Yes. I always find something cute that can be worn as lolita as the mall. It's been especially easy since lately Vicotrian clothing has been all the rage in the upper regions of high fashion. That's how I actually get a lot of my lolita clothes, the mall.

My lolita finds: Most currently I found a lacy vest/corset thing in an adorable shade of salmon pink at old navy. The lace and ribbons on it were antique brown. I also got a pair of sorta loli wedge heels. I think they are adorable.
At Lasenza I got a lacey, vintage-looking corset. It is pretty.
At zellers once, I bought a frilly pink polka dotted skirt, kinda loli.
Once at ardenes I found a (fake) leather wrist corset with black lace and ribbons.

On June 17, 2006 I went to the mall with my cousins and sister [2 of the cousins from New York and my favorite one from California] armed with a little under $100. I was stunned to see so many things reminding me of Lolita:
I went to Hollister. Yes, Hollister. I got these two cute tops that was rather cute.
Thisand This; both in blue.
I went into Hot Topic and bought white socks with white ribbon at the top. The socks are at my thigh. I walked into Hot Topic without a speck of black and everyone in there looked at me like I was a cockroach. Ick.
I did go into Charlotte Russe (favorite store), but didn't find anything to my liking. I didn't go into Gadzooks, probably because it was crowded today. O_o Don't know why, but it was.
I went into 5-7-9 (is that the right combination? I always forget!), and found some nice skirts. Some of them were pleated, and now I wish I could have gotten them! >.< Anywhoo, that's really what I bought. I found some stores to my surprising having something that reminds of me Victorian.
>.< We don't have a Forever 21 shop in our mall. The closest one is an hour away! but we do have a Gadzooks.

This place: Urban Outifitters surprisingly has some stuff. I don't have one near me, but I found one in Ybor City while I was visiting Tampa for an animation workshop. I can't find it on their site, but I bought his cute purse from there that is black w/ white polka dots, overlayed with heart shaped cherries and has 3 layers of lace on the bottom. I also got it on sale for $16. X3

PsychodelicPenguin Sooo last friday I went to the mall, and found so many cute lolita stuff!!! If there's a gadzooks where you live, you better check a look there! They have awesome shirts there. One I really really REALLY loved. It was a sleeveless shirt in an antiquish peach with a high collar and lace detailing from then down to the shoulders. It's really really cute. I hate how they sell small sizes. D: They also have nice jewlery. I finally got pearls. heart If you have a Sears, they have awesome lolita shoes. i found some Mary Janes in black and the same style in white. They had kind of a thin low heel (about 2 inches) with a high strap across it. They also have some cute spring wear you can wear too while being cute and girly. They also had a cute Hello kitty shirt there, of Hello kitty in wonderland. It was kind of small fiitting, but nevertheless cute. Hot topic had some okay shirts. (sigh) I myself didn't like them, the fabric quality was horrible, and the button holes for one shirt i tried on didnt fit the buttons! But some people I know like Hot topic, so there. razz I found this one cute braclet, it was kind of a charm braclet, with dark metal for the braclet part, and it came down in drapped chains to other links in it. Then in the middle was a small little cameo. ^o^ It was $8 I believe. I didnt buy it because I worried it would chip or tarnish. ._. They also have Hello kitty there again yayyyy. Its of the same kind of Hello Kitty theme i mentioned about at sears. I bought this one pen, BUT IT HAD BLUE INK! >_< It's purple with a little charm attached. If you like blue ink, you can get it. >_> I mostly bought it because it was hello kitty. rofl I hate blue ink though. But that's all i saw! I rarely go to the mall, so I got all excited when I saw these things I could share with this guild. heart List any other fun things you guys find at the mall! heart Oh yes, this is at briarwood Mall in Ann Arbor, Michigan, for anyone who lives in Michigan, if they would like to check out. 3nodding oh yay! its in michigan! i was so suprised that so many lolitas are in michigan. and ones that live so close to me! ( i live about a half hour from ann arbor im prolly gonna go to that mall.)

For anyone in the Boston area I'd suggust checking out Hootananny at the Garage Mall in Harvard Square. They have some lovely things there.
I found a beautiful grey duster there, but sadly it didn't fit me.
However, they do have some victorian-esq tops (though some are high-end), and they carry platform mary-janes for not too much money (they're around $35 per pair.)
I've also found a couple things at Hot Topic, but most of thier things tend to be lower quality, and some peices are rather low-cut.
For good-quality things, I've found nice peices at Target, Urban Outfitters, and JC Penny. heart

Anthropologie has lots of things that could fit lolita, but I'm really not going to pay 300 dollars for a shirt just because it has some ruffles. I got a red skirt there with blue roses on it, it is gorgeous! It was marked down from 150 dollars to 30. http://www.anthropologie.com/jump.jsp?itemID=11892&itemType=PRODUCT&iSubCat=322&iMainCat=314Forever 21 looks cute, but theres not one where I like. Urban Outfitters is nice too. Vintage shops have lots of neat stuff, for pretty cheap.

Emy-Lou-chan I walked into Hot Topic without a speck of black and everyone in there looked at me like I was a cockroach. Ick. I'm sorry that happened to you-- people sometimes take the store far too seriously. Ours is nice, though... I walked into Hot Topic in decora once (fluffy colorful skirt, bright stripey t-shirt, socks, bracelets, bright blue shoes...) and they were extremely nice to me. It was pleasant. To reiterate what people have said, H&M is good. I found a great punk loli skirt there once, but it was quite expensive. ;____;
