Cotton's reaction to the word date had Cupcake's stomach sinking rapidly. It was as if her words were the iceberg, and he were the Titanic, and his good mood, and hopes were splintering, and rapidly sinking into the icy depths of rejection. Man this sucked!
"Uhm...yes I said date. Is...is that a problem?" why yes, the sudden uncertainty in his voice, those long ears drooping slightly as he awaited what he was certain was going to be absolute rejection. He gave a mental sigh, appetite suddenly gone. He should have known he wouldn't stand a chance with a girl as phenomenal as Cotton Candy.

"Oh? A problem?" Her straight face started to turn into a broad smile. "Oh no, no, no! There's no problem at all! I'd love to be your girlfriend!" She gave an excited squeal of glee. "No one's ever asked me out before! I'm so happy it's someone sweet and handsome!" She tapped her feet rapidly on the floor, unable to keep her happiness inside. The gem on her tail flashed all the colors of the rainbow and her cheeks blushed heavily.
Once she settled down, she fanned herself with a hand. "Oh, but why go out with me?" Not to say she wasn't grateful, she was just really surprised Cupcake would want to go out with someone like her.

Her 'Oh no, no, no!' had him relaxing so much. Her further exclamation of 'I'd love to be your girlfriend!' had him breaking into a grin. Hey it wasn't exactly what he'd asked...he'd planned on that after the date but now wasn't so bad!
He was blushing as she called him sweet and handsome, and her hand was brought up to his lips and he pressed a soft kiss to the back of it, her question making him smile softly his words sincere. "Because ever since we first met, I haven't been able to get you out of my mind. I've been entranced with you from the start. You're so absolutely sweet, and beautiful, who wouldn't want to go out with you?" well it was true as far as he was concerned!

"Ohhh..." Cotton looked away, the blush deepening, her free hand brought up to her cheek. "You are too kind, Cupcake." Her head wings faltered a little, she was was suddenly embarrassed by the attention, which was odd, given her profession. Maybe because he saw her as a beautiful woman rather than an object. Sometimes that's all she felt like as a model, especially one that had a disability.

Cupcake thought she was the absolutely sweetest thing ever, and her reaction to all of this was just endearing. His lips brushed over her fingers again before he was gently setting her hand down. "You should eat before your food gets cold."
He patted the top of her hand gently, and he dug into his own food, his appetite had returned, and with gusto! Though after a few moments he looked thoughtful. "So, I'm thinking I don't own anything right to wear to Haunter's Curse. But, I wanted to make sure I don't embarrass you by wearing the wrong thing. I know they're sort of a metal band and all...so I'm thinking I need to go shopping in the next day or two, to get something that's not...well not jeans and baggy shirts."
A soft laugh given. He would have stuck out like a sore thumb going dressed as he was! "Something tells me you'll look amazing no matter what you wore though, even if it was just an old sack you accessorized. Your beauty outshines anything you wear anyhow." he was just speaking the truth as he saw it really.

"Oh, yeah." She hadn't even realized the waitress had brought her food and ate greedily. She was so hungry; the agency never had anything good to eat. As Cupcake ate his food, she munched on hers, silence ensuing for the time being.
She was just finishing up her shake when the Eevee teen began talking of clothes to wear to the concert. As she thought about it, she didn't really having anything to wear either. She normally wore bright, cheery clothing, nothing fitting of a concert like this. A chuckle escaped her when her companion mentioned the sack. "Oh, I dunno about that... Maybe if it was a pretty sack, like one from Veronica's Mystery. But that does make me think, I do need to go clothes shopping."
"Oh, um, what time's the concert?"

He liked that she had a healthy appetite he'd seen so many other girls picking at their food, and starving themselves and for what? Oh no this was MUCH better in his opinion and he ate with just as much gusto as she was.
"Veronica's Mystery does have some nice sacks." he laughed softly as he said that. He'd seen a few in his wanderings.
"It starts at eight. I thought I would pick you up at say six, give us time to eat and get to the concert before hand." he had to collect his tickets from the box office anyhow, so it would take a few minutes.
"Oh! Before I forget, I have a pair of VIP Backstage passes to meet the band too." he'd totally spaced on that! "Sounds like we both have a shopping day ahead of us." he gave a low chuckle and pushed his empty things aside.

Cotton smiled sweetly, "Oh, that sounds great! Nowhere fancy now for dinner!" She giggled while wagging and accusatory finger at him. "I won't accept you out-shine my generosity from today! Although, with your gift and the concert tickets..." she motioned to balloon and gave a short shrug with her head wings. "I think you've actually already beaten me. I'll have to get you something at the concert." She winked and stuck out her tongue.
"Oh my gosh!" she squealed, nearly jumping out of her seat. "How'd you get those?!

There was a soft laugh then and a shrug."I'll make a reservation somewhere once I get home. I may have to ask Kelsie for a suggestion, not real familiar with places to go eat." at least he was honest.
"Well my tickets, I won them all in a contest. Two front row tickets plus the VIP back stage passes and all...plus a ride to and from the concert." he was thrilled by her enthusiasm though, she was so darn cute!
"Having you with me there at the concert is already more than anyone could ask for, and your lovely presence is definitely the only gift I need. So no need to get me anything at the concert. I have all I need right here with me now."

"Oh, well, if you need me to, I can make the reservations, since you gave me a time." She was trying to be helpful, since she'd lived in or near the city for as long as she could remember.
"Oh! Neat! I've never won anything!" She thought a moment. "Oh, unless you count my modeling job. There were a bunch of people trying out for it and only a few were selected. But, I don' really know if you count that as winning."
She blushed again, "Oh, you're too sweet, Cupcake, you really are. I think you're the sweetest person I've ever met!"

"You can do that if you want, I don't mind. Just remember dinner is on me." a grin given as he said that. He truly didn't mind if she picked somewhere she either liked to go, or had been wanting to go. It would work out for the best, and help him learn a little more about her tastes in the end.
"It was a first for me, unless you count some battles...but that's different." much different in fact. He had his chin resting on his palm, watching her with rapt fascination, ears perking. "You won your modeling job? That's awesome! Someone has some excellent taste when it came to hiring you." he was totally sincere as he spoke.
Now it was his turn to blush, and he gave a soft laugh. "I'm glad you think so. I've never done this whole dating anyone thing....you're the only girl I've ever liked. So I'm just behaving naturally."

"Oh, I don't mind!" she smiled and gave a happy giggle of sorts.
She listened happily and intently as he talked. "Oh, I don't think I could ever battle anyone! Just the thought of hurting someone?" She shuddered, thinking about it.
Her eyes went wide as he told her she was the only girl he'd ever liked. "Oh.... really?" she squeaked and blushed.

"Well, I haven't battled since I've changed like this, but I still have the skills, and I still train every day, just because I never know when the need will come up to be able to defend myself, or someone else and I don't want to be caught unable to do either." There was a calm seriousness to him as he spoke, a smile to his lips. It was true, that's how he felt. He still pushed himself in what he did daily, to grow stronger.
At her squeak he couldn't help but laugh and he gave a wink and a nod. "It's true, you're the only one I've ever liked. I like to think you set the bar for my standards, and none but the very best will do for me." at that point the checks came for their orders, and Cupcake smiled. "You're sure I can't convince you to let me pay for the meals Cotton dear?"

Cotton wished she could say the same about Cupcake, but she'd had several crushes in her life (none of which amounted to anything, really). But she was already much happier with him than with any crush she ever had... granted none of her crushes were more than he liking a famous singer or actor because of what they sounded like. She had to rely on Tulip to tell her what they looked like, and Tulip's opinions were a bit skewed.
"Oh no you don't," she wagged her finger. "I already said I was going to get this." She giggled and pulled out her plastic, placing it on the bill which was promptly picked up. When it was returned, the Flaffbat looked a little concerned. It was always difficult for her to find where she was supposed to put her signature and the tip amount. She couldn't see anything, and her echolocation only gave her object outlines and depth perception, neither of which were helpful right now. She frowned and spoke in a hushed tone, "Oh, Cupcake, could... could you help me sign this?" She hoped this wouldn't put a damper on his feelings for her.

Cupcake had thought that there were some cute actresses and all, but none of them held a candle to how he felt about Cotton. It was enough to at times make Kelsie go 'Ewww' when he started in raving about her. And to remind him he'd only met her the once, and that for all he knew, she had a boyfriend already.
The concerned look when everything came back worried him, and he'd already shifted to ask what was wrong when she asked for his help. He'd realized as a Pokemon she didn't see with her eyes, and he knew how bats worked (he'd studied up on them!), so it was no surprise she couldn't sign.
"Of course I'll help." and he shifted then and his hand curled over hers then, and he set her hand on the proper spot. "Sign right here beautiful, then I'll walk you out." there was nothing but tenderness in his voice.
