"Yes... I wouldn't mind that... Or at least I don't think I would.. but that isn't to say he wouldn't try to pull something else. That is simply the best case scenario and nothing more," the Reaper shrugged before shifting a bit. Shun was silent for a short while, simply taking a few more sips of his tea.

"I think the problem is... I do not mind... that line of work. I would have a great number of resources, and especially an information network. It may help me keep my edge as well... It doesn't bother me if some strangers or enemies have to be hurt in the process. But... it bothers her."

Dragain
"I see... If only the best case scenario could be guaranteed," Lizzy sighed, her frown deepening; she had a feeling that it wasn't going to be that easy for him to leave... Not because that's his family, but mostly because his father probably wouldn't make it easy for him.

"That's because Mitsu is a kind person," She replied with a sheepish smile, "I guess... She doesn't want you to be the source of anyone's pain. When you hurt someone, you're also hurting someone them. You should know this best... She probably doesn't want to inflect that on someone else."

Blade Kuroda
"I'm aware of that. But as I've also told her.. I know I should feel bad about these things... but I just don't. I'm... not like her, or you. Or Xiu. She said she won't try to change the way I think. I think this would be more difficult for the both of us if she was," he murmured under his breath. Even now, the only reason why he was struggling with this was because of how Mitsu felt about it. Not because the line of work was bad or anything like that.

"Che. I shouldn't be bothering you with this.."

Dragain
"I'll try not to try to change you too. It's just really hard for me not to stick myself where I don't belong, or where I'm not welcomed. Sometimes I do it without even realizing I'm doing it, and causing someone else discomfort," Lizzy replied softly, averting her gaze for a moment as she tried not to think too hard about the past; time to move on to the future, right?

"You're not bothering me at all. I mean, I'm glad we can sit down like this and just talk," She replied, managing a weak chuckle, "Maybe you could be an instructor for sparring? Have you ever asked Mitsu what she wanted to do?"

Blade Kuroda
At that, Shun lifted his head a bit, watching Lizzy carefully. He wasn't sure where that had come from. With him, he'd likely let her know straight up if she was digging too deep into his affairs. But for now, he dismissed it and went on to address what she had to say next, along with her suggestion.

"I doubt I would have many students. You can ask Mot about my training regime," he scoffed lightly, then shook his head, "As for Mitsu... she doesn't know what she wants either now. I thought she did at one point but.. things must have changed."

There was a pause, then he narrowed his eye at Lizzy.

"And don't even think about suggesting I offer service to the boogeymen."

Dragain
"Nobody said that training was going to be easy," Lizzy replied, appearing surprised when Mot was brought up; she didn't realize that the cowboil had gone to Shun for training before, "At least the ones who stick around as the ones who are serious about it? Shun's self defense class has a nice ring to it~" She couldn't resist giggling a bit.

"What? I wasn't going to!" She pouted, and then cleared her throat, rubbing the back of her neck, "Maybe... Probably... Alright, fine. I mean, the thought did occur to me - you know how mafias work, you're good in combat, you're pretty smart and level-headed in tough situations... But I thought about your father, and how he wouldn't approve of it, which would mean trouble for you."

Blade Kuroda
Shun merely scoffed as the training idea was spoken of a little more. No. He was sure people would simply see his training as harsh and not much else. Shaking his head again, he eyed Lizzy warily as she said she wasn't going to bring up the boogeymen.

"Given my natural issues with them, I doubt I would be able to work with them without needing to look over my shoulder. Not to mention that yes. I would probably be put on a hit list by Kaitou to make sure I don't ruin things for him. Boogeymen.. while I'm well aware that not all do... should probably care for the general public as well and that is not something in me."

Lizzy just sighed, knowing that Shun was right; although being a Bogeyman would probably be a fresh start for him, she knew that it wasn't something that was entirely possible.

"I'm sure there's something you can do that is relevant to your interests," She muttered, musing out loud, "How about TA to Professor Red? I don't think she'll complain about your training regime."

Shun couldn't help but grimace a little as she made a slight addendum to her suggestion, then shook his head.

"I really don't work with most others all too well. Sure, I can help train a friend, but to actually take on students is a completely different matter. There really isn't too much else for someone like me."

"Shun. When you first came to school, you were convinced that you could never be a friend to someone, and nobody would ever like you enough to take you on as a friend," Lizzy replied with a smile, "As much as Mitsu or me or Xiu will try not to change you, people change on their own. Sometimes, it's the circumstances they were put in, and sometimes it's the people around them... So why don't you give other things a try? Maybe you'll never be an easy person to get along with, but I'm sure that someplace out there needs someone like you."

"We'll see about that.."

Shun finally reached over and took a piece of mochi, taking a small bite of it. He wasn't entirely convinced still. And he had to wonder if a part of him really did want to stay in this line of business. He wasn't even really sure. Things were never really about what he wanted when he grew up. And even now, he still had some trouble deciphering how he felt about certain things.

"Just give it a try," Lizzy urged, even going as far as to give his arm a nudge, "You can't discover your interests until you do it. I mean, if I had never tried to cook, I wouldn't realize that I was horrible at it, and if I didn't try stitching pieces of cloth together when I was younger, I wouldn't have realized that I wanted to do it for the rest of my life."

At that, Shun merely sighed. It was one thing to enjoy something, but it was another to be good at it. He just sort of slowly shook his head. The future was such a clouded mess right now. Things were always more simpler before he came to this school. But... at the same time he knew that wasn't necessarily better.

"Hopefully... I don't end up hurting her in the process... no matter what.."

"If the two of you continue to be honest with each other, I don't think that'll happen," Lizzy replied, sliding over to Shun in order to pat him on his head, "Do you think Mitsu will enjoy tea and mochi? Maybe you can take some back for her."

She might had gone overboard, and prepared more than necessary of everything.

Shun hoped that was all that was needed. Being honest with Mitsu was not hard, especially since he wasn't very inclined to lie anyway. That was, unless it was about her baking. That was different ok.

"She likes tea and she does enjoy sweet things. I can take some back if you do not mind relinquishing some of it," he said while nodding lightly.

"Of course I don't mind!" Lizzy nodded, getting up from the couch. Grabbing the plate with the remaining mochi on it, she then proceeded to pack them into a small lunchbox. The remaining tea - still steaming, although obviously not as hot as before - was poured into a thermos. Both items were then put into a small bag.

"Drink the tea while it's warm, and it won't taste good," She smiled sheepishly, handing the bag over to Shun.

"You don't need to tell me that," Shun said quietly as he sipped at his tea some more. He knew how to handle his tea well enough. When he was finished with that, he carefully took the bag Lizzy offered and nodded to her.

"Thank you though."

He paused for the moment, thinking a little more about everything.

"What... do you think about the future as a whole?"
PostPosted: Fri Dec 28, 2012 9:13 pm

"Me?" Lizzy paused, pursing her lips; to be honest, she hadn't given it that much thought before. Well, she did, in the past, but things had changed... Maybe parts of her plan for the future could still be used, but a huge part of it would have to be discarded.

"I think it is hard to predict what will happen, but the things you do now will affect your life in the future? I mean... I want everyone to be happy, but I guess it's not always possible?" She sighed, shrugging before flashing Shun a sheepish smile, "At least it's not bleak?"

To that, Shun nodded silently. It was reasonable enough. The future was something that was so uncertain. It would certainly be nice if everyone ended happy, but he had his doubts that would be completely possible. Too many things will happen.

"True. As things are, they certainly aren't bleak... It could go either way."

"I'm sure it'll be fine," Lizzy nodded, patting him on his forehead, "I mean, we made it this far! We all have to keep moving forward, right?"

There was the patting again. Shun still didn't quite get that. But he just sort of shrugged it off.

"Indeed. With luck... nothing will happen that would make you regret knowing me. Or anything along those lines."
