"Well, you are about to have more than that. And with Pest setting the example, perhaps we can get your three in order before the other egg hatches." V'tur nodded. Lunch and using food as a reward might help. "That settles it then. Not today or tomorrow. But the day after, I want you to wait for me in the dining hall and I will come and get you. From there, we will go someplace where the flits can focus. Maybe the lake or out to the fields."
V'tur watched the brown who seemed not to care what was going on.

Cat peered under Wen's chin, eyes turning a suspicious orange at the unwanted attention. He had taken the shinny fairly. He flicked his tail, settled against his fair's odd looking gold. His gold! Not the bronzes, the bronze had his own awkward gold and a second gold that Cat knew about because he had taken one of the round warm shinnies. Which would hatch and give his fair more attendants for theirs. He huffed, snorting at the pair. His, his, his!
Wen nodded, reaching up to stroke Cat and sooth the flit's ruffled feelings as the little browns emotions bled to him. He rather thought V'tur was a bit dense, suggesting the lakes or fields for lessons. What was not suppose to distract his flits out there? He kept his mouth shut, listening and nodded. "Two days from now after lunch," he said dutifully. Hopefully his flits would not chase insects about.

Pest hissed again at the brown. But he stayed where he was at on V'tur's shoulders. He would show this brown a thing or two! Chirping to himself and to his owner, Pest almost sounded like he was making a snide comment.
V'tur frowned again. He wasn't sure if the boy was being respectful or just wanting to hurry up and leave. Either way, he would show up for lessons or V'tur would make sure that the boy had extra chores to make up for it. "Alright then. If they can learn simple commands such as fetch and go, then we will move closer to the weyr and see how they handle distractions like people, other flits and much more. Off you go now, and if you had someplace to be, let them know that Brown rider V'tur kept you. Let me know how the egg hatches."

"I will," Wen said calmly stroking Cat a bit more, gave a polite nod to the brown rider, and started back towards the candidate barracks. He would be keeping his flits at least and he could use a bit of help. He tapped Cat's side to get the flit's attention. "Back to my room Cat," he muttered. "I have a class soon."
The brown flit chirped and winged off.
