The act of spinning around like that served two functions - one, Bazzite's beloved and prized buttwings were out of reach for nabbing as a trophy and two, closing the distance between the hair on Bazzite's head and Remarque's bracers married the two in a hellish union of pain and embarrassment. Bazzite was crouched behind Remarque and ready to strike one moment and the next...

"OkayokayokayokayOWOWOWOWOWOWWWWWW!!!!"

Bazzite had found himself utterly fused to Remarque's silver bracers, forced to follow that arm's every movement. The captain wrapped his arms around the offending wrist to try and ease the pain but it was no good. The boy flopped back and forth in an attempt to get himself free. Dirty senshi tricks pulled out at the last second! HAIR-EATING JEWELRY!

Okay—what had—how did—?

Remarque's first instinct was to yank his arm away, regardless of the pain it would cause Bazzite, however in the split second between conceiving the idea and pursuing it, he managed to stop himself. "Hey, stop," he said in a stern voice. "—Don’t' move, just…let me just…"

With is free hand—unfortunately his non-dominant hand—he tried to fuss with Bazzite's hair and pull it out of his bracer.

Except it was a little more stuck than he'd first thought. "Okay just—don't move, hold on. We can figure this out."

Frustrated already, it was hard for Remarque to not just yank his hand away and say screw it to Bazzite's hair, but considering they were friends, he suspected there was some alternative conclusion to be reached. "Just. Okay—you know what? I'm just gonna…power down, all right? Should get rid of this," he finally decided, frustrated with trying to wriggle free without hurting the Captain. He didn't sense anyone in the immediate area, though you never knew who was lurking. "You wanna teleport us somewhere they can't see or are you still learning to do that sorta thing?" he asked, skimming the area just to make sure it was safe.

From his hunched position, Bazzite flailed a little bit. "I've teleported people before! ...once. Okay twice I think, technically. Same person but still. I'll give it a shot!"

The Captain blindly reached out an arm and hooked Remarque by the thigh. In an instant the world spilled into watercolor nausea and the pair reappeared in a dark alley several miles away. It was the only place Bazzite could think of in that instant. He was still fused to the eternal's bracer but at least the pair was cloaked by the cover of darkness. Since the war erupted, even drug dealers were hesitant to use these back alleys for fear of being attacked... or worse.

"You sure you wanna power down in front of me? I mean... I promise I won't tell! Cross my heart and all that."

For the split second Bazzite had his arm hooked around Remarque's thigh, things were awkward. Thankfully, the disorienting affect of the teleportation was enough to distract Remarque from such. He shook his head, trying to dismiss the sensation of fog in his mind and a storm in his stomach. "Bazzite," he said, almost in a tone of reprimand, "I've got Alex in my phone. I'm pretty sure if he can trust you with his identity, I can do the same. Just don't go running around telling anyone anything."

Remarque had never really powered down in front of someone—maybe a few times with Raven, but in public? Or with a Negaverser?

…There was always a time for firsts.

He wasted little time and forced himself to power down—and in doing so, release Bazzite from his bracers. When he was back in his civilian getup, he instinctively brushed down the front of white, button down shirt, of which he had already meticulously rolled up the sleeves. He wore black slacks and overly polished shoes. As concerned as he was with his own appearance however, he at least managed to cast Bazzite a glance. "—That better, or you going to have a bald spot?"

The sudden release of his hair sent Bazzite stumbling forward and onto a trashcan. At the very last second the Captain put up his arms and knocked the metal can over instead of knocking his teeth out. Sputtering, the boy finally righted himself enough to get a good look at Remarque (who had, incidentally, known Alex was Benitoite so clearly he must be a good guy if Alex liked him enough to give up his civilian identity). The man was very well dressed and almost smug looking. Bazzite smiled at him, rubbing the spot where he'd nearly been bald not moments before.

"Nah, no bald spots. Nice duds though!" The Captain gave a huge grin to the blonde. "So... what should I call you when you're like this? Should I power down so you can see me too?"

If they needed to get somewhere else, it was easy enough to power up again and teleport. Bazzite just wasn't sure if he knew Remarque in his civilian form at all. But he could see why Beni liked him so much - Remarque was a snazzy dresser and Beni was nothing if not very classy himself!

"If you want," Jett replied, partially curious to see just who Bazzite was underneath that Negaverse disguise. He wasn't necessarily in any rush to get somewhere else; the alleyway was, thankfully, devoid of both peeping eyes and strange smells, so he certainly wasn't suffering by lingering there.

"Unless you need to be out there training, gathering energy. I'll admit," and he said so with a bit of pride and a bit of resentment, "You did pretty good. Fast," he said, admitting aloud what he'd deduced already. "…I might almost think fast enough to dodge anything a super or squire's got to offer. Maybe even someone stronger."

He wouldn't admit that he was in any way proven wrong, though Bazzite had warranted at least some recognition for exceeding his expectations. It was a fluke that he'd been able to hit him, and while he was going to give himself points for it anyway, Bazzite was probably far better off than he'd first assumed.

Bazzite blushed again under Remarque's praise. He turned away for a moment, scratching the back of his head with embarrassment. "Aww, there you go again..." he mumbled. Sure, he was somewhat used to being praised by Benitoite but he must have done well if someone in another faction was giving him compliments! His training must've been paying off finally.

Whirling around, a cloud of darkness covered the Captain and after a blink or two, a normal-looking teenage boy emerged. Johnny wore a silly ninja-themed hoodie, jeans and running shoes. His blizzard of white-blue hair remained unharmed. Johnny smiled brightly at his blonde counterpart. "Nice ta meetcha! I'm Johnathan Miller but you can call me Johnny. Everybody does."

He held out a hand to Remarque-turned-civilian for a friendly shake.

Jett wasn't sure what he expected—if anything—of Bazzite, but Johnny sort of fit. The ninja-themed hoodie tied enough together and seemed more than fitting; Jett couldn't think of anyone else to be standing in front of him after that reveal.

"Nice to meet you, Johnathan Miller. Jett Draven," he introduced. He extended his hand and, with a firm grip, took Johnny's, shook, and then drew away his hand. "Though, we really ought to get ourselves out of this alley, now. Don't want people to get the wrong opinion of us. Unless you're still raring to go?"

In which case, he wasn't going to hold the guy back; he could just as easily power up now as he could walk home, though now that he was back like this, he was cold and tired and missed bed more than he could admit. Of course, he wasn't going to let Bazzite one-up him; if he was going to stay out, gather energy—do whatever the Negaverse did—you'd better be damn well aware that he wasn't going to call it a night so easily.

"Yeah, you're right." the boy agreed and waltzed up to Jett, hooking an arm in the much bigger man's. "How's about you an' me an' Alex go catch a movie or somethin'? He'll wanna know how I'm gettin' better at this whole fightin' thing. An' you guys dress all fancy dancy like that, no wonder you're buddies! I mean, Alex is a pretty cool guy so why wouldn't you guys be buddies? I dunno. Anyway, do you like action movies? Alex got me this sweeeeeet Bruce Lee DVD box set for Christmas and he says I should make more friends so...!"

Johnny didn't give Jett much time to answer before the happy dragging commenced. "I got popcorn at home an' I cook real good too! What's your favorite food, Jett?" Completely oblivious, Johnny didn't realize he was reenacting exactly what the blonde was probably hoping to avoid - the two of them being thought of as a couple. Or worse.

Usually one hard to faze, Jett was almost completely taken aback by Johnny's eagerness—and ought to have chastised himself for it. If Bazzite was an exuberant, overzealous extrovert, why wouldn't Johnny be, too?

He should have made an effort to protest; by the time words registered in his brain, Johnny had dragged him out into the public eye, and Jett could only be grateful that there wasn't a surplus of people there to see. "Cheeseburgers, but—I don't know, I should probably—Raven and I—" certainly he had an excuse somewhere, didn't he?

"Bruce Lee's not the one from Rush Hour, that's the other one, right?" No, Bruce Lee was that other one—the one in all the old movies. Or the Crow. No, definitely the older movies.

A gust of cold win shook him from any mental puzzles he was trying to solve; the sight of fresh snow falling was enough to make him cave and agree to just about anything. "…How far away do you live?" he finally, only slightly begrudgingly, inquired.
