DarenDaren groaned and rolled out of his couch around ten that morning. He sighed and looked down at his clothes that were damp from the snow. Then he loafed around, exploring what the humans had left behind. He found a work out room. "Well... no use in getting out of shape," He murmured with a lazy shrug. He knelt down and grabbed a couple fifty pound dumbbells. He lifted them with a bit of difficulty for a while until his body fell into the rhythm. "Ah, I missed working out," He said with a relieved sigh. When he realized he was craving some breakfast, he shrugged and left the dumbbells where he had found them before leaving. He was glad it was sunny and not snowing. The snow on the ground seemed to be melting away, too. "Well. This is much better than yesterday," He said with a yawn as he stretched. He strolled into a McDonald's and ordered a bacon-cheese-egg bagel happily. He paid and left, still munching on his food. "Clothes would be a good next step," He noted, nodding to himself. He walked to a small clothing store and looked around. Of course people were staring at him. He still looked like a wounded soldier. Daren learned to ignore the stares he got and began to drift around the store until he found clothes he liked. "And let the after- Christmas sale shopping commence," He said to himself, tapping his foot as he grabbed plenty of jeans. He knew his size. He hadn't changed since he died, after all. he then went to get some more beaters. He loved those things. He also got some t-shirts. Some were plainly colored, some graphic tees, and some were striped. He just basically got a mini wardrobe and a backpack to carry it all. he stopped when he got in line for the register and picked up some mechanical pencils and a sketchpad. He loved drawing. "There," He confirmed as he got into line and placed everything down. When the total rang up, he got out what totaled up to about ninety dollars in cash. "So glad there's a sale on," He huffed, getting a giggle out of the young saleswoman. He nodded goodbye before rushing out to find some where to change. It wasn't hard to find a bathroom in a convenient store. He pulled on a pair of dark gray skinny jeans that had a bit of slack, a red beater, and a black and white and red plaid over shirt. He finished it off with a red "OBEY" hat before neatly folding every into his pack. "Looking pretty good there, Daren," He told himself as he looked into the mirror. He bought a pack of mints and a mini-bottle of mouth wash before "brushing" his teeth. And now, he was free to "coincidentally" run into SaraBelle.

Belle checked her phone for the time as she grocery shopped, knowing she needed to be back home by 11 in order for her day to work out as planned. She needed to run a few errands for the animal shelter she volunteered for, which included doing some paperwork and dropping by the shelter itself, as well as the post office and the pet supply store. She had allotted herself about an hour and a half to get all that done, than she had work starting at 2 PM, until 9PM, when the cafe closed. It was a longer shift than yesterday, which was nice, because she needed the extra hours for money. She had a job being a nanny to twins too, but that was only three days a week, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.
It paid really well, but she needed the waitress job to be able to pay the mortgage on her home and pay of her car, as well as food and such. It wasn't easy, but she always managed to pay the bills. When she finished picking out her food and making sure she hadn't gotten anything she didn't really need, she proceeded to the check-out, paying for everything with her card. She then placed everything in her cart and rolled it out to her car, unlocking her car as she walked towards it. Making sure the cart didn't roll away by balancing it against her hip, she grabbed her bags and placed them in the car, having a bit of trouble balancing everything. She got everything in her car pretty quickly however and put her cart back in the correct place before walking back to her car. Starting up the engine, she drove home, putting all the groceries away after several trips to the car and back to get them all out. She had to step over her sleepy dog who refused to move from in front of the door, but instead of making her mad, it just made her laugh.
Once all the groceries were put away, it was about 11:15 AM and she was glad she was right on schedule. She pulled out the paperwork she needed to do for the shelter and sat at the kitchen table, working on it. By noon, she was finished and she gathered the separate bundles of flyers that were labeled with sticky notes based on where she was going to be dropping them off and shoved them in her purse, noticing Nikki was staring at her. She let Nikita outside while she put her coat and gloves on, planning on walking around and dropping these flyers off. Letting her dog back in, she asked "You wana come girl?" Nikita woofed and wagged her tail happily, which Belle took as a "yes" and she got Nikki's leash out, getting her ready to go. Once they were both ready, Belle and Nikita left the house, walking to the shopping center a few blocks down. She popped her flyers on the stores windowsills, waving and smiling at the owners, who were used to her dropping off flyers. Nikki was very calm and just enjoyed being out on a walk.

DarenDaren was humming to himself when he saw her. He went over to her. "Hey. You're.. um... you're the waitress, right?" He asked, absently looking at the fliers. "Really neat name. Hang on... I'll remember it," He told her, pinching the bridge of his nose. "SaraLee?" He asked. "Nope! SaraBelle?" He asked, smiling that charming smile down at her and hefting his bag on his shoulders. He looked around at the fliers. "Animal shelter?" He asked quietly. Jeez, this girl got better and purer by the day! It pleased him greatly. "So you work insane hours at a cafe... dealing with douchebag after douchebag... and then you volunteer here, huh? Not many people like you anymore," He said thoughtfully. Then Daren noticed the dog. "Wow. She's pretty," He announced. He knelt down and reached a hand out to pet her. "What's her name?" He asked. ((Replies will be short. I'm drawing. >< ))

(( It's alright, Idk how much longer I'll be up anyways. & If I do stay up later, I'll be drawing too hahaha xD ))
Belle wasn't really paying attention to the guy walking towards her, since she was waving at one of the shop owners as she placed fliers in their window. She almost ran straight into him when she turned around to move to the next shop and stopped abruptly, a little caught off guard. Her long blonde hair swished behind her gently as she came to an abrupt stop. "Oh, hi, ya that's me." she said with a smile, collecting herself. It took her a moment to realize who he was, since he was wearing different clothes, but when she did, she said "Oh, you're the guy from the cafe last night, the one from the play." she said with a slight smile, feeling bad that she didn't know his name when he seemed to know her's. She waited with a slight grin on her face as he tried to get her name, she was actually quite surprised when he got it right. She nodded and smiled brightly when he got it right, about to ask him his name when he started talking again, this time about her fliers.
She couldn't help but blush a bit when he mentioned the shelter and how she worked at the cafe and volunteered at the shelter. She wasn't really used to people noticing how much she did in a day, but the funny part was that he didn't even know the half of it. She laughed gently, saying "It's fun for me and someone's gotta help." She grinned a bit when he noticed Nikita, who had been wagging her tail like crazy ever since he had walked up. She was a very well trained dog, but she absolutely lovedddd people. As soon as Daren reached out his hand, Nikki nuzzled it with her nose before pressing her head into his palm, inviting him to pet her. Belle giggled a bit and said "Nikita, or Nikki for short. She seems to like you." She smiled and then, finally getting a chance to ask, said "I never did catch your name at the restaurant the other day...?" She kind of just assumed he'd fill in the blank and watched him with a sweet smile as Nikita nuzzled against his hand.

DarenDaren grinned. "Yeah, that's me. The guy that wound up had you paying for him," He said with a sigh. He made a face and brought his wallet. "My family just sent in some cash," He said with a grin. Then it fell. "But I was evicted from my house. The money came too late," He said with a heavy sigh. Still he pulled out a ten. "There. Money for the meal plus a tip," He announced, making her take it. "You're really a great person, ya know," He said, kicking a clump of snow away from his shoe. "Well, I think it's awesome you wanna help," He said kindly. "Well, hello there, Nikki," Daren said, rubbing her head in a playful manner. "I'm a sucker for big dogs," He confessed. "When I was in the military, because I was at one point... my best friend was a German Shepherd. Guess that's what started it," He said quietly, reaching to scratch the dog's sides. "Oh. Oh my name? My name is Daren," He told her with a grin, looking up at her from his kneeling position.

(( I'm off for the night, g'night! ))
Belle only smiled a little when he said he was the guy that she ended up paying for. He obviously didn't seem to happy about it, but she really hadn't minded. It was like $6, she could afford to spot someone that much and she had no intentions of ever having him pay it back. When he said he was evicted, her smile fell clear off her face however and she gaped for a moment before just string at him with concern in her eyes. This guy was out on the streets now and she couldn't help but feel the need to help. When he pretty much forced her to take the $10, she took it, but didn't pocket it. "I really can't take this, you were just evicted..." she muttered gently, trying to hand him the money back, a sadness in her eyes for his predicament. When he said she was a good person though, she blushed gently again, not able to help it and mumbled a thank you, still kind of holding the money out to him without pushing it on him.
She kind of dropped her hand with the money to the side, not forcing it on him since he obviously didn't want it right now, and watched as he pet Nikita, her tail wagging nonstop. When he moved to pet her sides, she flopped down on the ground and rolled over, wanting him to pet her belly. Belle couldn't help but giggle despite how concerned she was about his predicament and she smiled brightly down at her dog. When he finally introduced himself, she nodded, kind of blurting out "Do you need somewhere to stay?" She realized that might be a bit much for some people and quickly added "I know we just met and all, but I can't just let you live on streets or whatever because you got evicted. I mean, I have a spare room and you could just crash until you get yourself back up on your feet?" She bit her lip after she finished speaking, worry flooding in her eyes as she watched him. She knew this probably wasn't the smartest idea ever - inviting a man she barely knew into her home - but she couldn't help it, she needed to help him.

DarenDaren's hands froze on the dog's stomach. "I can't do that..." He said quietly. "You're really nice, but something tells me if you work as much as you do, you're pretty short on extra cash," He announced. He huffed and fixed the bag on his shoulders. But what else could he do? He couldn't live off of fast food for the rest of eternity.... or without bathing. He sighed heavily and ran a hand down his face. "I have to get a job first thing though. That way I can pay rent to you. I refuse to be a free loader," He said. "And you're keeping the money," He announced, pushing her hand away. He sighed and looked down at Nikki and started to pet her again. "I dunno how I'll get a house anytime soon, though..." He said quietly.

(( Decided to post one more time o.o ))
Belle didn't really quite know how to react to him saying that she was probably short on extra cash because she worked a lot. It was true, but it just seemed like a very forward thing for him to say. But who was she kidding? She'd just invited him to live in her house, and she'd just only learned his name. She didn't know what to say at first, so she watched him react, obviously a little shocked by her offer. Just as she was about to argue her point, he mentioned getting a job and paying her rent and her face lit up and she smiled brightly, practically glowing. She ignored his comment about keeping the money and rocked on her feet a bit, saying "Okay, alright, it's settled then, you can stay with me for a while! I can help you get a job pretty much anywhere around here, 'specially in one of these shops or even at the cafe? Everyone knows me around here, I'm sure I could work something out. I'd just have to clean out the spare room..." She realized she was rambling a bit and settled herself down, standing still again.
Nikita looked up at her with a confused look on her face, obviously noting that her owner was acting a little strange, but didn't get why. She then returned her attention to Daren since he was rubbing her belly, panting happily. When Daren mentioned not being able to get a house anytime soon though, Belle shook her head, saying "That's alright, really, you can stay for as long as you need, it's no bother to me at all, honestly." she said contently, watching him with bright blue eyes. Most people would probably be a bit shocked by how happy she was by the fact she was letting a random stranger live with her, but Belle loved to help people and this guy seemed like a good guy. He was in a charity play when he was on the verge of losing his home, that had to mean he was a good guy! She finally tucked the ten in her back pocket, admitting defeat on that account, but if he did end up living with her, she'd probably find some way to give it back to him or something.

DarenDaren smiled a crooked smile. "You really are too kind," He said, standing up from Nikita's side. "Alright. So... I already have clothes... and the necessities. I'm only asking for food," He said, biting his nails. "I... I didn't really finish that cake yesterday... and all I had this morning was a bagel sandwich from McDonald's. I'm still pretty starved," He admitted. He listened to her offer. "Working in the cafe, huh? I dunno how that would work for me. Some guy snaps at me over spilled water and he'll get an ear full," He said, shrugging a bit. "Got anything for a ex-lieutenant?" He asked, putting his hand on his hip. His face was very soft for someone out of the army, but his eyes held a certain look in them. He had seen people die; he'd been the one to cause some of those deaths; then he died at the enemy's hands. It left a mark on the mind, really. "I could always clean out the spare room for you," He offered, trying to be as helpful as possible. It was clear he was the type to repay her in any way. Daren then smiled and looked at Nikita. "And you and I can play while SaraBelle is away," He confirmed, petting the dog a bit more. He honestly couldn't believe how kind SaraBelle was. It was then that he heard some girls talking about him. He started to think as he looked at them. "I got it," He said, gently taking some of the fliers. "I'm about to help you out," He confirmed kindly before walking over to the girls. They giggled like the ditsy senior girls in high school they were just at him approaching. "Ello, ladies," He said politely. "Listen, puppies are cute right?" He asked. They all nodded. "Kittens are adorable?" He asked, blinking at them with bright eyes. They nodded again. "Alright, so we all agree that these cute animals are usually very sweet, and they deserve homes," He added, tilting his head as they nodded in unison. It was interesting. He wasn't acting vain or conceited. He was being very polite to the girls. "Will you take a flier and spread the word for me?" He asked, poking out his lip. The girls each took a poster, going nuts over how much he loved animals and how pretty his eyes were. "Listen, ladies. You need to focus on school, okay? Don't go scooting around over twenty-one year olds," He said gently. "But seriously, help the animals. They need it," he told them before waving farewell and sending them off. He then went back to SaraBelle. He grinned politely. "Well... I hope that wasn't... wrong," He said, rubbing his chin. "I didn't really take advantage of them. I simply conversed," He said, suddenly seeming to talk to himself. He had helped SaraBelle, but he had also used those girls thinking he was attractive to his advantage.

Belle smiled at him when he said she was too kind, just kind of shrugging her shoulders a bit. When he stood up and stopped petting Nikita, the dog let out a sort of "huff" of disappointment, but then she sat up and simply watched the conversation with her head tilted slightly to the side. Belle nodded when Daren said that he already had clothes and the necessities, but only needed food. "That's not a problem at all, I just went to the store this morning actually." she said with a bright smile, adding "I'm sure we can find you something to eat when we get back to my house, I just have to finish with these fliers first." She listened up when he started to talk about her offer to find him a job, pausing and thinking when he asked if she had anything for an ex-lieutenant. It was hard to picture him in the war and she was very eager to ask him about it, like where he was stationed and such, but she knew some people really never talked about being in the military after they were out, so she wouldn't bring it up. Only if he mentioned it first.
"Hmm, the only thing I can think of is a gym that I used to be a member at, it's about a block that way..." she said, pointing past him before dropping her hand again. She studied him for a moment as if she was trying to gauge how fit he was. "You could probably be a trainer or something there." she said, determining in her head that he definitely looked fit enough to train someone else. She smiled a bit to herself, then grinned when Daren spoke to Nikki, saying they could play when she was gone. Nikita woofed happily at him and her tail wagged a bit faster, glad to see she'd found another playmate. When Daren suddenly said he was going to help her out, Belle cocked her head to the side a bit and was about to ask him how when he took some of her fliers and headed off. She petted Nikki's head as she watched him go off to talk to a group of high school girls that seemed to be falling all over him. She couldn't help but laugh a bit as she watched. He was definitely an attractive guy, but watching those girls practically melt around him was hilarious.
When he returned she was grinning a bit, watching as the group of high school girls moved on their way, giggling and pointing at the fliers. Belle laughed a bit when Daren said he hoped that wasn't wrong, shaking her head a bit. "Nah, that wasn't wrong at all, helped spread the word a little more and how can that hurt?" she said with a slight grin before pulling out her phone to check the time - 12:45 PM. She bit her lip slightly and said "I really need to finish getting these fliers handed out, then I can show you where I live and maybe you can work on the spare bedroom? After some food of course. But I have a few more errands to run before work at 2, so I've gotta keep moving." she said, telling him this as she quickly moved to the others shops in the center, placing all the fliers in the window hurriedly and waving at the shop owners as she went. She finished after another ten minutes or so and then turned to him, saying "Okay, I live just a few blocks over, it's a pretty quick walk." She smiled and started walking home, just assuming he was going to follow along.

DarenDaren looked around. "A gym, huh? Well... I do like working out... and it'd be nice to help others keep or get into shape..." He said thoughtfully when she mentioned he could be a trainer. He walked around with her, occasionally petting Nikita's head. It saddened him that animals didn't get to go to Heaven. Nikita would fit right in. And he couldn't imagine the husky being without her master. He chuckled when he said what he did with the girls wasn't wrong. "Well. I'm glad I could help you out," He told her with a his crooked grin. It fell a bit when she mentioned that she had to keep working. "Hey. You know you're gonna run yourself in the ground like that," He told her. "We weren't even this busy overseas. We went on a mission and went back to base. Granted I'm sure that's... different, but it's the only job I've had to relate to," He said, running a hand through his hair. "But that's not the point," Daren quickly corrected. "Hey. Why don't I just stay with you, and I can pay rent out to you when I get a job. You'll get money and won't have to do so much," He offered, genuinely trying to help her out. "And besides. Today is a weekday. Shouldn't you be in college?" He asked, biting his lip. Was she giving up college to pay bills or something? It upset Daren. Mainly because he stalled his school for the military to get money for it. Anndddd then he died. "How long is your shift at the cafe, anyway?" He asked. It was obvious he was concerned. Yes, it was great she was helping everyone, but with errands and everything.... "Where's the SaraBelle time? Time for you?" He asked aloud.

Belle nodded when Daren talked about working at the gym, glad he liked the idea of it. "Well, I can talk to the owner tomorrow about it if you want." she said happily as they walked back towards her apartment, a bounce in her step as they walked. When he started to talk about how she was going to run herself into the ground, comparing his time in the military to her busy schedule. She was about to say something when he started speaking again, so she wasn't able to defend her busy schedule quite yet. Then he started asking a lot of questions about why she wasn't in college and how long her shift was and that he would help her pay the rent so she didn't have to work so hard. And when he asked when the time for her was, she shook her head a bit, her eyes on the ground as they walked. She wasn't really smiling at the moment and it took her a minute or so to respond.
"I'm fine working this much, really. It's just kind of what's necessary. And I'm taking classes online anyways." she said gently, forcing a small smile as she looked up at him. They reached her front door and she wiggled the key in the lock, opening the door and letting Nikita free to run inside. "I'm working a seven hour shift today, and normally, there isn't much me time." she said with a heavy sigh, letting him in before closing the door behind them. She didn't like being questioned about her schedule because it always led to questions about her past. Putting on her best smile, which took a lot more effort than usual, she turned to face him again, walking past him and walking upstairs, saying gently "Spare room's up here, you can work on cleaning it up if you'd like, I've gotta run over to the shelter real quick and drop off the rest of these fliers and than head to work."
Once she reached the top of the stairs, she walked past her bedroom and stopped at the door next to it, opening it up and pointing inside. It was a decent sized room with a bed and a dresser, but it looked like it was being use for storage currently. "There's a few boxes in a closet, you can pack up stuff in there and leave it in the hall, I can move it to the storeroom in the basement later." she said lightly, finally looking at him again. It was obvious she was affected by him asking her all these questions, but she really needed to get to the shelter so she could go to work, but she didn't want to leave on this note, so she waited for his response.

DarenDaren bit his lip. "Yeah. Well... now I'm determined to make your workload lighter," He told her kindly. "Give you more time for you," He added with a shrug. He listened to her and sighed. "But it is great that you're a hard-worker. It'll pay off in the long run. And... well.... yeah," He said, his voice fading and he frowned. "Must admit that I've been a really big slacker lately..." He said absently. But that wasn't his fault. Things weren't what they were made out to be in Heaven. It wasn't just some lala land, in fact. He had to work more up there, and he didn't like working after he had died. Nope. Daren jerked from his thoughts when she showed him the room and said she had to go back to the shelter. "Yeah, okay. And I'm sorry I'm so forward. It's just a quality I picked up," He informed SaraBelle with a small huff. He looked around the room. "Well. It won't be too bad. Promise not to go through anything," He murmured before going into the room. He needed to stop asking questions. That wasn't what he was there for. He was there to save her life. Still she seemed like the worst choice now that he thought about it. Everyone liked her! Who would try to kill her? No one. Unless one of the... demons... His eyes snapped to her. Nah, he couldn't ask to go with her. He'd seem too clingy and weird. He got the boxes out and sat them on the bed before starting to get to work.

Belle couldn't help but smile genuinely when Daren said he was determined to make her workload lighter. She shouldn't have gotten so worked up about him asking questions, it just made her think about things that she didn't want to think about. "I appreciate that." she said gently, looking at him with soft blue eyes. She was happy he was willing to help and maybe having him here would do more than just good for him, but some good for her as well. Maybe she could actually help her out enough that she could quit one of her jobs and get more sleep, that'd be nice. She shook her head gently when he said he was a slacker, not really feeling like him slacking was why he ended up losing his home. She wouldn't push or ask about it though, so she just let his comment slide.
When he apologized for being so forward, she shook her laugh and laughed gently, her genuine smile returning to her face. "No, it's alright, I just normally don't get questioned about stuff like that. It's fine though." she said genuinely. When he walked in and sat on the bed, starting to get to work, she nodded and said "Okay, thanks for cleaning this up, I've been meaning to get around to it for a while now. And if I could ask you one more favor, Nikki needs dinner at four, I'd usually ask the neighbor to do it, but if you don't mind? The food's in the cabinet next to the refrigerator, two scoops." She smiled brightly at him, assuming he'd be okay with doing that and walked out the door, patting Nikki on the head as the dog bounded past her and into the room Daren was in, landing on the bed next to him in a flying leap. She was happy to have some company during the day.
"I'll see you later Daren!" she called behind as she hurried down the stairs. She grabbed the leftover fliers from earlier and hurried out the front door. She practically ran to the shelter that was only a block over and dropped off the fliers before hurrying off to work. She got there just in time and took off her coat and gloves, dropping her bags and fixing herself up a bit so she looked presentable for work. She tied her long blonde hair up in a ponytail and talked to the other waitress that was on tonight, Katie. She then got to work, helping costumers and such. It was a pretty average night, no problems at least this far.

DarenDaren smiled. "See ya!" He called. He looked over at Nikki. "So, food at four?" He asked, reminding himself. He scratched her head a bit. "Okay. We can play after I clean for mom. How's that sound?" He asked the dog. He then stood and grabbed a few books that were on the ground. There was no bookshelf in the room, so he shrugged and put them neatly in a box. As an ex-soldier, there was no way he'd let anything be out of place. It was a habit. He sighed. "We need... music, Nikki," He muttered. He found a radio and plugged it in. And now the silence was gone. "Perfect~" He murmured to himself, starting to sing as he cleaned. He smiled and wound up filling two boxes with books. He found a sharpie and labeled them before sitting them out of the way in the living room. Daren cleaned until four. "Yoohoo, Nikki!" He called, giving her two scoops of food like he had been told. He also refilled her. He then went back to the spare room and looked around. So the floor was clean. Now he just had to make it more homey. He grabbed some pledge and a couple paper towels before going to dust. Granted it wasn't that bad in the room. He was just a perfectionist. That and he had nothing better to do. He grabbed a vacuum and then finished his duties. He left the radio on, absently singing "Say It Ain't So" by Weezer. He grabbed his sketchpad and started to draw, figuring a break was in order before unpacking his things.
