"Then white booberry tea it is," She chirped cheerfully, beaming up at the boil as she gave a swish of her tail. Xiu moved briskly as she shopped, playing a careful game of tetris as she set things in the cart to ensure that nothing would be crushed or squished.
Her offer made her smile, but a troubled look flitted over her face as well. "Thank you, but I...I don't want to impose. This amount should be fine between the two of us, but it would definitely be quite weighty if I were to add more." Sespite her delicate appearance, the ghoul was a lot stronger than she looked. That being said, splitting the weight of her usual groceries between two people already helped a lot.
Xiu's pink eyes grew round as she hastily held her hands up in front of her, shaking her head. "Oh--no! No, please don't worry about it! You're already helping me with the shopping itself--that's thanks enough!" She tried to reassure him, pausing only to lean over behind the boil to grab an onion and dump it into the cart, "And honestly, you'd be doing me a favour! My friend and I want to open a cafe when we graduate, so getting feedback from you would be very helpful."
As they wandered through the store, she tossed a few more things in the cart, and then smiled. "Done! Let's get to the checkout and then head back to school, shall we?"Kanth ...LOL REALLY aksfahsdjf that would only encourage her more, you realize adffhgfjh

Etzer smiled, nodding in reply to her. "As the gentle lady wishes," The frost demon replied, heading towards the checkout and allowing her to purchase her goods. A cafe, she said? Well, he'd just have to visit all the time, if he found that he liked her food well enough.
He also memorized the store location, as there were a few things he wanted to get for his own dorm room.
Loading the bags up, Etzer took an even amount, as he didn't want to offend Xiu, then smiled at her to lead the way. She was absolutely cute in everything she did, and he couldn't help but ponder on that thought.
"So who is this friend you're starting this business with? And what are you going to name the place? Granted, whether or not I like your food, I will still visit just to see that smile of yours." And Jack, it was an adorable smile.
He'd follow her like a puppy all the way to her doorstep if he could. Oh wait... he already was.Kaiyumi Shhh don't tell Etzer that ffffdjkjfasj

Xiu has to suppress a small laugh. Gentle lady...well, she could say that that wasn't something that she was often called. From the way Etzer spoke, he definitely gave off the air of a gentleman demon. However, while politeness and formalities were all nice and well...
Reaching up, she gave his cheeks another squish, lifting her brows at him in a dry manner. "Xiu. Don't worry about being overly polite, don't worry about formalities--just Xiu is fine." There was a brief pause as she drew her hands back, and then she laughed, crossing her arms over her chest as her expression became sheepish. "I was a really shy and overly formal ghoul when I first enrolled in the school, but I quickly got over that." She had had to, considering everything that had happened. There was no time to be meek and scared when your life was in danger.
With everything paid for and the bags of groceries divided, they headed back to the school. As they walked along the path, the ghoul turned to look at the frost demon, her eyes immediately lighting up as he asked about the cafe. "Her name is Gene! I'll be sure to introduce you if i have the chance. As for the cafe...we deciding to name it Shifting Blossoms." It was a name that incorporated a little of both ghouls.
Before long, they arrived back at Amity. The path to the demon dorms was a very familiar one to Xiu, and she pushed open the door, holding it open and gesturing for Etzer to enter first. "I'm in room 268, so up the stairs! I have my own little kitchen, so I can cook there."Kanth All the cheek squishing u___u

"You misunderstand. That is my very nature to its core," Etzer spoke, placing a hand over his heart as if he were wounded. "Do you mean to tell me that you wish for me not to be myself?" He couldn't help it - the corner of his lips was twitching up, that smile threatening to pull at his lips. She could probably spot it at this point.
"Shifting Blossoms. Intriguing name." He was impressed.
Walking into the room, he moved aside so Xiu could enter as well, waiting to be told where to put the ingredients. He was excited to try new food, and he glanced around while he waited.

At first, Xiu feared that she had offended him, her tapir-shaped ears drooping slightly as she stared up at the boil. However, when she realized that he was smiling teasingly, her tensed shoulders suddenly relaxed. Letting out a sigh of relief, she puffed her cheeks out in a pout before reaching out to lightly swat at his shoulder. "Don't scare me like that! But I expect that you'll call me Xiu now, yes?"
She lifted her brows at him expectantly, but her expression relaxed into a smile at his comment about the cafe name. "It was all Gene, really! It was her brilliant suggestion." It was just as eye-catching and elegant sounding as Xiu had hoped too.
When they reached her room, she invited him to sit down and make himself at home while she worked on cooking something up. The first thing was the tea, which she set in the fridge to chill while she made everything else. As she was a fast, brisk worker, it didn't take long until she had the food set on the table. Uncertain as to what Etzer ate, she had made a little of everything--some steak, lightly grilled fish, vegetables, and so on. Removing the now-chilled fruit tea from the fridge, she filled two glasses and set them down beside the plates.
"Uhh...okay! I think everything is ready!"

"Xiu. Noted." It was hard not to use polite terms, but Etzer put on a smile anyway, a chuckle rolling from his lips. "Though I am particularily fond of Miss Xiu," The frost demon couldn't help but add.
Finding the couch to sit on, Etzer made himself comfortable on it as he glanced around the room, quite impressed with the layout of it. "You've done nice things." And then the food came. He was doubly impressed.
"Wow, impressive service, too. You'll be a wonderful owner of your shop." Bowing his head in thanks for the meal, he picked up the meat and tried a little of that, also tasting the tea as his eyes closed in delight.
Etzer waited until he was finished chewing before he commented, hand waving over the food. "This. Is delicious. Wonderful food. Thank you very much, Mi-- Xiu." He corrected himself, feeling that familiar tug on the corner of his lips as he attempted not to laugh.

"If you call me Miss Xiu, I will call you Mister Etzer," The ghoul answered evenly, though her tone of voice and the smile on her face betrayed her genuine amusement. The demon boil was certainly not the first to refer to her so formally--a dear friend of hers still called her "Miss Xiu-Ying" to this day--but it was something that she liked to n** in the bud if at all possible.
Settling down in her chair, the baku took only a small bite as she watched Etzer curiously, awaiting his verdict. When he answered positively, the ghoul's face immediately lit up, her tail swishing behind her like a puppy's. "Ah--no, not at all! I still have plenty to work on, of course, but thank you very much." It was clear that she was quite pleased--and relieved--and she allowed herself a bigger bite of her food. Mm, not bad! Truth to be told, she didn't cook any fancy for herself usually, so this was quite a treat for her as well.
The corners of her lips quirked upwards at his small slip-up, but she shook her free hand at him with an amused laugh. "It'll take a while to get used to I guess, hmm? It's especially difficult when one is brought up in such a way, and if your parents were anything like mine..." She made a face. Being ladylike had always been a huge thing that her parents emphasized when she was growing up.
...Wonder how they'd feel about the fact their delicate daughter could punch out someone now should she really wish to.

That quirk of his was pulling at his lips again, though he fought to keep his smile down.
"Ah, yes. My father is a politician, so it might be better if I didn't break the habit at all. Who knows when father's bound to come a'calling, and if he showed up while I called you Xiu -- ramifications." He winked at her, still teasing. "It's not actually that bad. I will call you Xiu, however, if that's what you prefer. I just lean on formality because it's such a beautiful language." The frost demon took another bite of food, reveling in the taste before he continued.
"Yes. Father was always big on formality, and the battles of wit via politics. It really is something, an almost different language, really." He smiled at her. "What are your parents like?"

She cocked her head to the side as he described his father, her tapir-shaped ears slightly perked up as she listened intently. Aah, a politician! That explain a lot on the politeness front, that was for certain. Smiling lightly, she took a sip of her tea as he continued, only to nearly choke on the liquid when he mentioned ramifications. Would he really--
...Oh. Oh, he wasn't...entirely serious. "You really like to tease, don't you?" She puffed out her cheeks a little at this again, only to sigh and give a little smile. "Honestly though...in hindsight, if it's too uncomfortable for you to call me Xiu, you can tack the formalities back on." While she did prefer for that distance to be removed with her friends, she knew that there were certain habits that were hard--or uncomfortable--to break.
She seemed startled when the question was turned on her, and she let out a thoughtful hum. "My parents are...strict." She made a face before continuing, "They're very traditional as well. You know, the types who believe their daughter should be the perfect lady. I'm certain that I've become a little more headstrong than they're like in my time here at Amity, though."

"A pity. Sometimes beauty is fraught with danger, which makes it all the more exciting." He raised an eyebrow as he sipped at his tea, all the more intrigued with her. The corner of his lip twitched as he fought to keep his smile down.
"It's good to learn to fight. Keeps some from going too far in their endeavors." Too bad Etzer didn't consider himself in that particular predicament.
Finishing off his plate, Etzer leaned back and glanced around the room, feeling rather cozy in her dorm. "I also love the room." He wanted to get to know her more, and he didn't know why. He was used to making others feel this way, not have others make him feel this way.
A strange feeling, that.

Xiu had been in the midst of lifting her teacup to her lips when she paused, lifting her brow at the other demon with a faint smile. "Oh? Do you speak from experience?" She teased lightly, before taking a sip of her tea. When she set the cup down again, her lips spread into a mischievous grin. "I can't say I disagree though. Silk hiding steel, right?" It was nice not feeling like a damsel in distress--she was quite certain that she could hold her own for a while if the situation called for it.
She chucked at the comment about fighting, and then perked up in surprise at the compliment. Humming thoughtfully, she turned to regard the familiar room that she had been living in for the past year and a half. "I'm glad you like it! And ah--have you fully settled into your room already then? Please let me know if you need help with moving anything heavy!"
So said the somewhat small baku ghoul, but she could try, okay.

"Thank you, but I've moved in already for the most part. The easy part was setting up the mannequins. The hard part was setting up the mannequins." He all out grinned now, snickering at his little joke. In truth, the hardest part was putting clothing on the mannequins, and attempting to pick a style that worked.
It was a work in progress.
Etzer didn't comment on the experience part, not having gotten farther than kissing other ghouls. And some boils, as well.
"Thank you again for the food, it was wonderful. We should do this again sometime." He hated to call it off, he really did, but... there were things he had to do in his own dorm.
Like possibly designing clothing for Xiu that he thought she would look lovely in.
His eyes sparkled as he glanced over her frame again, mentally storing away information as he tilted his head. "What size clothing do you wear?"

"Ah--okay!" She beamed at him, her tail swishing behind her like an eager puppy's, "But if you ever need help with anything, let me know, okay? I guess we aren't exactly neighbors, but we do live in the same dorm. My room is always open to you if you need it!"
She shook his thanks away with a smile and an airy wave of her hand. "Don't mention it! I don't get to cook for more than one person usually, so it was nice getting to make a full, fancy meal. Thank you for helping me carry the groceries too."
The baku got up to gather up all of the dishes, only to pause and shoot Etzer a questioning look at his question. "My...size? I wear a small usually but...why do you ask?" It had come completely out of the blue. She cast him another curious look before quickly ducking into the kitchen to deposit the dirty dishes in the sink. When she came back out, she cast her new friend a somewhat concerned and wary look. "Etzer, you aren't going to go out of your way to do something for me, are you?"

"Whatever would make you say that?" Etzer asked, that traitorous tell tugging at the corner of his lips again. "My dear, it is simply a question." For now.
Etzer stood and stretched, his back and arms audibly popping as he let out a yawn. Perhaps it was time for a nice, relaxing nap.
"We should do this again... soon?" He was staring at her, his cheeks a bit darker than before.

Xiu gave him a small suspicious look, but after a moment of silence, she simply reached out and poked the corners of his lips with an amused smile. "I should hope so! Though you should really work on that poker face of yours for the future, okay?" She teased playfully, before giving a little nod.
There was a subtle change in Etzer all of a sudden, and although the baku could sense it, she didn't not know what the exact change was. Suddenly feeling a little more sheepish than she had a few moments ago, the ghoul offered him a bright grin. "Of course! Anytime, okay? Just feel free to drop by or, um...here, my number if you need to text or call me for something."
She had to scan around a bit before she could find a notepad and a pencil, but before long, she had the number jotted down on the sheet and held out to the other demon. "Just remember that I'm always willing to lend you a hand or listen if you need it, mmkay?" Xiu chirped with a smile.
