Black Shot did not mind having the stallion slowing his pace so that she can look around the scenery with awe and curiosity. One day, she would be able to explore the entirety of the isle! Or that was what she hoped.. if Demoni wanted to. Now that she was around him a little longer, she had the time to see the details of his coat, lines being pulled all over. It looked endless to her, just like how she wanted her adventure.
"Well, umm.. I don't really like my sister, Vanya. She keeps saying that I'm too different than everyone else. Like if I'm not careful of what I do." she snorted, rolling her eyes. "I'm careful. I actually watch where I walk," The last part she hinted to him, finding the way that they met quite amusing.

"Too different?" Demoni repeated. "I don't believe there's such a thing. I happen to love uniqueness. It would be so dull if everyone was the same, don't you think?" He glanced at her and laughed at her last comment. "It's a good thing you do, too, because otherwise we might have our faces in the landscape instead of looking around at it," he teased lightly in return. Black Shot was enjoyable company, and her cheekiness was adorable. He definitely found a diamond in the rough with her.

"You should tell Vanya what you told me someday." Black Shot suggested. "But everyone's different. Like how you have four eyes and I have two." Yes, it would have to be his eyes that she prized the most... after him being her first stallion sighted, after all. Catching onto what he added, she wanted to show him that unlike most of the stories that she heard about the south, she was not afraid of it. "One, two, three! Race you to that boulder!" she announced, without giving Demoni much of a head start.
Trotting to her "finish line" she stopped in front of the boulder to wait for Demoni to catch up, but was then stunned. She.. made.. it.. Even passed the borders in one day and was a few quarters from it too. She would have to thank the stallion for this one day. But this did not feel like the warm, loving grove that she was used to. This land was something new to her.

"If she doesn't scold me too much for being different, then I think that can be arranged." Demoni agreed. "Everyone's different, and that's the way it should be. That's what makes us special." He blinked at her sudden declaration of a race. "Wha--Black Shot!" He quickened his pace, but he let her get to the boulder first. It would've been hard to catch up with her completely even if he had used his full speed, and it was foolish to waste his strength now. His attempts to catch his breath were overturned by the laughter that spilled from him. "You... sure know how to... keep me on my toes," he said once he was able to stop. Maybe he'd just keep her. Lord Demoni let the thought roll around in his head. Well, he'd see how things went. If things went well, there wouldn't be a need for a different mare. But if not... he'd cut her loose and let her wander north again.
His wing draped across her back once more. "But please, give me a little more warning next time... The Azrien down here aren't all bloodthirsty like the rumors say, but a few are on the... aggressive side--both stallions and mares." Risking a gentle nudge to her neck, he continued. "Please don't wander too far."

She beamed with pride, having a sense that Demoni was in fact, proud of her. For what though? And why was he so willing to help her cross the border? Something was up, she felt it, even his kindness,.. it felt too good to be true. He was polite to her, so the rest of her doubts began to slip away. "You'll teach me to fight and stuff, like what you do here, right?" she squeaked. "Vanya had told me that mares do not have to fight, but that's probably not true down here..." She nodded, keeping her word of not to wander off, that was, she would if it was for a good cause.

"If you wish," Demoni replied. "Some mares choose to fight and some are forced to learn by their parents so that stallions don't take advantage of them. But if you don't want to, that's alright too." He hesitated before giving her an affectionate nuzzle. "Either way, I'll be here to protect you." He wouldn't let anyone steal her from him.

She raised her brow. Let him protect her, huh? "Oh Demoni, don't you think that I should protect myself though? Think about all those brutes who may as well attack one of us. Am I just to see them blood-shedding with you while I flee or watch?"

"That's why I said, 'If you wish', I'll teach you," Demoni replied calmly. "Some Azrien are unable to fight; it makes them ill to get blood on their hooves. Even down here, such things aren't unheard of." He risked another nuzzle. "I'm saying if you can't or do not wish to learn. I will do everything in my power to keep you safe." Another smile formed on his face. "I doubt such a thing will happen to you, though. You don't seem the type to get queasy easily." Indeed, the fact that she brought up being taught to fight hinted at that. A fighting mistress by his side... that would be an interesting sight to see.

Black Shot snorted at the nuzzle. She did not reject it, but wanted her own space. Queasy,... safe,.. unable to fight,... ill,... blood,... power... What kind of power anyways? Her mind imagined him now as like a great, respected herd leader... did the followers of the Six even have herds? Whatever. The idea pleased her though, seeing Demoni having tons of followers. But would she just merely be a follower? Would there be a day where she would stop following him?
"Thank you." she replied, detecting a hint of irritation from him, not knowing what to say. It was all going to quick for her, could she actually stand seeing blood? Never before had she seen a fight rather than in the fields with her sisters, but that was back when they were foals. Maybe, maybe things would not be so bad here.

Demoni didn't nuzzle her again, respecting the unspoken request for space. His four eyes brimmed with light at her gratitude. How polite. Evil he was, but even he respected good manners. "You're welcome." After a few more steps, he continued. "We can start lessons when we're a little farther south. The Azrien along the border tend to be the most territorial since they're on the front lines." That was very much true; the Six had quite a number of excellent warriors in herds in the northern edges of the their territory. Of course they weren't all there, but many of the ultra-aggressive ones were. It was part of the reason he enjoyed the central region so much. The Azrien lord liked to think of it as the eye of the storm.

"Front lines of what?" she asked, not really getting the inside scoop of the whole situation, while following his stride. All that she knew was that Demoni was going to help protect and teach her to protect herself down here. Never did he say anything about azrein hogging up land. Vanya and her would just always hang around the grove, but never claim it as theirs! But then again, Demoni was a king. Of course there would have to be others after him, and she would have to keep an eye out for them.
It finally clicked to her. The fighting. Him being superior. Blood. He was speaking about warriors. "Ohh... I get what you mean now. Umm.. forget my question."
