"Sushi.." Shun corrected while he began to clean up. He glanced to see how Kettil was enjoying it, only to see the guy eating half the glob of wasabi.

"Did you just eat..."

Yes. Yes he did.

Ok. Maybe he hadn't had sushi before. Bringing a hand to head face again, he just sighed before pouring out some water and giving it to the Muut.

"Drink this."

Thankfully for Shun's floor, Kettil had managed to put the plate down on a nearby table as he took the glass offered and began to drink. The glass was drained within a few moments later and he offered it back panting.

"That was devilish stuff," he breathed out a few moments.

Small pause, "I like it."

"..."

Shun wondered briefly if Kettil was masochistic.

"That was called Wasabi. It's.. best in moderation."

Shaking his head, he continued to clean things up on the desk.

"..Yeah I can see that now," Kettil laughed as he picked up the plate and started eating what was on there, but more carefully this time. "This is really good! I never had any of this before. You make real good sushi," he said cheerfully. It was amazing he could still taste anything other than wasabi.

By the time he was done he paused a little. Should he ask for more? Could he have more?

...Mmm food.

"Good to hear you enjoy it. There isn't a great deal to making sushi however," he said. Though, he wasn't quite right on that. There was such thing as bad sushi. And he has had some. It was... not a good experience to say in the least.

"I'll take the plate if you're done," Shun said before pausing for a moment, "A number of restaurants serve it too, though it can be a bit pricey at times."

He almost considered offering to make more should Kettil catch more fish but he refrained for now. He kind of didn't want to be randomly disturbed for the sake of sushi.. especially when he didn't get too much out of that himself.

Kettil let the other boil take the plate and he seemed to take in this information with speculative silence. Then there was a lightbulb that went off over his head (figuratively speaking), "If it is pricey in restaurants then how pricey is it to make it yourself?"

He might be on to something.

Maybe.

Taking the plate, Shun walked off for the moment to get it cleaned up with the rest of the things. He was still able to speak to Kettil from the bathroom though.

"That depends on the quality and type of fish I get. The better, the more expensive obviously. It's still a little cheaper though."

Especially since he'd typically get more for what he paid for and such. Usually.

Kettil let out a thoughtful hum, "How willin' are you to teach me how to make sushi?" He asked curiously. Besides, maybe Freya would enjoy it. Perhaps he could make different types of sushi.

Wait...Were there different types of sushi?

..So many things to consider now.

"Does sushi always come with fish? Not sure Freya likes fish," he blurted out suddenly.

"How good are you with a knife? Can you cook rice?" the reaper asked with a raised brow, coming out of the bathroom now that the cleanup was done. Crossing his arms, he leaned against the wall about while looking towards Kettil.

"Sushi almost always has some sort of seafood. Most of the time it's raw fish. Saltwater fish at least. Fresh water would need to be cooked. Shrimp, eel, and octopus are also typically cooked," he explained, "If she doesn't like seafood, you're better off cooking something else for her."

He still didn't know that Freya was now with Kettil, but he hadn't thought anything of wanting to cook for her. After all, Hel gave him stuff she cooked. So did Xiu.

"I am alright with a knife in the kitchen. I mean I only sliced a finger a time or two and I think I can manage cooking rice." Thoughtful silence before he admitted, "Don't think I really ever cooked rice before, my family isn't much of the rice eatin' kind."

As Shun went over the options for sushi, Kettil nodded a bit and seemed to be actually very attentive and interested on the subject, "I see, I guess I could play around with it a bit. I just need to be careful with what I give her, is all. I can't have her thinkin' I am tryin' to poison her."

Kettil's voice reached a quiet falsetto as he imitated Freya, "Ach helps meh. My boilfriend is tryin' t'kills meh."

"The rice is a key part for the sushi. It's at least not hard with a rice cooker, but you'd still need the right ingredients," Shun noted. He supposed that he could teach Kettil though. It wasn't particularly complex or anything anyway.

However, he paused as the other reaper went on and imitated Freya. Mentioning... her boyfriend?

"..."

Seems like he had missed something as of late. Then again, he didn't really keep up with these things.

"Oh. Her boyfriend isn't Herryk now?" he said neutrally. Hell. He didn't even know that the draugr had gone off and gotten himself weaponized. Shaking his head, he thought this over. Last he saw the undead, he was obviously in a pisspoor mood. And not quite right in the head. And thus he muttered under his breath, "Maybe that explains why the b*****d randomly aggro'd me."

"Rice cooker, got ya," Kettil said cheerfully and tucked that information away for later investments to be made.

There was a pause and then he sort of clicked his tongue against the roof of his mouth, "Y..Yeah. They broke up," he confirmed quietly, the playfulness momentarily drained from him as he cleared his throat. The muttered words didn't entirely escape him, "Pardon?"

Shun looked up towards the other reaper as he recalled the incident, not entirely happy of what had transpired.

"He attacked me out of nowhere while I was training outside. Didn't say a damn word. Don't know what the hell got into him," he frowned. Now it.. made a little more sense. The Draugr could have just taken the break up... extremely poorly. Maybe.

He still wasn't too happy about having been brutally beaten that day. It damaged his pride a bit and all.

"That doesn't really matter at this point."

Still, he wondered if he should be trying to think of some way to get back at him for that.

"Do you still want to know how to make the sushi rice?"
PostPosted: Fri Jan 11, 2013 11:48 pm

Kettil's expression darkened a little more and then he nodded a bit, "He attacked me as well, but I guess for obvious reasons. I snapped his ********' neck," he said softly and then let it drop. He'd rather not think about it anymore.

The question honestly brightened him up a great deal as he nodded and grinned, the darkness suddenly gone from him. "Yeah! I'd love to learn if you are willin' to teach."

The Reaper raised an eyebrow. Kettil was more formidable than he thought then, though he didn't like to underestimate others anyway.

"Fortunate. He was more of a destructive force with me. I thought I had him, but.."

He shook his head and shoved it aside. Shun could remember being pummeled into the snow blow after blow, unable to retaliate to the point where he dissipated and woke up in Cricket's office. Things like that only proved he needed even more training.

It was never ending.

"I suppose I could teach you. If it'd keep you from shouting down the hall for me to feed you." he said flatly. That said, he went on and told the other just exactly how to prepare sushi. He didn't have any of it written down of course, so Kettil was going to have to make due.
