tonight? If your ok with it my mother and I have plenty of room for you to stay with us for the night, Im sure she'd love to meet you too." She added a giggle in before she shook her head a bit adjusting her hair.

"I'm sure you will be." Eri said with a grin.
He then sobered and listened quietly before saying very seriously. "You're my best friend too Aru." he hid a smile as she yawned, he found it funny that she was already tired but he was still wide awake. "I..." he paused. They hadn't discussed him coming home tonight, and if he went back he'd probably wake up his mother. Better to just stay here tonight than wake her up. "I can stay here." he said. He felt his heart race a little bit at the prospect of meeting Aruhe's mother but he took a deep breath and relaxed. "I'd like to meet her too." he said and actually meant it. It would be nice to see how other people's mothers acted.

Aru smiled and slowly got up and shook herself off. "Alright then, if your sure. Let's head to my humble abode. We must get our beauty sleep. Ill walk you home in the morning after breakfast."
She waited for him to join her and then led the way. It had been a wonderful night, normally she wouldn't be tired but she was a tad frantic preparing everything earlier. She shook her hair a little as well as a little bit of chill. It would be a nice night to lead to another nice day.

Eri nodded and then stretched out a blade in front of him and used it to help lever himself up. He pulled it free and flicked the dirt from the end before refolding it and following after the mare. "Not sure beauty sleep will help me much." he said teasingly, "but worth a try."
All in all it had been a wonderful night almost magical in it's feel. Although now that he was up and moving he was starting to feel more tired. It would be nice to settle down somewhere and get some sleep. He wondered what Aru's home would be like. His was so simple. Well he'd find out soon enough. And tomorrow...yes he had to go back home, but with Aruhe around every day and even the nights were definitely a lot brighter.
