As Deryk began to draw, Ryan leaned in closer to see what it was he was drawing. Or at least try and figure out just what exactly he was trying to draw. It was... special.
"There see! That's an awesome uhh.. horseman?" He peered closer at the drawing.

Deryk gave a nervous laugh at Ryan's... guess.
"Ehehe... It uh...wassupposedtobeyou.. Um.. Don't kill me please," he said quickly and quietly. He decided now was a good time to slowly set aside the drawing pad. Yep.

Ryan looked at the drawing, then to Deryk, and then back to the drawing again. "Oh.. Ohhh! I see it now." He really didn't, but he didn't want to ruin it by saying so. "Why would I kill you?" Though after seeing the drawing pad, it was of little surprise for why he was reacting the way he was. "Ah... right. Don't worry, I won't be adding you to the drawing pad." Or at least not the morbid mess anyways. Friends often found there way into his drawings.
"That aside, did you come up with any methods to relieve stress? Or still thinking?"

Deryk gave another nervous chuckle at that, then nodded as Ryan said he wouldn't be added to the gorey mess of drawings in the pad. Whew. Well there was that.
"N-no... not anymore. Used to game at home. Don't have that method anymore. Not now. Maybe later. Got nothing else really. Used to spend lots of time on computer. Coding. Hacking. that sorta thing," he said while scratching his head again.

Ah, hackers. Ryan never really used computers himself, but his older adoptive brother had and he grinned as he recalled the time he saw him cursing for hours when his computer had been hacked. It made him wonder what sort of hacker Deryk was.
"So in other words electronics were the only thing you knew that could help." He must have been really taken out of his comfort zone when he was brought to Deus then. With only a few exceptions the island was almost void of any electronics. Unless of course, you could afford that runic stuff or worked in the life labs.

"Y-yeah.. could say that... Things been rough here. Well. Got coffee at least. But doesn't really do much for stress. Yes," Deryk sighed. He needed to get himself a runic laptop. He was saving up for it, but right now he didn't quite have the funds for that just yet.
"Guess I should be finding another way. Don't really got anything though, y'know?" he said, then shook his head, "Ah. Shouldn't be bothering you with this. You got your own problems, yes?"

Now he made a sound that was similar to a snort and laughter. "If you can call it that. I'm not sure it can pass as coffee. I'm not even sure its safe to drink." He had had one mug of that vile liquid in the past. Never again.
"Yeah, sorry I couldn't help with that. I'm sure you'll find something that will help." He gave him a reassuring look which was followed by a shrug. "Unfortunately, my problems aren't something that are going to go away through some stress releasing methods."

"Ehehe.. yeah. Getting myself a coffee maker soon. Get some better stuff than what's here. But.. it works.. for now," Deryk shrugged. It satisfied his coffee need in the meantime at the very least.
"Eh.. don't apologize. Not your fault. More of mine than anything really, yes," he sighed, "And well.. all the better to not have to worry about my woes. You got enough of your own."
He was in the same boat as Kat, after all.

"Good luck with that. Though you may attract a stray Kat with one of those. Fair warning." If Kat caught wind of there being better coffee brewed somewhere on the island she would lay siege to that hunter's home and fight tooth and nail for a mug of it.
"Yes, but it was at least better than brooding over my thoughts for a change."

There was a sort of weak smile at the mention of Kat.
"Wouldn't be too surprised. She already enlisted me to fetch coffee other day. Looked like she was going to go mad without it," he commented. The smile faded though, as he thought about what the two had gone through. It was pretty crazy, really.
"How you faring anyway? I mean... kinda crazy... Everything that happened.."
And they somehow managed to come away alive. Without weapons.

"I can believe that. Kat is a bit on the uhh.. crazy side." Though perhaps insane was a better word to describe her. "You should have seen her almost drown Otto when they both walked into each other and caused her to spill her coffee." It had been some time ago, but that memory was still fresh in his mind. He was also pretty sure Otto still had a grudge against him for it too. Since he hadn't done anything to help the poor guy. Quite the opposite really.
"Better than before." He answered honestly. "Can't say how long its going to last though." They had yet to actually approach any of the higher ups and given that they were still written off as dead, he wasn't sure how they were going to be received when they did. "Probably not out of the woods yet."

Laughing lightly at that, Deryk tried to imagine this happening. Yeah, he can kinda see that. He couldn't imagine Otto being too happy about that incident either. Heeee.... was going to need to avoid the other death for awhile himself. After miraculously failing with his intel assassin thing.
Why was he such a fail hunter?
"Ah... well.. hopefully.. nothing drastic will happen.. no. Would be bad, yes. A-at least you guys aren't in desert anymore.. yes?"

"I'm hoping so, but I'm also not going to hold my breath." They were dealing with Caelius here and the death lead wasn't the forgiving sort. It was actually the not knowing what was going to happen next that was really stressing him out. He knew something was going to happen. He just didn't know when, what, and how bad it was going to be.
"The island is a definitely better change than the desert, where climate is concerned." He agreed.

"Y-yeah... goodluck with that," Deryk said a little grimly. He had no idea how Caelius was going to take all of this. Would he try to just kill them himself? It wouldn't be too hard right now... The possibilities made him nervous to think about. It all went along with how there were those on the island that scared him so much more than anyone from Halloween or the Horsemen did.
"U-um... do.. do you need anything right now by the way? M-might be able to help..yes.."
He still felt kinda bad for disrupting his drawing time and all.

"No. Just having a conversation was nice. I've been cooped inside too long, it was nice to actually talk to someone. Well other than Wilson or Dakota that is." Since coming back, Wilson was probably the one he had talked to the most. Which wasn't all that surprising, considering it was Wilson's room he was staying in for the time being.
