Ryan shrugged. "At this point, I don't know. I'm still trying to decide. When I came here, I knew what I was giving up and that things were going to be... different. But I didn't realize it meant we couldn't protect without given the orders to do so." He was bitter about it, clearly, and it wasn't so much the order to kill that had him angry. It was receiving the order before they knew for certain that they couldn't save them. For that, he wouldn't easily forgive, or forget for that matter.

There was a visible frown here.
"I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure what happened to prompt you to feel that way." She didn't know what had happened on the mission, after all. "But I know that sometimes you do have to prioritize things in a way that will....someday make you regret it."
She unfolded her arms to scratch underneath one ear.
"So I guess it depends on what you're risking and if it's worth it to you to move without an order."

"Trust me, I get that, and if I had thought there was no hope for them, then I would have carried out the orders. But it felt like we were giving up on them too soon. The Halloween creatures had found a cure for their own, so who's to say there wasn't one for ours as well?" He wanted to at least try before decided they were beyond saving.
"For me, personally, It was worth the risk." He answered. Though where Caelius was concerned, he supposed lashing out at the death lead wasn't the wisest of moves. But then, he hadn't been thinking straight.

Cass nodded. "I get that. I'm not judging you for wanting to save anybody. I do it almost without thinking now." She scratched her nose. "Hell, I considered transferring divisions to Moon officially after Aria and I had our fight." A fight that...she wasn't really sure still where they stood now. Quiet and awkward, she guessed.
"My question, is what were you risking exactly?"
