Grabbing the cup of tea carefully, so as not to burn herself, Eir nodded. "How could I forget such lovely music?" The music that night certainly helped her aching and wounded heart. She knew there was no way she could ever repay him for that help.

((That sounds like fun. 8D))

(( In that case... cool ))

Yvar smiled, sipping some of his own tea. "Music is a powerful thing..." He put it down, however, when he heard a sudden thump at the front door. He left the kitchen to answer it, his chuckle echoing down the hallway. The elf returned with an amused smile on his face. "It seems there's a visitor here for you, Miss Eir."

Mico stood with his head sticking through the doorway, staring down the hallway expectantly. He shuffled in place, hoping that the source of this tugging in his heart really was Yvar's guest. He helped the farmer out once, but elected to stay at the farm and continue his assistance when he had the strong feeling that he'd meet someone important here. He didn't usually get so excited, but this wasn't something he could keep his composure over. Maybe this traveler was the one...

A visitor? For her? But, how would anyone know she was here? And it's not like it could be her beloved Aurori, because he was no longer in this existence. Curious, she quietly made her way past the farmer, and to the door.

Eir gasped quietly as she saw the head poking through the doorway. She hadn't had any close encounters with any of the four-legged beings since Aurori was killed. And this quite surprised her, especially since the farmer said it was for her. "Um...hi?" she waved her hand nervously, unsure of what to do now.

"Hi," Mico greeted. He timidly stepped inside, stretching his head towards her. Yes, this girl... she was the one he was waiting for. He could feel his heart tugging him towards her.

"This is Mico." Yvar leaned against the wall behind Eir. "He's been waiting for an important person here. I guess that person was you."

Waiting for her? But, why? Eir stared in disbelief at the farmer, before she looked back at Mico. "Why, am I an important person?" She still wasn't sure what to do, as a part of her wanted to do nothing more than flee to the other room to keep the tears from falling. It would be obvious to anyone paying attention that she was starting to panic.

"Yes," Mico replied automatically. "I don't know why yet, but you are." Yvar walked over to the elf, wrapping an arm around her shoulders and gently hugging her to his side. He didn't mean any offense by it; it was an instinctive motion to Eir's obvious need for reassurance. She knew why; the fact that she was panicking said as much. But if he could help her calm down, maybe Mico could help mend her heart the way he wasn't able to...

The elf turned and buried her head in his shoulder, trying to hide the tears that were now flowing freely. "Why me? I'm supposed to be alone the rest of my life." she mumbled and hiccuped into his shoulder. Eir wasn't sure of what to do. So many conflicting thoughts were going through her head.

Yvar held her close and let her sob against him. "Eir," he said softly. "There is no such thing as a person who's supposed to be alone." He removed one arm from her, gently tipping her chin up so she was looking up at him. "Please do not let your pain convince you otherwise. You are not meant to be alone."

She blinked a few tears away as she looked at Yvar. "How am I not meant to be alone? Being alone means there's no chance I can fail anyone else. Not hurting them." Eir paused a moment, and with a very quiet whisper, "If I'm alone, I can't feel responsible for another's death."

She pulled away from Yvar and wrapped her arms around herself, trying to just shut her mind down. It was the first time she had fully confessed that, and now she was feeling panicky and wanted to run out that door. Now the kind farmer would really know who she was, and just want her gone. Why would anyone want her, who was responsible for another's death, to stay?

"... If you are alone, you're hurting yourself." Yvar frowned at Eir's attempts to withdraw, sighing. "I am sorry, Miss Eir. As an ex-army medic, I cannot accept that answer." His large, gnarled hands quivered where his voice did not. He didn't like bringing that part of his past up. The farmer didn't want to be reminded of the countless lives that slipped away from underneath his fingers. But it had to be done. Eir had to understand... he couldn't allow her to become like him. "The only thing that will come of being alone... is being crushed by the burdens you carry."

Mico shrank back, unsure of what to do. This was clearly the woman he was supposed to Bond with, but she wasn't accepting it. Was he... going to be rejected?

Ex-army medic? Eir looked at him, and studied his features through her teared up eyes. She had never lost a life yet since she started practicing with healing. So she had not the experiences in life that this farmer had. With the death of Aurori, it was a huge shock to her, being the first death she experienced on top of it being someone she was bonded with.

Looking back towards Mico, and then back to Yvar, she squeezed her arms even harder around herself. Her head lowered, and eyes closed, and she started to openly cry. Would she be abandoning Aurori if she tried to be happy again? What if bad things happened again and she went through this again? Eir was scared, and had no idea of what she should do or think.

Yvar didn't say a word as he slung his arm across her shoulders and gently pulled her close. The other arm stayed at his side; he didn't want Eir to feel trapped. He didn't say it, but this was nerve-racking for him. Farming and patching up wounds were what he was used to; giving advice to a broken-hearted young lady was uncharted waters. Even so, he wanted to do everything he could to help her.

Mico timidly stepped forward, lightly nudging her cheek to wipe away some of the tears. How was Yvar so calm? Mico felt like his poor heart would break just watching her fall apart...

Eir flinched slightly when Mico touched her cheek, but she didn't pull away. Was she ready? Could she handle this? What if she couldn't? Oh! she was so confused!

"Why is it, leaving my family was so easy? I left them without a second thought, and yet, one death leaves me shattered?" She questioned into his shoulder, not quite ready to pull away just yet.

Yvar didn't have to think long on the question; it was one he'd thought of quite a bit. "You don't choose family. Family ties are different than friendships. Also... if you did not have good ties with them, for whatever reason, then leaving them would be easier." Deep red eyes gazed down at the young lady in his hold. "Those bonds were not broken through death; they were cast aside by choice. I'm sure... that the memories of the one you lost were more dear to you. The closer to oneself a friend is, the more painful it is when they are gone."

Mico took a step back, allowing Eir to hide herself against Yvar. He would wait until she was calm... she didn't want to make her flinch again.

Looking up at the farmer, Eir gave a small smile. "Thank you. I know even from the very first time we've talked, I haven't been the easiest to deal with." She had listened to his words, and thought about them. Maybe...maybe trying again wouldn't be bad. She was still scared, but she wouldn't be able to get over it unless she tried.

Glancing over towards Mico, she gave him a small tear-stained smile before looking back at Yvar. "I'm still really scared about this though. Will you...will you help me?"
