N'ymi wasn't the only one to shoot Kaeyne a dirty look as Hekate too narrowed her eyes at the offending candidate before turning back to Kleos at her request. "It's made up of one big cavern with a number of small caverns running off it, but like I said only one entrance and only one exit. My father, a small trader and myself took shelter here once when I was a little child, but I thought the entrance had long since collapsed completely." Hekate explained, but ignored Kleos's quip about digging a tunnel. At least N'ymi had stood by her and Hekate gave the girl a grateful nod for that.

"That wasn't really what I had in mind. Because there's only one exit and only one entrance there's no where for them to run. What I was going to suggest is if we started a large smokey fire and had our dragons fan the smoke inside with their wings we could force them out. The eggs don't need to see or breath, but humans and dragon's do." She added with a shrug, but drew her own knife and readied to follow Kleos into the cave after the stupid boy who'd insulted her then whom had just charged right on in.

"Unless it's very small in there a fire we could build in the entrance wouldn't work as you suggest," Kleos replied with a shake of her head as she moved forward. They didn't have time for that either anyway; Trine's wood wasn't exactly dry and they would have to take the time to-

Kaeyne stopped in the cave mouth.

Kaeyne swung his branch upward at a woman springing forward with a knife.

Kleos gripped her own knife harder and rushed forward with it raised, poised to stab or slash. "Ambush!"

"Well it might at least allow torches but unless it's caved in some in there in the past six or seven years it should still be pretty big, but~" However before either of them could finish discussing ideas as they approached the cave Kaeyne came under attack.

"Son of a tunnelsnake!" Hekate cursed flanking Kleos in case another one of their ambushers popped out and decided to take a swing at the wingleader's unprotected back. Was the boy just suicidal or straight up stupid? Either way for all his mocking words he'd proven to not be the brightest glow in this basket.

Mine! Devith called out in surprise and worry pressing himself against the side of the cave entrance ready to reach out and fend of any draconic attacks from the inside with his claws a bites until the others could get in there. Moraith? Do you think you can fit if the two-leggers move from the entrance? If so I will keep it clear. The silver asked glancing over at the scarred crimson even as his rider moved with Kleos to try and force the attacker off one of the candidates.

Ja'kki took the club to her midsection with an "ooph!" the muscular candidate's force sent the slight rider tumbling backwards, breath stunned. She hadn't seen the branch in his hands. Fine. He could have first hit. Ja'kki couldn't be taken down that easily.

Emerath's normally delicate voice raised in a roar as her rider was attacked. The sound echoed within the cave, making it sound fiercer than the frightened cry that it was.

Ja'kki rolled to her feet and darted towards him again, slashing with her knife and keeping an eye on that branch. Any outside commotion was tuned out as she now had her opponent.

Lukily, ducking and swinging up only proved he had the sense to not be dying. Jumping away from an attacker he could not see entirely made it horribly difficult to tell if one could actually make it without being gutted as if one were a fish and, hey, he had a huge stick that apparently made some sort of contact.

He scrambled up to his feet when he heard her stumble back, not stupid enough to remain down when given the chance to stand or see. He bared his teeth in a snarl, already stepping away, but Ja'kki, now visible if only for the flash of her knife in the darkness, proved to be much too quick for him. Kaeyne swung, only to catch the tip and edge of her blade to his shoulder.

Ow.

Being a small blade kept it from tearing through muscle or crippling him, though the shock had the hand dropping the stick, although the other held tight. Swinging wouldn't be prudent. He kicked out towards the person with the knife that just cut his shaffing arm, and snarled.

"You're wasting time," He taunted, teeth bared behind his harsh breathing. "Bring it."

While Ja'kki was fighting it out with Kaeyne, Merrell stepped forward from the darkness to engage Kleos. She knew that her opponents probably had better numbers, the best they could do would be to keep as many of them from getting into the cave as possible. Merrell figured that fighting near the entrance might just do the trick. She didn't particularly want to kill or even really maim anyone, she just wanted them to Go Away. The arrogant ninnies didn't even know what their elitist lifestyle was stealing from them.

Coming in low, Merrell ducked under Kleos' knife and attempted to slash at the woman's legs.

Daroth moved towards the cave to prevent the traitors from escaping. Cursing, N'ymi had moved to Kleos' left and as such saw when Merrell came out swinging. The sturdy girl took a few steps back so that they wouldn't be crowded. Whistling, she called her green Camm into the fight. "C'mon Camm! Attack! Scratch an' bite! Go fer the head!"

Immediately, a rather plain green flit appeared above the head of the person attacking Kleos and dove, claws out.

```````````````````````````
Kharmeen had gone to the side with Hekate and Kaeyne. He shuddered at the cry of a dragon in the caves. Maybe if he could slip past the fighters, he would be able to go in and find the eggs. Taking up a rock large enough to do damage but small enough to carry, Kharmeen skirted around Kaeyne and the person he was fighting with to try and make it into the caves. He cursed, wishing he had a flit or canine with him to make the task easier.
Kharmeen thought about shouting to the others but he didn't want to distract the fighters or draw attention to himself. Closer and closer he go the the entrance.
Ja'kki wasn't very tactical when it came to fighting. She tended to throw herself at her opponent with everything she had until someone was defeated...and even then it was hard for her to quit.
She managed to avoid the second swing just barely, and her aim was thrown off, only glancing off Kaeyne's shoulder. A shrill shriek escaped her as the kick caught her legs and sent her to the ground. The hard packed earth was not a comfortable place to land but it was still a hair better than the solid stone floors of Malvren.
Ja'kki managed to keep a hold of her knife and thrust it up from her lowered position, aiming for his thigh. ~ Emerath! Don't let them get in! We must protect those eggs!~
"It's your life that's wasted! I, at least, will make you a pretty ornament for my belt!"
Emerath didn't want to fight again! But her's was being attacked and there were dragons crowding the cave and the eggs! The small green leaped from her position behind the fighters and her careful aim launched her over the larger colors heads and into the air outside the cave. As she passed she raked her claws at whatever hide she could reach. She roared a challenge.
know there are enemies within would be beyond foolish.> Moriath replied sharply to Devith, displeased by the young male’s presumption as much as his unwise suggestion. Did he really believe if she had wished to go into the cave she would not have done so without a need for prompting? Did he really think it was a good idea to put herself in a position where she couldn’t manoeuvre easily? She would have been easy prey for any dragon, wher, or indeed armed human that could be lurking just out of sight.
she added with a growl, eyes blazing orange, fixed on the cave mouth. Even as she spoke she heard a roar, and bellowed her reply. <Come out and face us, thieves!>
Come out and face them indeed; as Moriath cried that challenge to all the dragons in the vicinity another revolutionary charged out of the cave mouth at Kleos. The woman was quick, and as time seemed to slow down for her Kleos noticed in an oddly detached way that she was very pretty too.
She also had a knife that she seemed very intent on using.
Kleos sprang backwards but wasn’t fast enough to escape the kiss of the blade entirely. With no time to stop and see how bad the wound to her thigh was she riposted with a slash of her own dagger at the red-haired woman’s lovely face.
Dropping the glow he had been holding Ice gave a squeal of panic and launched himself at the unfamiliar human’s head. His attack was probably about as effective as an assault by a small kitten but he did his best regardless; he would rather die than see his human hurt!
Moriath abruptly had her own problems; a small green shot over her head with near unbelievable agility and accuracy and raked its claws down her back as it passed. Snarling in pain and fury the powerful crimson twisted her head around and flamed at the smaller dragon; like her rider she had come prepared this time. No more mistakes; this time she would succeed in her mission.
...Had she been trying to get into the cave that quick little green could quite easily have gone for her throat or eyes. Had the silver known that? Intended that? One to watch, indeed.
Perhaps if you'd bothered to tell any of that we'd know, but forgive me for being polite enough to actually ask. Devith growled more then shocked that that the crimson was choosing to verbally attack allies as well as taunting enemies.
However despite his dislike of the crimson that didn't stop Devith from launching himself up to slash at the green blurr that leaped to attack Moraith aiming to take the other dragon off guard while the green had been so intent on her target.
Watch out there are still humans out here! I said I would help hold the entrance. Whether you intend to go in or out or not the traitors will taste my claws if they dare poke their heads out. Devith snarled in warning ready to rip the green to ribbons should she try to vault back into the mouth of the cave. Swinging his head around he looked for any stray candidates spotting one to the side who'd had the common sense to get out of the crimsons firing range. Whirling on them Devith hissed a harsh warning.
Move! I do not wish you hurt!
While the crimson may have forgotten the presence of candidates Devith had not and Hekate would never forgive him if he let one get hurt or caught up between two fighting dragons.
Kleos had her hand's full as a second traitor leaped at her leaving Hekate to dodge around. While she wasn't exactly fond of Kaeyne she also wasn't a cold blooded murderer to leave a sharding candidate to fight alone. Picking up her pace she followed the two's voices aiming from the side with a burst of speed to try and tackle Ja'kki to the ground and away from the injured candidate. "What a coward attacking a candidate! Of course that's expected from a murdering traitor like yourself to always target the weak. How about you try someone a bit longer in the tooth and claw like myself!" Hekate hissed in fury Devith's anger and her own mingling at the sight of this egg thief who was all too willing to kill a candidate equipped with nothing, but a branch.
"Sharding thrice blown between!" Meroc gasped calling his bronze lizard Havoc back close to himself as he dashed to the side of the clearing and away from the three very angry dragon's going at it. He certainly didn't need the voice of the silver dragon in his head to tell him twice to move his sharding behind out of the way! Hell if it was this dangerous out here he didn't even want to think about how bad it might be inside! On his shoulder Harlot was practically screeching her own startled rage at the events her tail wrapped tight enough to almost choke Meroc as she peeped and screamed her anger! How dare they! Couldn't they see hers was right here! Hey watch it you over grown firelizards!
Himself, Kaeyne had no worry over being crushed by dragons. He had no fear of the Impressed ones - they couldn't hurt humans and thus he paid them no mind. No, he had more pressing worries in the form of the girl launching herself at him again.
The nineteen year old Candidate grinned in something more akin to a snarl and almost missed that knife being shoved up at him. He let out a rather loud yelp, stumbled back and straight onto his a**. Kaeyne hissed once he landed, leg jerking out to send out some sand.
Wait.
Sand.
"Glad to know you think I'm pretty, crackdust sniffing wherson!" Kaeyne grabbed a handful of sand in his writing hand and hurled it at her, aiming for her face, and did not feel the cut on his thigh, bleeding through the cloth.
Then suddenly silver rider.
"Are you high?" He shrieked. "You're high, I'm twice your size, you crazy woman!"
Moriath snarled at the adolescent dragon. Dragons!->
Whatever Moriath had been about to escape was cut off as the crimson felt it.
It resonated deep within her, and would be touching the thoughts of all the other dragons in the area too.
It was time.
The eggs were hatching.
<Candidates, draw together and enter the cave!> Moriath bellowed, addressing all present allies directly. find those eggs!
I will give you what protection I can; engage the enemy only if you have no choice. Dragons will remain outside to guard the entrance and keep watch; notify me if you see anything out of the ordinary!> Now left with little choice the bulky crimson turned to the cave mouth and stepped inside, eyes flashing and teeth bared; she might not be able to harm humans but she could use her body as a shield.
((Eggs are still hidden at this point! Revolution characters can either take this opportunity to try to flee, or continue trying to interfere/fight. As always, remember ICA = ICC.))
Emerath screeched and wheeled to dive at the offending silver dragonet. She remembered her rider's anger at a silver... what silver and why she couldn't recall, but this silver had tried to hurt her! He and his angry yells and violent eyes.
She pulled back at the last second as that feeling overwhelmed her, leeching her own anger right out of her. ~ Mine, oh Mine! They are hatching! They waited to long we cannot take them back now! ~ She pulled high overhead circling with agitation.
Ja'kki had been crawling to her feet, she wasn't sure if her knife had found it's mark, only that she'd wounded her attacker yet again. Halfway through standing a handful of sand hit her face, making her scream as it filled her sensitive eyes. The woman's tackle caught her side, spinning her off and into the ground away from both. There was chaos erupting around, Emerath's voice in her head and she couldn't see!
"Merrell! S'lar!" Her eyes watered as she tried to get the sand out of them and avoid any further attacks. ~ Emerath! See if you can the others can distract those dragons! Keep them out of our way!~
Emerath didn't like it. Oh she didn't like it at all. What were they going to do? They couldn't take the eggs back now. There wouldn't be eggs to take soon! But her's didn't want to leave? She flipped her self over in the air and dove for a second time at the silver, screeching with anxiety as she repeated her previous assault.
Aurelien did as he was told, drawing close to the group of candidates and entering the cave. The eggs were hatching? Shards! They had been meant to find the eggs and return them safely to the Weyr! What if some revolutionist dimglow impressed one of them? He glanced up towards Moriath.
What could they do, if the dragonets were already hatching?
