Then the source of warmth scooted away.
....He stared at her.
Stared down at himself and then back up at her and then he got up and proceeded to then climb stubbornly onto her lap.
No words were said. None.

To say Riyo was perturbed that her bubble wasn't respected might've been an understatement. Not only had he repeated the crime, he climbed up on her lap. Her body tensed, spine straight and fur frizzed out.
That... Didn't happen often. How did she feel about that? Violated? A little. Angry? More than a little. Confused? s**t yes.
It took her a moment to finally speak. "Okay. How about I just go back out and turn into a catcicle. You can stay in here." That was better than having your personal space invaded, wasn't it? The demoness attempted to lift the cat off of her lap and shove him away so she could beeline for the way out.

Somehow as she moved to remove him, he became dead weight.
"No." Was his only response. His nails clasped onto her clothing but not too firmly, he didn't wish to ruin her clothes or to harm her. All he wanted was body heat.
After a few moments he pointed out, "It isn't really that much warmer out there or in here. We're just away from the wind. Warmer this way, yes. I'm not asking you to marry me," he laughed.

"I could kick your a** if I wanted to!" Riyo yelled angrily at his declaration of no. She only fought him a few moments longer before finally letting him drop back onto her lap. The problem was, she didn't want to. Since the snow started falling, she'd felt especially complacent. She actually had to make an effort to be angry.
"You're not asking me anything. Maybe that's the problem." Brooding much? Even if the boil was on her lap, the demoness was determined not to get comfortable. "And it's not like I benefit from you being there."

"I am very sure you could," he yawned back in response and then once she gave up he started to get comfortable. Unlike her, he had no problems with being comfortable.
His ear flicked in response to her broody answer and furthered response, "If you want I can take that other form with the pin and hug you. Then you might benefit more." There was nothing lecherous or dirty in his tone, but there may as well have been.
Akubi wasn't going to respond to the fact that he hadn't asked her permission for any of this. Simply because he was doing what would prolong his own comfort and possibly hers if she learned how to relax a little.

And now it sounded like he was mocking her. Great. Wonderful. This was turning out to be the best day ever. She was losing the fight to a fat cat.
At his suggestion, her face reddened. "NO, no no. No. If you do that, I will scream. Please, refrain from doing that." Suddenly his cat form didn't seem all that bad. At least it was a fatty putatty cat instead of some strange dude sitting on her lap. She supposed that was one blessing from this whole scenario.
Riyo let out a long, exasperated sigh before finally slumping over. She could only keep up sitting straight for so long in this frigid cold, after all. Moreover, clothes only went so far when you were in what was essentially a snow house, so the more scrunched up she was (cat boil in her lap or not) the better off she'd be.

Mocking? Maybe.
Unconcerned? Definitely.
Akubi knew he'd won the fight as soon as her face flushed and not just because of the chill in the air of the igloo. "Yes. I will refrain if only to keep you from screeching," he agreed. As much as he delighted in the screams of tormented souls he didn't wish to be that close to the source of the screams. Feline ears are sensitive.
As Riyo was counting her blessings and slumped over, Akubi remained on her lap as much as he could. His noose jostled and swished about his neck and the shifting the pin he'd temporarily attached to it flop about and brush against his fur. It seemed the pin took that as a sign to activate.
There was twist of bone, stretching of flesh, disappearing fur, and the next thing Riyo knew? On top of her was a humanoid grinning cat-boil.
"...Ah....s**t."

Yes. She thought he'd see it that way. In a small igloo like this, loud sounds could only hurt, and Riyo was fully prepared to hurt even herself if he further invaded her space.
Only momentarily did her eyes close, just to pretend for seconds that instead of being here, she was in her warm, cozy dorm curled up with her plethora of cats.
The sound of crunching caused her ears to stand at attention, red eyes now open and practically bulging. When two and two were put together, and Riyo realized who she was looking at, the color drained from her face. A little trickle of red escaped her nose before her mouth opened to let out a piercing shriek. Closely followed by flailing and a series of "NOPE! NOPE NOPE NOPE! ALL THE NOPE!"

Ears flattened and hands moved to cover his head as he moved to roll off of her, "I DIDN'T MEAN IT ... THIS TIME. REALLY AHHHH."
Any other time he might have done this to screw with her, but this time it was different! Akubi was going to go out of his way to be a good boil because it promised him warmth and protection from the cold!
This is why he could never have nice things.
He sort of curled up next to her to try and protect himself from flailing that might harm him in sensitive areas.

As soon as she had enough mental focus to realize he'd moved, Riyo immediately dove to the other side of the igloo (not that it was that far) and curled into herself. Ears folded back, tail thumping on the ground. The feline looked ready to kill. One hand temporarily left her person, and only to draw a line in the snow. "THIS IS MY SIDE. THAT'S YOUR SIDE. STAY OVER THERE." Her voice might've cracked a little with all that shouting. She didn't seem as angry as she was frightened.

When it was apparent that the family jewels were safe from harm he uncurled just in tile to gaze over at Riyo and watch her draw a line in the snow. His ears stood up now, though he still heard a faint ringing in them thanks to the ruckus.
What she said and what he heard were two different things just then.
*RINGRING* OUR SIDE. *RINGRINGRING* STAY OVER 'ERE.
...This ghoul was strange. Was there something scary and threatening inside the small space of the igloo?
Akubi moved to cross the line and thus closer to her, his expression one of confusion. "Well, okay."

What? WHAT? NO. NO WHAT WAS HE DOING? It appeared that everything she said, this boil was going to do the exact opposite, as if he got some sadistic satisfaction out of literally crossing the line. When he moved across, All the fur on her tail bristled out. What now? WHAT NOW?
Reverse psychology? Reverse psychology! "Yes, PLEASE. Cross the line. I want to be as close to you as physically possible. In fact, I can't STAND when there's an inch separating us!"

She was sort of right.
He was getting satisfaction out of her erratic behavior as if everything was going wrong, even though he wasn't sure what was happening. Akubi paused as he tried to listen to her and the only thing he heard and understood was stand.
"I can't stand! Are you crazy!?" He suddenly retorted. The igloo was tall but not that tall. "I'll hit my head." He flopped to just sit next to her and sat on her tail as consequence.

What? What was he... Was something wrong with his heari- OH JACK.
Riyo let out a loud hiss as her body subconsciously shot up with hopes that she'd pull her tail free... Only to burst through the ceiling of the igloo.
... Ouch.
Tail still fully bristled, it stood straight out behind her.
The ghoul looked... Quite frazzled when she slowly sat back down, lowering her hood so she could gently rub the collision point. Then she held up her hands.
"I give up."

The hissing and the sudden jerk of her standing up made him sort of press more firmly against the wall, his own stub of a tail frizzing out a bit. He stared at her and then up at the hole in the ceiling.
"Now it is going to be colder in here now," he pointed out as he chuckled a bit.
Speaking of cold, parts of his exposed skin was starting to feel the chill. Maybe if he...
Akubi moved to poke at the pin inexpertly and soon the sound of bone and him shrinking down was seen, "I do not see what giving up gets you."
