The moment the key was put into the door, the jingle of a dog's collar seemed to rattle about behind the door.
The moment the door was opened, there was a slightly larger than "medium" sized dog standing there, tailless nub wagging like crazy.
"...I do not believe there should be too much issue... except he's going to..."
The dog jumped up so his forepaws were trying to find a place to rest against Zia's legs.
"...jump..."
The dog let out a content yip, trying to shove his black nose against the girl to get a good sniff in.
The manx, deciding not to interrupt the moment, slipped in underneath the gap between the dog's legs. "...His name is Aque... You can probably nudge him off and then close the door behind you... last thing I need to be accused of is letting the dog run out in the streets..."

"Oh my god," Zia's reaction might've been taken for shock if it wasn't immediately followed by embarrassing gushing and baby talk as she played with Aque's ears. "Oh my god he's so pretty. Who's a pretty boy? Who's so pretty?" And from there it kind of devolved into baby talk. Zia was one of those people, and a pretty dog could downgrade her to a literal, blubbering idiot.
"Yeah, yeah," She said, stopping to roll her eyes at the letting the dog out comment and kicked the door shut behind her. She glanced around the entryway, half waiting for a group of people to prance through screaming about intruders and cop calling and all that good stuff. And it just occurred to her that 'well the talking cat said it was okay' was a terrible legal excuse.

It was fortunate for Zia that ********* knew her girls as well as she did. Nobody was home. Not Ellie, not Ed, and not Kat.
Which was part of the reason why Aque was going nuts since now he had a person-person to give all his attention to. And this person-person knew how to talk to him! Sure, he didn't really understand any of it, but the way she said it was enough to get his whole butt wagging!
********* chuckled and meandered forward, pausing to turn and watch the girl with the other animal in the room. "Goodness, I think he likes you!" Ellie was prone to talking in a similar manner with dogs, though she did learn how to get stern when it was her own pet.
"How about we head to the living room... and then you can keep Aque company and I can wait for Ellie at the door?"

Zia would've been been happy to keep Aque company, but she also thought waiting in the living room while ********* kept a look out for some chick to come home was kind of boring. "Ugh, fine," She wasn't going to turn down a couch, but at the same time.
"They got any food in here?"
Proper guest manners. Zia does not have them.

A pair of green eyes rolled up in thought for a moment before the manx answered honestly.
"If you are looking for home-cooked... then you won't find it here. I am sure they have leftover take-out in the fridge... and they probably have a pile of microwaveable food in the freezer..."
The cat probably was so honest only because she had a tendency to sneak some food whenever she showed up. Though the clear difference of her being merely a cat, and Zia being a lot more than just a cat was not processing at the moment.
Once they had made it into the mess that was called the living room, ********* stopped in place. The tables were covered in piles of magazines and DVDs were stacked up on the floor around the television.
"...Well... make yourself at home for now... I'll be back with Ellie in a bit..." Was it ********* place to welcome someone to stay like it was her own home? No, not really. However, it didn't stop her from being so courteous. With a small bow, she then turned and scampered back to the door, her collar jingling the whole way.

"Whatever," Zia hadn't really registered it was not ********* place to make all these offers. Mostly because she took what she got and then some. Plus, in the back of her subconscious mind, she was sort of imagining ********* as being the boss here.
She raided the fridge with little qualms, grabbing a box of take out and sniffing it, trying to judge how old it was.
"So what's the plan here anyway?" She half shouted to the cat waiting by the door. Pointless question was pointless, but Zia was bored, so she was going to ask even if she already knew the plan because she had just said she was waiting for Ellie.
Zia was so bored.

"Plan?" the feline repeated just as the door opened. She obviously did not have a plan.
"...okay, so someone tell me why my dog ain't 'ere barkin' up a f*ckin' storm?" Straight to the point as ever, Ellie glared at the feline who had blatantly broken in. It was obvious neither of her parents were present, since their of their cars were on the street.
As if she weren't surprised at the timing, the guardian smiled and chuckled a bit. "Oh goodness! I didn't think you'd mind so much, since I had a friend I wanted to introduce you to!"
"....ah sh*t... yer not alone?" Ellie glanced down the hallway suspiciously. It made sense why her dog wasn't at the door now. Someone else had his attention at the moment. With a low grumble, she began to make her way back to the living room.
"...better not be gettin' robbed..."
The manx chuckled again before following the blonde's lead as she tromped through. "Ziiiiiia... you in the kitchen?"

"Ya?" Zia was just exiting the kitchen with a box of col take out she was eating with her fingers and only paused momentarily to glance at Ellie before continuing to walk and flop on the sofa.
For someone so desperate to be 'just human' she was way too used to being a cat, and acceptable cat behavior. "This the one?" She asked *********, meaning the 'big blonde one' she knew the Asteroids' leader as.
