Ami's mouth dropped completely as Lex answered with no shirt on. It certainly wasn't a bad view, but just ... just ...
And then Kat nudged her, causing her to sputter and lapse into nothingness for a moment. She gave Kat a little glare like why are you making me do this?! She would get back at Kat later for this, oh yes she would, but right now there were more pressing matters. Like the fact that Kat was currently rooming with a man who was half-naked. Not okay. Even if it was nice to look at.
"Kat- Kat is moving to my room," she said, blunt and straight to the point. Ami's tone clearly implied that she wasn't taking no for an answer.

Lex's piqued brow expressed his immediate confusion at the behavior of the two women in front of him, before realizing that he was shirtless. Whoops. He knew how much Kat tended to freak out if even his midriff showed for a second while removing a sweater.
"Uh...sure. Just a second, if you please." He requested, shutting the door and throwing a white tee on quickly before opening it again.
He looked at the both of them, smiling lightly. So Kat would be moving in with Ami? Probably for the best to be honest; Kat always seemed to be a bit terse in his room (for obvious reasons).
"So, I guess you're here for her things?"

Ami's look was met with look of innocence when she glared back at her. It was totally cowardly to make Ami do the talking for her, but Lord.. if Ami had seen how she handled things with Lex earlier--it was better this way. Definitely.
Keeping her gaze fixated on the floor for the time being, she leaned back, and began kicking at the ground with the tip of her shoe, pausing for a moment when Ami finally announced why they were here. In all honesty, she didn't want to offend Lex for wanting to move out of his dorm, but something had to give. Things were just way too awkward in there.
As Lex stepped back into the room to grab a shirt, Kat continued her kicking at the ground, stopping again when he came back--thankfully fully dressed this time. Pushing away from the wall, she turned to face them both again, rubbing at her arm lightly. "Er.. yeah. Not that I'm not grateful and all for you letting me stay here, but.."

Ami looked back and forth between the two with an arched eyebrow. Ami wasn't stupid. Something had happened between these two, Kat's awkwardness was proof enough. She couldn't pry though. Kat and Lex's private life was none of her visit. Besides, if she was really curious enough, she could just gossip it out of Kat in the future.
She tapped her foot impatiently, but was rather pleased when he came back with a shirt on. At least he had manners. Kat was skirting around moving out, but Ami got straight to the point."Yes, we are. Where are they?"
Almost as an afterthought, she tacked on, "Oh. And Merry Christmas, Lex." She was smiling and everything. Look at all that friendliness.

Lex gave Kat a friendly shrug and smile. "I understand; it's fine. You'll be more comfortable with Ami, for sure." He put a light hand on her shoulder and gave it a small, reassuring squeeze. Sleeping in Ami's room meant not having to see the guy she'd lost her virginity to in a night of emotion and despair every morning and night, and the ability to get things off her chest. No more shame or embarrassment - it really was the best possible move.
"All of her stuff should be hung up in the closet." Lex answered Ami, moving to open said door to show the few things in Kat's position. Many people had been kind enough to buy replenish the girl's wardrobe; yet it was still probably lackluster compared to what she used to own. He'd probably continue to buy things for her with each of his 'trips back to reality.'
"Merry Christmas to you as well." He smiled back, pulling a candycane out of his pocket. When...?
Madeline.
"Any plans today? Other than moving Kat into your room?"

Okay, well at least that was settled. Still didn't make her feel any better about it, but at least he understood her reasons why.
At the mention of her items being hung up in the closet, Kat leaned a little, as if to look past him to see. Of course, from where she was standing, it was near impossible. "Umm, no plans at the moment, I think.." Looking to Ami, she gave a small shrug. This really was kind of a spur of the moment thing after all.
"Uh, I'll go.. grab my stuff then. I'll just be a sec, you guys just um.. keep talking." Okay. Its not like she would struggle with the amount she had after all. She could probably just stuff it all into a bag if she was able.
Scooting past the two of them, she left them be for the moment, giving them a chance to chat, and catch up.

Ami moved forward to help gather Kat's things, but the red-eyed hunter was already on it. Kat implied that she could get it herself, which in all honesty just made Ami more upset. The fact that Kat had so few belongings ... It was sad.
She sighed and turned to Lex, who seemed to be staring at a candycane. She arched a suspicious eyebrow, but didn't say anything. Lex could find candycanes weird if he wanted. She held her tongue, and her curiosities, guarded as always.
"I suppose we don't have plans," Ami said, repeating what Kat said. Her voice grew quieter, so quiet that only Lex would hear, "I just want to go back to work really- Christmas isn't the same without ..." She blinked a few times and quickly said, "New York." She looked down, and then awkwardly over at Kat. "Do you need help?" Please need help.

"M'kay." was all Kat got from Lex as he turned his attentions to Ami. The Sun was perfectly capable of grabbing all five of the clothing items she had by herself; she was a big girl, after all.
"Ah, right, New York...sorry you're missing it." Lex offered, giving her an empathetic smile. He was missing Vegas right about now too, but probably for different reasons. Ami loved New York and everything there was to it; Lex only loved Vegas for the people who came to visit the city.
"I'm really not doing much today, either. I'm pretty sure the Doctor won't get upset if I take a break for Christmas." He shrugged, smile becoming a bit more lax and light. Maybe he'd do things later that night, what with Madeline's other gift and the candy cane which he had just realized probably implied something. Tricky girl, that one.
"Wait...you're working today?" His smile went flat, as did his expression. No, that was just...not okay. Not okay at all Ami. "That just feels so...wrong."

Picking the clothes off the hangers, Kat set to folding them and stacking atop one another. It didn't take long, given she had so little, but there were still other hunter's clothing she had yet to wash and return. "Erm.." Hopefully the blood would come out of those after having left them there so long. If not, she would owe Gale, Ami and Jake new coats and scarves.
Folding those up as well, she leaned back as Ami called out, answering with a small smile. "Uhhh, no I'm okay. I'll be done in just a moment." Returning to work, she checked inside for any bags to stuff these into, only finding a backpack instead. "Lex, can I borrow this? I'll bring it back after." She asked, holding the backpack for him to view.
As for the whole comment on Ami working on Christmas feeling wrong, she couldn't agree more. "That's why she has been kidnapped from work." She called out, nodding to herself.

Ami cursed internally as Kat denied needing any help. Sometimes she wished things would just go her way. Even worse when Kat explained she'd taken Ami away from work.
"Kidnapped implies I was taken against my will. Ushered is more correct," Ami said politely. True, she wished Kat would've let her be so she could work, but being "kidnapped" wasn't so bad. That, and she was doing a good thing by moving Kat out of Lex's room- or so she convinced herself.
Looking to the hallway, Ami's mind was already churning out scenarios. "Lex would you mind ... escorting us? I'm afraid I'm poor cover compared to you." A 6'4 wall was definitely better than a 5'2 lightweight. "And Kat? You need to talk to Allan by tomorrow. I'll house you for as long as you need, but they'll find you eventually. No matter where you stay."

Lex turned his head towards Kat's direction and gave her a little nod, smiling. "Of course you can; but Ami's right. Talk to Allan tomorrow, he should be able to help." Lex had to agree with Ami; she couldn't stay like this anymore. Hiding in Deus was just a bad idea in general, hiding for Caelius? She was more than likely already caught, and the princess was more than likely plotting the next way to punish the Death huntress.
He smiled a little at the request of being asked to escort them; understanding the obvious reasoning. He was big and well built, they were small and narrow. It would work, flawlessly even.
"I'll escort you, if you spend the day doing something not related to work."

With Ami's correction, Kat snorted, grinning to herself as she continued to fold the clothing. Though, the grin faded shortly after as both mentioned speaking with Allan tomorrow. They were right, she needed to speak with him, but.. "I--what happens after that though? I can't help but feel that it'll go badly." Even if she did speak with Allan, what was to stop Caelius from finishing what he started, or doing something else instead? There was no way he was going to let her off with a slap on the wrist--even if that slap on the wrist was her banishment. Though she would never admit it to any of them, Kat was nervous.
Gawd, she hated this situation.
Escorting and cover.. damn she really did feel like a criminal at this point. Keeping her opinions to herself, she continued to stuff the clothes into the bag with Lex's permission.

Ami's innocent smile dropping as Lex made her promise not to go back to work. That was tricky- yet oddly smart.
For a moment, she just glared at Lex stubbornly, but then she stubbornly admitted defeat. "Fine." The indignant defiance in her eyes was evidence enough for how she really felt.
Turning to Kat, she said, "I can't promise anything, but I doubt it. You survived a ******** banishment without a weapon." Ami blinked, realizing the information might have been confidential, but shook her head. "Why would they drop an able-bodied hunter?" Her voice grew a tad quieter and she added, "Weapon or otherwise."

Lex gave Ami a coy smile and a cocked eyebrow, indicating that he won.
Turning to Kat, Lex nearly put a hand to her shoulder but decided that no - he'd rather not put her under more stress. A gentle smile graced his face as he spoke to Kat in his most comforting voice. "Sunbeam, I'm pretty sure that if they haven't expelled a Hunter for cutting off another Hunter's arm, then they won't drop a Hunter who made it through the Sahara without her weapon and then refused to betray our secrets even after she herself was betrayed." He gave her a little wink, then looked to the door.
"So, shall we go?"

Even if she had survived her banishment, Caelius was something of a different matter. The man specialized in causing others suffering.. As for Ami's question, well.. the death lead had made it quite clear on more than one occasion that each and every one of them were easily replaced at any time. One would have to be, given this job.
Glancing up at Lex, she stuffed the last article of clothing into the bag before dusting herself off and rising to her feet. "There's also a difference between training and purposely attacking.." She took a wild guess that he was referring to the incident with Rep and Rin. Even so, either way..
Loosing a sigh, she slipped the bag over her shoulder and started towards the door. "Fine, fine. But if you're both wrong, I get to do the "I told you so" speech.
...
If I'm still alive." If she wasn't, then, well.. she supposed she could haunt them and do it.
"Right, after you." Adjusting the strap on the bag, Kat gestured for them to go first.
